Anyone know if there's something special you need to do to edit the scale of the model shown when placing a building? I'm making a custom barracks. I've adjusted the size to 0.60 and everything looks great. Problem is when the SCV is told to make the barracks, the glowy model is way too big.
I've tried editing the scale of the barracks, barracks death, barracks build, and barracks placement models all to 0.60 but the glowing placement models remains its original size. I've also made certain my custom barracks is using them as models.
what do you mean by "glowing placement models"? do you mean the green placement model? thats in the ability itself, go to the build ability on the SCV, find the barracks, and change that graphics size

Thanks for the reply. I've checked the build ability but can't find any reference to scaling of any sort. I tried looking at the associated build actor and the custom barracks entry in the build menu but couldn't find anything.
Under the actor for your building, you can change the "Model (Placement)" to a new Model object.
Instead of adjusting the "Scale" field on your Actor object, duplicate the Model object that your building is currently using and apply your desired scale size to your new Model object's "Scale Minimum" and "Scale Maximum" fields.
Thanks for the advice Kynval! Unfortunately I think I've already done what you're asking. Just to make certain, I took some screenshots of what I have done.
So here is the main issue:
Note that when choosing to make the barracks the green version is much larger than the regular version.
And here is how my actors are currently set:
I'm certain there's something small that I'm missing but I can't figure it out. Building placement was duplicated and the duplicate is set to 0.60 just like the regular model, and no matter how much I change it the size stays the same in-game.
Some more information: I noticed when I adjust the scale on the regular custom barracks model the placement model seems to scale with it. So if I make it smaller, the placement model looks good but then the actual barracks is too small. If I make the actual barracks the right size, then the placement model is too big. So I'm sure something is tied to it, but I can't figure out what.
Thanks for response iMisu! I just figured it out though finally :)
Problem was I had made custom models for everything, but somehow the main model was still linked to the original barracks. So any change I made was essentially doing nothing. I duplicated the model and used the custom and it works! Sorry for being dumb.

Is this a bug or am I missing something?

Bump. Thanks for any help!

@Lucavious:
You need to change the foot print, Thats completely different from scale.
