The second installment of the classic Starcraft campaigns. Uses the same mod file as the previous episode, and again, credit for the mod goes to MavercK. Also thanks to Ultraling for his initial work on the Terran episode, and GnaReffotsirk and others for the amazing unit models.
Features
- all 10 original missions
- original SC1 units and structures with original stats, including custom models
- original SC1 Zerg soundtrack
- all the dialogue, voice acting & other miscellaneous text from the original campaign
"Artistic License"
(some notable differences from the original campaign)
- Lurkers! Because who doesn't love Lurkers?
- Mission 5 "The Amerigo" - yep, like it or absolutely hate it, the third person "shooter" action is back
- two difficulty levels - with a somewhat more aggressive AI than in the original, in order to provide some challenge to the average player

How to play
- extract the mod file (SC1BWmod) to your "Mods" folder in your Starcraft 2 install directory (NOT the folder under "My Documents")
- extract the map pack to the "Maps" folder in your Starcraft 2 install directory (create the folder if it doesn't exist)
- extract the Campaign Launcher & setup to the same "Maps" folder (not the campaign folder)
Campaign Launcher installation:
- launch the Starcraft 2 editor
- open the setup map named SCMRsetup in your Maps folder and click the "test document" button on the top right (or press ctrl+F9)
- wait until the launcher loads and you're at the title screen, then save the game and exit the map (press esc or F10 to open the game menu)
- find the save file (named "Starcraft - Mass Recall" by default) in (your home/documents folder)/Starcraft II/Saves/VersusAI
- copy or move the save file to the saves folder under your account folder (your home/documents folder)/Starcraft II/Accounts/.../.../Saves/Multiplayer (for example; any of the save folders will do)
- Done! You can now log into the appropriate account and load the save from the load game-screen. You can use this save to play each episode.
more info:
- You can copy the save file to whatever accounts you want. For example, if you want to play offline, copy it to your guest account folder.
- If you're unsure of the right folders or can't find the Starcraft II documents folder, log into an account of your choice in SC2, go to the load game-screen, click on a save and click the "show in folder"-button. It will take you to the appropriate saves folder.

TheTorrasque:
I'm not much of a Zerg player myself, but I did enjoy playing this campaign, if I may say so myself. =P Glad you like it. I'll get to fixing those bugs when I have a big enough list.
johnny:
The scan in the cutscene is scripted. I tested the map again just now, and they did occasionally scan my lurkers. Not nearly all the time though, and never when attacking. I dunno what's up with that. The AI should get challenging enough though, even with some issues with detection.
Jones313
Well, it used comsat once: during Kerrigan's birth cutscene. Figures.
They do attack me quite a lot, but with my lurkers, I can mop the floor with any ground forces they throw at me.
Finally the zerg campaign! I'm playing on mission 7, where you fight against the orange brood. Except a few bugs, this work is simply perfect.
johnny
deathkad:
You're just pushing me, huh? =p Yeah, it's coming. I'll make it myself if I have to, but as far as I know, it's being worked on.
Heheh! The music and the well done cinematics ( + the ending ) are bringing that style 'maybe' :p. I thank you for answering :) .
Cheers!
so is a protoss campaign coming (that you know of) even if your not making it yourself?
btw very good campaigns so far
More bugs:
Zerg04
- The remains of Kerrigan's chrysalis never disappear.
- Kerrigan's quick icon (the one in the lower right corner) appears as a blank square
- While I do appreciate the Lurker's presence in the campaign, the unit makes the mission a complete joke, as the AI doesn't use comsat to reveal cloaked/burrowed units. That's surprising, because I thought you pulled that off pretty well in the Terran campaign (e.g. Terran05)
- You probably already know about it, but the Queen is completely buggued, and none of the research options works. Also, Ensnare isn't available for purchase; instead, I get a duplicated icon.
- WHERE ARE MAH SCOURGES?!?
On a more positive note, terrain looks pretty good so far! I guess you won't require my services anymore. ;)
fod2015:
Me too, man, me too.
TheHolyArk:
It's probably just the SC1 music. =P Not to sound mysterious or anything but I'm not entirely sure what's happening with the Protoss campaign... I'm not looking to be involved in its development at this time. All I know is it's coming, sooner or later (proably a bit later)
johnnythewolf:
Thanks again for the reporting! I'll try to fix as much stuff as I can in the next update. Those tech tree fixes should be no problem. The victory screen (which works perfectly for me), though... let me just say I hate the localization of Starcraft 2, and I hope it burns in Hell.
Bug report!
Zerg01:
- It's not possible to purchase Burrowing, as the mission doesn't allow you to evolve a hatchery into a lair.
- After you purchase the first carapace, the Evolution Chamber displays the Level 3 upgrade, albeit greyed out.
- The Zerg Victory music refuses to play during the score screen; instead, I get a black screen with a trigger error message. The next map still loads though.
That said, the campaign itself looks very good. I can't wait to try out SC2's lurkers!
Woah! You really know how to catch the StarCraft I style :) . I really beg you: Please do the Protoss Campaign, it would make me very happy. { I am a fan of Protoss }
Cheers and Good Luck!
finally~ looking forward to brood war human campaign
Heh. Recommended by Sixen? :D
Honestly though, you might see minor issues here and there. For one, Queen movement just refuses to work. Sorry. All kinds of trouble and instability after the patch and everything... I just wanted to get this up here before my computer breaks or I lose my mind. =P
Everything has been tested pretty hardcore though (at least pre-patch) so the campaign should be very playable. As always, bug reports and other feedback is very welcome.
Awesome! Episode 2 for SC1 :D.
