Due to the increasing amount of spam and our hatred of it, we have added captcha's to help prevent some of this spam. These captchas will only show up to some people who the system determines could be spammers. If you receive this captcha we apologize for the inconvenience but it's for the better of the community! The captcha we have chosen should impact our users the least (Most users will just have to check "I'm not a robot"). If you have any concerns please feel free to reply here or PM me directly and I will do my best to address them. We apologize for only getting this in now but we were hoping to move over to the new platform.

It appears that viewing any topic at all is now impossible as a normal, unregistered viewer.
I can still open the front page and navigate through the forum, and articles like the Custom Campaign Initiative also work. But as soon as I click on the title of a forum topic, I'm stuck with the page loading forever. Only if I log-in with my account can I view any topic at all.
That's one way to stop growth in the community I suppose.
If this is going to be permanent, at least make a warning/sticky somewhere saying that any new user should register an account, even if he's just browsing around.
(I've tested this with Firefox, as well as Internet Explore without Add-ons. On my own computer, as well as my friend's computer.)

Same issue if I try incognito mode. Here's hoping that'll get fixed and we're not stuck with it.
Christ almighty on a stick. I don't want to beat a dead horse, but seriously: it took literally three years for us to get Curse to do any spam-related upgrades to the forum. After hearing about how "the forum software will be updated" a bazillion times and how "the current software doesn't support good anti-spam measures", we finally get a Captcha.
And now, five days after the Captcha, users are being unable to log in, accountless users can't view threads anymore, and the frontpage still looks like this.
Is anybody Curse-related gonna wanna address this? I mean - by now we're used to being left in the cold, but one can hope, I suppose.
This is fixed now guys, please let me know if you see it again. Sorry about that, it was fixed instantly but the person who needed to do a code review was driving cross country at the time and since this code base was froze there was no one else familiar enough to do it.

I'm sorry, but this is NOT fixed. I don't know if anyone else notices this but the ONLY people that can post are Authors, Mods, and people with their first post. Just look at every single post since this Anti-Spam was put into place and you'll see what I mean. People that do not fall into that category cannot post or PM at ALL. Please read this and fix this. I don't want to have to make another account just so I can post again.
I applaud the effort to reduce or even possibly eliminate spam. But also people, next time, don't be so quick to celebrate until you see actual results.
Sorry if this post seems a little harsh. I mainly just wanted to pinpoint the issues/bugs so they can hopefully be fixed.
You upload a dummy map project (i called it "dummy map to be able to post thank you") .. wait for it to be approved (uploading a map with it (blank one if you want) makes it quick)
then when you get the pm that it has been approved .. just reboot your computer and change/try different browsers.. be patient..
and then you will be able to post again (i am proof of that, i couldn't post for a week)
I'm sorry, but this is NOT fixed. I don't know if anyone else notices this but the ONLY people that can post are Authors, Mods, and people with their first post.
I can't double check anymore since the threads are gone, but I think this is not entirely true - some spammers have been able to make threads since the new measures, as demonstrated by the screencap from my previous post here.
Can anyone who was having posting issues give it a shot again today and let us know if it's fixed?

Hate to be a party pooper but we appear to still be getting a lot of spam.

This will be addressed in a few hours, when people get to the office. Sorry about this, folks. :/

Obviously, this is a temporary measure. :D

I guess SPAMMERS are smarter then the people at curse. Maybe Curse needs to pay the SPAMMERS to fix the site.
Oh and I was soooooooooo hype about it.
