Custom Campaign Initiative
The Custom Campaign Initiative (CCI) is a centralization of authors and projects that are intended to mimic the Blizzard single-player campaign format.
List of Custom Campaigns (With descriptions)
List of Custom Campaigns (Based on project status)
Check other pages of the CCI for tutorials and other stuff.
What level of quality is required for listed projects?
1) Mission can be played by using Starcraft II editor. Because this is Starcraft II editor community.
2) Map and Mod files are available for download. Because we want to learn from other campaign projects.
3) A series of at least two missions. Because one mission is not campaign.
4) Missions are playable as single player. Because campaign scene is designed for single player.
5) These two missions do not need to be up to date, polished and perfect, but playable with no show stoppers. Because we dont want to waste our time on very bad quality stuff.
CCI authors will check these requirements before listing projects but CCI authors do not frequently check projects after listing.
How does the Custom Campaign Initiative work?
The CCI is a bunch of people who work on their own projects but want to list their work under one project.
By listing all projects together each invidual project gains more downloads and whole Starcraft II campaign scene gets more attention.
The CCI works like Wikipedia. All authors are allowed to edit pages. This project is linking page so files are not allowed directly on CCI.
How do I join the Custom Campaign Initiative?
If you are interested in becoming a part of the CCI send PM to Terhonator or other authors of this project.

Hello all,
I've been trying to post here a longish post, but instead of getting posted it gets marked as spam every time. In lieu of posting here that message, I post here a link to it:

(wary that also a link would be mark this post as spam, I removed the initial http)
Cheers,

Hello all,
For many years the idea of creating a starcraft custom campaign was on my mind. After a while I conceded that I probably won't be able to make one myself due to lack of map-editor skills and lack of time. What I cared for the most was the writing of a story (which at least I think I'm half descent at) so I thought about writing a script for a campaign the same way that playwrights write play scripts, with the remote hope that someone (who is less passionate about writing a story?) would want to pick it up. So I started writing. A combination of other things happening in my life and my hope that anyone would care about it enough wavering, I stopped working on it somewhere in the middle.
Something yesterday reminded me of that abandoned script and I thought I don't want to regret never giving it a try, and I thought about posting my half baked scripts (I have one campaign-overview documents as well as individual documets for each mission, none completed). I felt those must be edited to be presentable. I wanted to do it but when I returned to this page I got somehow disheartened, seeing the incredible work people do here and feeling my own past efforts were pitiful.
Instead, I decided to "pitch", as it were, my campaign, and perhaps if anyone is interested then I'll be encouraged to further develop the script, and perhaps some cooperation could emerge.
I'll say that I care about "little stories". I loved the original startcraft & broodwar campaigns (and kudos to the recreators of the campaign on the starcraft 2 engine. Amazing work!) but not so much those of the second one. WoL particularly disappointed me with its ending. I played only half way through HotS (though I stopped from other reasons than "not liking it", but maybe not caring enough was part of it?), and just seeing bits of pieces about legacy of the void I get the impression that the story is of an epic scale, something like a mythological creation story, a fight between good and evil, which to me seems inherently boring. Ego, politics, aspirations, little failures and successes, misjudgments, surprises ––– those are the things that I think constitute a good story.
My campaign is designed to follow the story rather than a single faction, so that each mission the player plays from a different perspective. In Starcraft you had a story where you switched perspective once an episode, but here you'd switch a perspective every episode (but also coming back to the same faction later on). Also, I'm curious about tapping into a wider universe, and the campaign is set in parallel to the vanilla (first) starcraft campaign.
The campaign revolves around a single planet (originally called Ju Nera. I later found out that there was a Protoss character with a very similar name, which made me feel like I know how they came up both with this name and with "Mar Sara". I won't believe this to be a coincidence), held by the Confederacy since the end of the Guild Wars, garrisoned by Beta Squadron forces and with a detachment of Epsilon Squadron that experiments both on terrans and zerg. While Sons of Korhal assult Tarsonis, a rebellion starts in Novi-Asgard, the capital city of Ju Nera, by a union of gangs with a certain ideological flavour of "technocratism": they believe human societies should be governed by an unbiased AI than by self promoting terrans.
A certain event attracts the attention of the Protoss Korpulu Expedition Force who then destroy the above-ground research facilities of the Epsilon Squadron. During this chaos the Zerg in the secret underground facilities are lost control of; several queens develop and one manages to defeat the other and establish a brood, which later establishes a communication with the overmind.
I have roughly sketched 8 episodes so far, which would constitute either the whole or part of the first episode. My vision was to focus on this one planet, and the conflict between all the forces that have this or another interest in it: the protoss (probably more than one faction would be involved), zerg, as well as several terran factions with different world views: the Sons of Korhal, the New Alabama Federation of City States (emerging from the remnant Beta Squadron forces; "New Alabama" was the name the confederacy had for the planet), a hitherto unnamed-polity established by a psychic terran who escaped from the labs, and two different technocratic factions –– the "Humanists" and "Absolutists" -- with different ideas about how a society should be governed by an AI.
I have always assumed that people were interested in creating custom campaigns out of interest in creating a story, though I have since learned that that was not necessarily the case. If anyone is interested, even remotely, hit me up!

Ohhh...looks so nice!!!

I have edited the CCI main page to remove a lot of additional spacing. I hope this makes it a little more compact without sacrificing too much readability.
Thank you TChosenOne !
Hey. Now we have two versions of listed campaigns. Huge thanks to TChosenOne!
do you guys have a discord server??
Well... since custom color is a big 'no no' now.
How about adding pic? Maybe something like this ?
I've been using them for my project page for quiet sometimes now.
Losing colours and categorizations is a big negative for the CCI. At this point you have no idea what you're expecting at a glance, having to open each individual campaign, and even then it takes a lot of effort to know if it's complete, updated, or abandoned. You had multiple editors willing to take up some of the updating burden (and could have asked for more editors), and this forced change will just push them away.
To shamlessly plug something that is categorized, look here:

Good job. I am sure we will get better CCI as result.
Tracking progress of campaigns is great. I admit that when I removed color coding some information was lost. Let's keep the structure you have created and update it.
StarCraft 1 Remakes
Complete/Near Complete Campaigns
Campaigns in Progress
Campaigns in Stasis
Anxiously Waiting
Hi. I changed logo of our project but I dont remember who created logo. Anyway, kudos for creator.
Sorry but I will delete all files in "Files" section because it causes confusion for people who come for this page and they just click the download button and get some "random" stuff.
I also edited project pages lot.
EDIT.... Still editing text.
Dont use custom colors, please.
Unfortunately we cant keep activity coloring of projects because we simply do not have enough time to keep track of progress.
I also modified texts so that purpose of CCI becomes more clear. CCI is all about just listing stuff and gathering projects and people together.
I will begin to inspect quality of the listed projects and I remove if I find something very low quality. We have enough stuff at the moment so we can focus more on quality at this point.
