Appearently blizzard is going to release D3 like teh did SC2, with alot of features that will come in the soon future(8 months after launch... most likely)
Blizzard has announced that Diablo 3 won't have PvP at launch. According to a post on the official Diablo 3 website, Blizzard came to the conclusion that the PvP (player versus player) game and systems weren't living up to their standards, so they've decided to hold back the PvP arena system and release it in a patch after the game comes out.
I swear this better not be a shit version of PVP like we got for Chat channels..
I saw that :( Personally, I could care less about PvP. So I'm perfectly okay with it, for what I'll be using the game for. But I understand the disappointment.

Why don't they just push the release a few months more?
Even Blizzard can't spend a decade for each of their games. "Not living up to it's standard" is synonomous with "we didn't have time for that" at Blizzard.
slippery slope anyone? Now that they have made the final decision to officially "not do this until later" how many more things do you think will be tagged onto that?
"Well, we NEED to release a patch afterwards anyway; might as well tack this on there as well."
The only way I would buy this game within the first 6 months of release, is if they announce that they will grandfather in OP items; and not change their stats when it is found how OP they are. Btals, .08 Valk, stormshield chain gloves... In which situation I would buy them up; and hold them for a year; until mass duping is perfected, then auction them off.
Either way, honestly, does anyone here expect anything other than 60-80% downtime, with 2-3 global resets in the first 6 months of this game being released?
Is Blizzard having financial problems? No Blizzcon this year, 600 job positions will be freed (they are saying because they need to change the people over the years) and now this? Let's hope not. I want HotS and LotV in their full glory.
i don't think Blizzard have real financial problems, it's more than actually they are too ambicious:
- 3 simultaneous developments: D3, HotS and one more expansion for WoW (last time blizzard tried 2 simultaneous developments it finished with "sc: ghost" cancelled)
- the "promise" of 2 games per year. blizzard are you serious? (you can't manage more than 1 project at same time and trying 2 games per year?)
- a fourth simultaneous development with that "secret project" they have a while ago
- WoW, as any other MMoRPG, have a lifespan. They try to cover it with more an more patchs but it will only prolong the agony of the beast
more than financial problems they have too many taps open. They grew arrogant with WoW incomes and just noticed the mistake, but they need to keep their pride and publish the games they promised

Not quite true.
They've been simultaneously working on Sc2 and WoW. And SC:Ghost wasn't developed by Blizzard but by an outside studio. They canceled it because it didn't stand up to their expectations. If they really had money issues at that point they'd have rushed it out and sold the hell out of it. Even a bad game sells as long as it has the name Starcraft tagged onto it.
It's much more likely that Vivendi / Activision Blizzard are pressuring them for a timely release. Stuff that hasn't been finished until then has to be shipped in patches.
They said no PVP, but blizzard likes to only tell half truths, like the no chat channels, there was In lobby chat still. So I wonder If just maybe there will still be basic Duels at launch.

Better to release a fully-polished product and add new features later than to cram unfinished features into an otherwise complete product.
For all the complaints lately about the "beta culture", where publishers push out turgid unfinished games to hit an arbitrary release date divined by those hoary oracles in the marketing department, I would expect more consideration for Blizzard's commitment to quality releases. While it may not have been a good decision to reveal PvP before it was ready, there will be PvP, and it's not as though the game will be paltry of content. Rather than rage, allow yourself this opportunity to taste disappointment while looking forward to the ostensibly better PvP they have planned.
With regards to the real-money auction house, there's little reason to complain. It's entirely optional, better equipment means increased difficulty in PvE, it's not known what significance equipment will have in PvP, and it will effectively quash the black market game economies by under-cutting their profitability and ensure more secure transactions. It is comparable to the relationship between prohibition and organized crime, where organized criminal enterprises provide products and services that are only profitable because the illegality of their goods makes the market anti-competitive; if the market is opened, regulated, and taxed, competitive suppliers drive prices down, rendering the models of the criminal enterprises unsustainable.
What do you mean by unfinished? Diablo 3 is primarily a PvE game, not PvP. I don't understand how holding back a feature means it is unfinished or that it lacks quality because there is no PvP. I won't be buying it for PvP, theres plenty of other games for that some of which are free to play.
Diablo 3 will be like every other Blizzard game; there will be free patches later on with bug fixes and other features added. This does not mean it is unfinished.
Also, Blizzard have, for many years, ran beta versions of their games. The only difference these days is that the community has more access to it. There were beta testing versions of Starcraft 1, Diablo 2 and Warcraft 3. Did anyone here play them (or even know about them before release)?
If Blizzard delayed the release again to include PvP they would be bombarded with complaints from rabid fans. It wouldn't be a wise move. At least the delays for RMAH meant that we'd avoid 3rd parties selling in game items/ currency. The way I see it, the RMAH is a pre-emptive strike to those 3rd parties from getting their foot in the door. Who wants to be whispered about buying gold or items while you are playing for the first time? I don't.

A VERY large part of the D2 community, and an even larger part of the community today, was and is focused on PvP. That is, in the long run, what keeps people playing a game that is this customizable. The same with WoW
EDIT: My older brother played multiple of the early blizzard games in beta stage, and he brags about all the things that he 'has changed' :D

I've stopped caring when they said real money auctions

WHAT THE FUCK NO PVP?
Oh man....I dont like this...
Mmm...I also feel like monk needs a bit more work. I would play monk but seems to weak to me so Ill prefer to play something else.
yea...Unfinished seems to be their policy nowadays than the quality....fuck

I wonder if this is suppose to be possible...the other one left me after jondar though :(

I don't mind. I'm not one for PVP in Diablo 3. If it means bringing the game out sooner than later, I'm all for it.
