StarCraft: Mass Recall
StarCraft: Mass Recall (SCMR) is a project that recreates the classic StarCraft and Brood War gameplay as well as the entire single-player campaigns within the StarCraft II engine. StarCraft: Mass Recall contains 68 maps, 59 from the original StarCraft/Brood War game, 3 that were hidden or deleted on various StarCraft supports, and 6 from the 1998 demo campaign.
You need to have StarCraft II installed in order to play the Mod. StarCraft II is free-to-play, you can download the game client from the StarCraft II Official Game Site.

FRIENDLY DISCLAIMER: This Mod and all campaign files are free. This means, all who work on Mass Recall are putting their free time into an incredibly comprehensive remaster of all of StarCraft and Brood War, including entirely new custom campaigns such as the Stukov Series and Enslavers Redux. Thus, there should be absolutely no expectations that bug fixes or new features will be released in any sort of timely manner. This is a "we'll get to it when we get to it" situation. Please be aware the modders here have work lives, family lives, and simply do not have the energy to maintain a lively work cycle to keep the Mod 100% up to date. We do promise we will release updates when we feel they are ready to be released. We hope that you understand our position on this.

Installation

Auto-Installation
(for Windows, if you're using Mac follow the manual installation guide below)
For a fresh auto-install please carefully follow these steps:
1. Download the SCMR installer and the required files (see the "Downloads" section above).
2. Move all downloaded ZIP-Files and unzip the installer to your StarCraft II installation directory. The default path to it is: "C:\Program Files (x86)\StarCraft II\".
3. Run the installer.
4. After SCMR is successfully installed, use the shortcut on your Desktop to run SCMR.
Auto install video guide by DeltronLive
Note that this is for an older version, just make sure you have all the latest required files specified in the "Downloads" section above, otherwise the process is the same.
Manual Installation
If auto-install fails and/or you would like to manually install SCMR, please carefully follow these steps:
1. Download the required file sets (see the "Downloads" section above). For StarCraft: Mass Recall to work properly you need to download the Campaign Maps - that are bundled with the Main Mod (SCMRmod) and a "dummy" Cinematics Mod (SCMRcinematics) - as well as the Assets Mod (SCMRassets) and a Localization Mod (SCMRlocal).
2. Then extract all ZIP-Files to a folder of your choice. The extracted folder should look like graphic [1] below.
3. Now, open your StarCraft II installation directory where the StarCraft II.exe (WIN) or .app (MAC) is located. Per default this is on your primary C: drive under "Program Files (x86)" (WIN) or "Applications" (MAC). The standard paths to the StarCraft II installation directory are shown below.
Windows: "C:\Program Files (x86)\StarCraft II"
Mac OSX: "Macintosh HD/Applications/StarCraft II"
The StarCraft II installation directory should look similar to graphic [2] below. Note that you may need to create the "Maps" folder here if it does not already exist. Then move the folder called "Starcraft Mass Recall" (with lowercase "c") from the extracted folder to the "Maps" folder within your StarCraft II installation directory. The "Maps" folder should now look like graphic [3] below.
4. Next, move the "Mods" folder from the extracted folder into the StarCraft II installation directory (the same place as the "Maps" folder). Your "Mods" folder should now have four Mod files and resemble graphic [4] above.
5. While your newly placed "Starcraft Mass Recall" folder within the "Maps" folder should now look like graphic [5] below.

- Installations-Handbuch (Deutsch)
Alternative ways to play
If the above doesn't work for you, first and foremost make sure that:
- you have all the necessary files in the right directories
- you've set the correct paths for the shortcut
- you're running the latest version of StarCraft II
Alternative way to play without the shortcut:
- locate SC2Switcher.exe in the Support folder (your StarCraft II installation directory)/Support
- locate the SCMR Campaign Launcher file in (your StarCraft II installation directory)/Maps/Starcraft Mass Recall
- drag and drop the SCMR Campaign Launcher file to SC2Switcher.exe
If you wish to play while logged on to Battle.net, you will need to take the following steps:
- Launch StarCraft II using the Battle.net launcher
- Alt-tab to Desktop
- Launch StarCraft: Mass Recall using the created shortcut
Note that you can still save and load any SCMR map, as long as you're logged in.
Bonus Campaign - Enslavers Redux Installation
ZIP Download - https://www.sc2mapster.com/projects/starcraft-mass-recall/files/3246278
This file includes a new 30-mission extra bonus campaign "Enslavers Redux" by OmegaWeaponX! This series contains 4 episodes, with 9 unique maps per Terran, Protoss, and Zerg races, with 3 epilogue maps. Content and story is based on the original Enslavers custom maps in StarCraft and Dark Vengeance maps in Brood War. Features brand new dialog and story, missions, and enhanced heroes with their own level-up mechanics! Learn what happens between the major StarCraft episodes and the events leading up to StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty!
While this custom campaign can be played stand-alone by opening up the unique Enslavers Redux Campaign Launcher and launching missions from there, it is also integrated into Mass Recall via the "Extras" menu. In order to load it properly in for the Mass Recall Launcher to work with this campaign, follow these instructions:
- Download the above ZIP-file containing Enslavers Redux
- Go into your StarCraft II folder -> SCMR Mass Recall -> Extras:
- Within Extras, place your ZIP-file, then uncompress it there. You should have a folder that says 8. Enslavers Redux. It should look like this now:
- You've got Enslavers Redux installed! Now from the SCMR Campaign Launcher go to Extras and click on the Enslavers Redux menu panel. You can launch any mission from here or open the Enslavers Redux Campaign Launcher and launch missions from there!
Please note - This campaign has no unique audio for voices and as such it is required that subtitles are enabled in order to actually read what transmissions are saying :)

Troubleshooting
“I swear it's always some damn thing.” – Joeyray
Make sure to check out the auto install and manual install video guides also linked above. The end result in these videos is the same, regardless of install method.
Also make sure you're using an up-to-date version of StarCraft II.
Common issues:
- Param/Value/-Error: If lots of texts are like that, you may have a problem with your Mods: Delete SCMRmod and SCMRlocal, and re-download them from the links above. If it is only one or two lines (say, a mission objective), report it in the comments section (in that case, please specify which language you are playing in).
- Dependency cannot be loaded: The Mods are not at the proper place. Check that you have put your Mods (SCMRmod, SCMRassets and SCMRlocal) in the "Mods" folder, as on the pictures above.
- Unable to load map: Your Maps are not at the proper place. Check that you have put the episode files such as "1. Rebel Yell" in a folder "Starcraft Mass Recall", itself to be placed in "Maps", as on the pictures above.

In reply to 628w:
Nice, thx. I adjusted target field and it's working now.
In reply to maoolerasx:
Great! :)
Hello, I can play with the dialogues in English but the text in Spanish? If so, how could I do it?
In reply to brando2050:
Technically it is possible. But the translator would have to prepare a special version of SCMR.
In reply to 628w:
And is it very difficult or takes a lot of time? Maybe it could be done for a payment or something like that?
Hello! I’m really excited to play.
I’ve downloaded and arranged everything, but I can’t seem to find the file SCMRsetup.SC2Map - it’s not in the Starcraft Mass Recall folder. I’m running on Mac. Anyone know how to find it?
When I click on the Campaign Launcher, sc2 map editor launches but gives an error message before it fully initialises. Please could some friendly soul help me?
Thanks in advance!
In reply to noobalicious94:
In version 8.x, the "SCMRsetup.SC2Map" file no longer exists.
Maybe this information will be helpful: https://www.sc2mapster.com/projects/starcraft-mass-recall/issues/821
When I go into the Options menus, the opening window that explains the tabs has a close window button, but it doesnt do anything. It literally will not go away, even when I start the missions.
Other than that I'm really enjoying the mod!
I'm trying to look for the installer download but it is literally not there. I have tried to search up how to install it and in every single website and video they download the installer. Does anyone have suggestions on how to get it?
In reply to sack_boy6:
Yeah, had the same problem, the mods should check it.
Anyway had to google it, and it brought me back to the site.
https://www.sc2mapster.com/projects/starcraft-mass-recall/files/2734229
Just place it in the default sc2 folder along with the downloaded zip files, and run it.
Note: doesnt install the extra campaign, gotta do that yourself. :)
Enslavers Redux 8.0.1 crashes in the first epilogue chapter.
Hola buenas , disculpen no me sale el instalador del SCMR , como hago ahora ?
Hello!
I try to open MR.exe, but when opening the executable a box appears that says "The release of this game refers to dependencies of maps or mods that are no longer available", someone can tell me please, how do I solve it??
Am I allowed to publish an arcade map with Mass Recall as dependency?
Hey, sorry if this has already been answered. I want to make and publish an arcade map using SC1 unit models and tech. I want to upload it to Battlenet via the built-in publish function in the editor. I'm not a lawyer so I dont understand how the GNU license is to be applied here. Does modification mean changing the mod itself or changing ANYTHING added by the mod on my map, such as changing the Siege Tanks damage or adding an upgrade to the Academy? Should I just copy-paste the GNU copyright notice and add it as a comment in the trigger module at the top, as a SC2 map deosn't really have code like traditional software.
I used the Enslavers Redux fix linked below, and then played 6b the alternate terran final mission. Just in case anyone is still fixing this: the omega squad reinforcements still can't attack zerg, and I think there was still a placeholder hemisphere in the top left of the map. Also, if the commander stuns the mothership when it is time for it to warp away, it stays, but still becomes invincible, so you have to save before fighting it and then load if it gets bugged.
Bug Report for Enslavers Redux - Version: 8.0.1
Thanks for all the people who create this one. I spent a month on it like a drug addict.
I only play brutal difficulty. And most of the time I play at "slower" speed, i.e. the slowest speed
I start the game by clicking on "SCMR Campaign Launcher.SC2Map", and then on StarCraft II Editor, I open File-->Test Document to start the game.
Episode IV
Epilogue01
- In the mission briefing room, when Jim Raynor joins the communication and talks to the commander, the portrait shown is Arcturus Mengsk, not Jim Raynor.
- There was once that, I used dropships(loaded with vehicles which contained refugees) and brought them to the beacon. It showed like 45 refugees were on board. And then I went for a second trip to bring in 6 more refugees. When I dropped them off on the beacon, they didn't go on board. I loaded at an earlier time to try again. This time I dropped them off somewhere outside the beacon, and let them walk into the beacon themselves. Still no response. (Therefore I needed to redo the whole thing from an earlier save)
- The counter for refugee go on board was not accurate. I did check before I sent dropships(loaded with vehicles which contained refugees) and made sure that there was something like a total of 54 people. However when I sent them to the beacon this time. the counter only showed 50 people received. (lucky just reached the goal)
- (Also I think it is better show it in the mission objective that, you only need to rescue at least 50 people, not 100. I original thought it had to be 100 and got frustrated when I found that all the 100 people were scattered in different places in the map that was too difficult to reach in Brutal difficulty. I planned on giving up on this mission after many trials. Lucky for me I went online and read the guide and realized that only at least 50 people are needed.)
Epilogue02 (when I play this one, my Kerrigan was level 17, with leviathan skill and the apocalypse skill from route (a), and reach 520 biomass cap; also this stats was from my second play because in my first play I found it hopeless to beat map 6(b), so I started over from the 1st map and tried route (a) this time. And I discovered that, the special skills like "upgrade ultralisk to brutalisk" were still available to use starting from the 1st map)
- The boss battle was extremely difficult. I had no cue how it is possible to beat this one. Anyway, at my last attempt, my Kerrigan never had her hp dropped below 1. She was literally unkillable. I don't know how this happened.
Epilogue03
- I built void rays. And then discovered that they had no attack (they could not attack).
- There was an upgrade for dragoon. However, sometimes the gateways did not show dragoon (thus could not build dragoon). Sometimes after I reload the game, dragoons were available to be built in gateways for a while.
- The first time I successfully reached the goal (something like charging up 4 places), the cutscene appeared, and I didn't see Narud/Duran in the cutscene (so Zeratul was like talking to air). Then started the boss battle, and Narud/Duran was really not in the map. There was no boss for me to attack so I had to load an earlier save (and then this time things worked normally).
Episode III
Zerg map (2)
- Sometimes when an scv tried to seal the gate control, he just disappeared half-way. i.e. sometimes when I flew a queen(SC 1 queen) to the location of the "scv and gate control" in order to use broodling to instantly kill the scv, I found that the scv was already left/disappeared, and the counter at the top right also disappeared. So the crisis was solved by itself.
Zerg map (5a)
- This map was significantly easier than Zerg map (5b), because apparently some action triggers of this map did not work properly. The computer only sent units to attack my main base from the north east base once or twice. And for the south west base, it seemed that if the initial 3 or 4 dropships were killed, the computer would not build any new dropship, and therefore basically no more enemy would come from the south west base. Apparently only the action trigger of the north west base was functioning normally. i.e. most of the time enemies came from the north west only.
- The enemy base at the south east corner has a critical problem that, the path to the bridge was blocked by 3 buildings. Therefore the huge amount of land units produced in that base were stuck inside and could not came out to attack. (Therefore my Kerrigan just sat outside that base and used her "psy storm" skill to farm all the biomass she needed for level up)
Zerg map (6a) or (6b)
- The defiler has a blank unit portrait. It also has 2 "consume skill", and the "dark swarm skill" is missing.
- When I "circled" a bunch of my units, with the defiler among them, it won't not be included in the group of unit I selected. I had to manually click ctrl+left click on the defiler to add it into the group.
In reply to badandcutebaby:
Many of these errors are reported here: https://www.sc2mapster.com/projects/starcraft-mass-recall/issues
Some of these bugs are fixed in an unofficial update: https://www.sc2mapster.com/projects/starcraft-mass-recall?comment=4268
The fact that you could use dropships in the 1st Epilogue mission is also a bug - dropships should be destroyed by Zergs.
Guys, where installer?

Hi
I have moved the files according to the manual installation, and the game is also in the default folder (Program86). I also downloaded the shortcut from a previous version
But it still doesn't work. It shows this . What do I do?
