Custom Campaign Initiative
The Custom Campaign Initiative (CCI) is a centralization of authors and projects that are intended to mimic the Blizzard single-player campaign format.
List of Custom Campaigns (With descriptions)
List of Custom Campaigns (Based on project status)
Check other pages of the CCI for tutorials and other stuff.
What level of quality is required for listed projects?
1) Mission can be played by using Starcraft II editor. Because this is Starcraft II editor community.
2) Map and Mod files are available for download. Because we want to learn from other campaign projects.
3) A series of at least two missions. Because one mission is not campaign.
4) Missions are playable as single player. Because campaign scene is designed for single player.
5) These two missions do not need to be up to date, polished and perfect, but playable with no show stoppers. Because we dont want to waste our time on very bad quality stuff.
CCI authors will check these requirements before listing projects but CCI authors do not frequently check projects after listing.
How does the Custom Campaign Initiative work?
The CCI is a bunch of people who work on their own projects but want to list their work under one project.
By listing all projects together each invidual project gains more downloads and whole Starcraft II campaign scene gets more attention.
The CCI works like Wikipedia. All authors are allowed to edit pages. This project is linking page so files are not allowed directly on CCI.
How do I join the Custom Campaign Initiative?
If you are interested in becoming a part of the CCI send PM to Terhonator or other authors of this project.

That's the goal njordys. To try and bring them all together so they are easier to find.
Nice initiative, I applaud it. We really need a community based on custom campaigns, as there are unfortunately few campaigns out there.
Thumbs up ;)
Thanks for comment lolzguy. I have seen that you have commented many single player maps. I have tried to improve all my maps to faster so that it takes less than 45 minutes to complete. I have done terrain of all 5 missions same way but in next mission I'm going to do something different. I hope that I get some comments about difficulty level, especially about hard and brutal. I will check that supply trigger again if there is someway to make it work better.
Mission 5
Overall
- This is an outstanding improvement from your last game.
1. Better gameplay - it is certainly alot faster and more fun
2. More inventive ideas - Seriously this mission is not a hack and slash mission
it is a lot more inventive and interesting than a hack and slash mission (A genre that is overused)
kudos on that part
Gameplay
- Improved dramatically. Before it is very slow to get the mission and base up. But this mission I felt that the mission was faster and more dramatic and A LOT harder.
- Adding aerial attacks is recommended. Because it adds more challenge.
Terrain
- Average in my opinion. It was the same in the last 4 missions. Changing it would be nice for a couple of missions. Make is more alive than just a barren wasteland (Come on, the Earth isn't that dead)
Bugs
- I don't know why but I won the game with 159 supplies, the trigger could be bugged out. .. I don't know. Something happened and I finished the game early.
Mass improvement from the last missions. I am looking forward to seeing more of your epic games come out. Thank you for improving.
Final Score: 7.5/10 - A map that I like very much.
Woot Another Map. I will test it out right now.
Mission5 published to Hand of Humanity. Use download link on Hand of Humanity project page until admins aprove my .zip file.
This is amazing, i want MOAR!!
I uploaded my campaign as .zip file to Mediafire ( Link Removed: http://www.mediafire.com/ ) I have a link to Mediafire on my project page. This way people can download whole campaign in one .zip file. I'm not sure yet what is actually best way to share files. People need to put files in right direction anyway if maps have linking between maps.
@Tyneara: Go
Well the truck couldn't make it to the the other side because I think one of the ramps leading up to the top level, wasn't big enough.
But anyway thanks for accepting my wall of text :) it is nice to see people improve.
Hi. I just updated my project. I made "launcher" map to select difficulty and mission. All missions have 4 difficulty level to choose. Difficulty only affects to attack waves but I think it is still nice element for campaign. - To be honest I haven't tested difficulty level really, I just modified it so that Casual sends less units than normal and hard and brutal send more. I also linked all maps together. If you download files and place those into Startcraft II\Maps linking will work. I want to say thanks to akblabla. I learned to do this by inspecting his map. I also uploaded my campaign in .zip file but zip files need approval before those are published. So I'm propably not going to use zip files. Also some people don't know how to use .zip files. I am doing mission5 also. I'm going to publish it in this month. Much faster to do maps now while I understand basics. Really nice to spent time for planing good game play instead of just learning how to do things.
Could you try and elaborate on the colonist escort bugging out? I had no issues testing so I need more information to help me clean that up.
As for story-wise, there is a gap, I admit that, one that I'm planning on rectifying here with an optional cutscene, possibly just an expansion of mission 2.
As for the rest, I love text-walls, it gives me tons of feedback with which to improve the mission at hand.
Thank you for the Terrain compliments, I set out when I started this mission to spend extra time on Terrain, and it paid off. My story... well... it needs to get back on the front burner for awhile. Awesome feedback lozguy, stay tuned for more.
Serene Baker MISSION - 3 [SPOILER ALERT!!!]
Ohhhh Another Single Player mission up. Ha Ha let me try out the game and see if it is good.
General
- Terrain was ... ... Unbelievably good
- Gameplay however was the same for every game (destroy everything with some added incentives).
Terrain
- 10/10 for your terrain, I have no suggestions or criticisms but to tell you to keep it up.
Game-Play
- Sorry but this is the part where you slide down on. 3/10
- The Game-Play is just another hack and slash game with added incentives. You have to mass up and kill a heavily defended base to win the game.
- The colonist escort was nice but it bugged out during the gameplay so I wasn't able to finish it and thus I wasn't able to gain the alliance of the Dominion.
Difficulty
- I didn't have time to finish the game yet so I will post extra details on this later
Story
- The story didn't make that much sense and felt a bit fair fetched and weird. I had a lot of questions in my mind,
Is Serene Baker infested?
How did Serene Baker survive the Protoss when she was in a egg?
What was going on between the Second Mission and Third Mission?
Can't Serene Baker command the Zerg?
Err why did the Dominion not take over the lower corner of the map when there are no hostile forces?
If the Terrans didn't take over the lower corner of the map, then why didn't the Zerg do when they have like half of the world in their grasp?
Why the hell did the Dominion sent a convoy when they knew there was Protoss Base out there?
There are mineral caches and gas pallets that is 2 feet from the Terran's door that hasn't been picked up. So why the hell didn't they pick them up even when they are at their front door ?!
Bugs and Glitches
- The convoy is abit buggy (maybe the ramps leading the convoy to the top level is not big enough). A very serious bug that needs fixing.
- During the introductory cinematic, when Serene was talking, Gunny was the name displayed. Nothing serious but needs fixing.
6/10 - Very good terrain but gameplay needs jazzing up to get a 10/10. Story needs a lot of fixing to make it make sense. An above average map that has potential.
P.S This is all meant to be constructive. Sorry for the wall of text.
I'll have a look now that its posted (probably tomorrow as it's late here)
I've just uploaded a new campaign called "Birth of a Swarm". Currently it is just a alpha waiting for approval, but I thought it would fit here ^^
@Terhonator: Go
No, I haven't spoken directly to Jones or any of the members of the original SC1 remake team. My project is something else entirely. Though I suggest people interested in a strict port of the original campaign check out their missions, of course.
On achievements: You can't do achievements, not in the way that Blizzard does them anyways. The triggers are only supported on Blizzard maps. I use a custom library of triggers to draw a GUI element that looks similar to the Blizzard achievements. Welcome to the Legacy campaign, where everything's made up and the points don't matter.
I'll probably be removing the points from the achievements, and simply print the difficulty level the player is playing on, and make achievements independent of difficulty level. Since the achievements are "just for fun" and won't add to your achievement score, there's no reason to require an achievement be completed on a specific difficulty level, but printing the difficulty level on the achievement works for bragging rights in screenshots.
@lolzguy: Go
Mission 3 on the way, I've been busy lately, but an beta version will be up inside of two weeks hopefully, sooner if I find oodles of free time. I'm most excited to bring you all mission 4, as it will be an entirely new mission between the original mission 3 and 4, 4 will become 5 and 4 will be a brand new mission, featuring a brand new Terran unit exclusive to the Legacy campaigns.
designerdougm I am really amazed. Keep up the good work!
I am going to check how to do achievements... After 30 minutes: Haha... too hard for me to understand that =) I thought its just same kind of trigger than for tip. That amount of triggers in mission1... Wow. Makes my own maps to look so newbie =D And you have even more stuff in mod. By the way have you done some sort of co-operating with people who made remades of original SC1 Campaigns?
I did some updates to my mission1.
I am still waiting for your mission three Designerdougm. :) Your missions are very well done. But anyway take your time on creating your third masterpiece :) . Same with your Debe and Tyneara and Terhonator with your fifth mission :) .
@Qiw: Go We're not really a "team" in the sense that we're working together on content. It's more of a community that's basically trying to get more people interested in custom single player campaigns, and provide each-other critique. Just show us your stuff, and if it's half decent I'm sure Tyneara would be glad to add you.
@Terhonator: Go Ah, I definitely didn't see the rocks, that would have helped. For now a map ping is a quick solution, or a tip. As for the setting, take some time to read up on SC universe history, find a planet or planets that fit your bill. Ones that are mentioned only in passing, perhaps that are barren, or have undergone disasters, but never really make their way into the narrative of SC1 or SC2, that way you're not interfering with the canon.
There is some mention of Earth, as the UED in Brood War is the United Earth Directorate. Earth could work, but so could some lesser known planet, try finding something that fits, and a timeline that fits.
Looks awesome guys, i'd just like to say that i'd be very honored if you guys accept applicants or something, i'm very interested in creating very well made singleplayer content and i have a few projects that i'm gonna work on. As a sidenote i'd like to say i'm very new to mapmaking and the editor itself, so i might not be a very knowledgeable asset to your little team, but i'm very passionate about it and i'd love to help anyone out that needs testing, feedback or anything else.
I realise i sent tyneara a pm but i thought i'd just post a bit about myself here :)
Thanks for comments designerdougm.
I respond to some of your notes.
