When I reported 2 spams few days ago, I had 2 PM created. Seems I can't destroy these PM, and I don't want 1k+ PM.
Just report 1. Because this site is older, we don't have the automated spam checks we have on the newer sites yet. If we get busy, its easy to forget to manually check the forums here, a report pings us and then we go look for other spam here. We just sometimes need that ping to tell us the bots are back.
I have gotten use swimming on spam that an hour i dont see 3 spam here is an odd day. Im tired of reporting it. I think my reports of spam were like 7 to 13 a day and still here we are. So keep on swimming, keep on swimming cause curse people really get annoy of having to open their browser and look in sc2mapsters. They dont like it, curse really dosent make money out this site. So really we are the ugly ducky that they dont want to look at.
I admit, its an ongoing battle. Most days I just pretend I am playing whack-a-bot. Someone needs to make a clicker style game "Battle of the Spam Bots".
I am from Curse. And I do not find this community annoying at all. SC2 isn't my preferred game, but the community seems quite nice.
And yes, reporting does help. Sometimes the thread titles are really obvious as spam, sometimes though thread titles "seem" normal. I've even had some I started to flag as spam and upon reading saw it was a real thread. That means that to get rid of spam without reports, we need to read every thread, which causes quite a delay.
The older forums like sc2 can be finicky when trying to eliminate spam and spammers. Which does mean spam slips through much more often here than on some of the newer sites.
I'd say please check every day between 6 and 7 AM EST. I'm come online and the place is all spammed up. I also was gone for a few days and the general forum had like 25 spam posts in it. Pretty bad.

Spam is heaviest when people are sleeping. People are usually checking after 8am CST. Between 5pm- 8am (non office hours) spam generally will only be taken care of if its reported.
I do not know the timeline for the update. Kaelten posted some info in this thread . I know the dev team is working on it, but website dev isn't my expertise. All I know for sure is, its being worked on and its coming.
Generally speaking, you don't need to report every piece of spam.
- If one spammer makes multiple posts, one report will take care of all of them. When we remove a spam account we also remove everything they have posted.
- The team checks the forums throughout the day at random intervals. We also check the forums anytime a report comes in. This site doesn't yet have the same level of spam protection as some of the newer sites, so when we see a report, we usually come over and remove anything that has shown up since our last check.
We really appreciate the reporting. It helps us find and get rid of spam. Hopefully we will have a better system in place soon.
As far as I am aware, its not possible to default to that. I have the same problem of having all the reports in my box, plus every file I approve or send back for changes. I am going to be very happy when the new system is on here.
