We have added a "Broken Maps" category for users who are experiencing issues with their maps and believe the source of the problem to be within the Galaxy Editor itself. If you find yourself in this situation, upload your map to the Broken Maps category. This will make things easier for us to push your maps over to the guys at Blizzard that can actually get these problems fixed.
To upload to this category, simply click the "Create Map" button on the Maps page and make sure you select the "Broken Maps" category. Thanks!
Problem:
I just cant publish my map, ive tried many things from game variants and player settings to removing the loading screen etc...
My Internet is really slow and the map is 8.6mb, that may be part of the problem as well (even though the official map limit is said to be 10.5mb). The only condition under which i had an succesful upload was completely removing all imported files (not possible to do a WoW map without these), so the problem probably doesnt lie within the map itself but in the amount of data (just for you info, no music files in the import folder). Anyway, i lost my motivation on the project because i cant release it, so i definately need help to get this beta going. Ive spend about 2-3 months on that map, just so you know its a serious project.
@Catzeeee: Go
also Catzeeee your map has no bug what so ever.
the bug is you. your game variants do not match the player property. there are like 50 post about it on this forum how to fix it.
took myself 2 mins and got your map uploaded (privet under other name) and removed.
try fix your game variants or ask someone who knows what he/she is doing.
there are not that many bugs in the editor that prevent uploading or finishing the projects.
its more that the limit of the map maker. (I also have problems with this) but its not saying that the editor is massive bugged.
Catz so to work around the issue on your map. Go into the preferences and then goto document and there is two options for Optimizing saves select the Smaller Files one and your map will be publishable. If you do not select it your map will take up 12mb on Battle.net the reason for this is your custom loading image and its not compressed :P
hm ive tried the "smaller files" option but it didnt work.
so as tazeran said my game variants are fine, and he could upload the map, it must be my slow internet forcing the "gateway_down" error. though im wondering cuz jackolas said its because of the game variants.
anyways, thx to both of you for testing this out for me. ive a good feeling now since the upload works with a fast internet, so i can continue my project.
So I know your map will publish just fine as I was able to test publish it with no issue with the smaller files options set... The slow internet will cause issues because it does require that the client be able to connect to the gateway... and it must send a ping packet every once in awhile if its not able to do that it will disconnect you which will return back that error.
Is this only editor bug related, or I can upload things that looks bug, but in real Bliizzard didnt implemented stuff to do that.
Like this: http://www.sc2mapster.com/maps/warring-factions/images/7-vision-bug/ = if you dont have terrain the sight of the units will be miss placed under the unit on the background image.
If the map is broken upload it :P That is the point of the group is so that it makes it easier for Blizzard to find issues with the maps and resolve them.

I hope this is just my fault and I hope someone can tell me where I messed up.
Somehow, the nuke ability is killing invulnerable units.
In this test map, I messed with the nuke ability on the ghost so that I don't need a nuke to use the nuke ability. The SCV on the map is flagged as invulnerable. If you target the SCV with the nuke ability, it dies. :(
EDIT::: I managed to make a virtually identical ability that doesn't kill the invulnerable units, but I still don't think this should have been a problem in the first place.
Invulnerable is just another unit flag in sc2. Its just like air or ground. If a unit is invulnerable, it cannot be damaged by everything which filters invulnerable, but it can be damaged by everything, which does not check for invulnerability.
For a true invulnerability, try to use a behavior or make sure, all of your damaging effects cannot target invulnerable units.
Fixed! Shawn helped me, I was foolishly forgetting to remove "Actor Creation - Model Swap" in my editor.
[s]Got myself this nice little problem, a custom unit of mine - which is simply a vespene geyser with renamed actors that use the "ArtifactShrine.m3" model - has stuffed up since moving my map from one computer to another. The model refuses to show up now and instead I'm stuck with a vespene geyser on the map, in fact changing the model to anything else does nothing and I have even tried duplicating the Vespene geyser again and remaking the unit, something has bugged up and have had no luck fixing it, even after sending my map to fellow mapmaker Agouti.[/s]
take a look at this if you have the time. tried to set the marines, firebats, ghosts, and medics back to -1 supply as apposed to 1, which i had it at inorder for units to create there own supply, but now i need to limit players triggers to if that player has 150-200 units to attemp to reduce lag. , gave the barracks 200 food, the barracks will no longer make a add-on, and no units spawn at all for players,
It seems that, no matter what I do, the "Actor - Create Actor Scope" action in the trigger editor gives an error: "Could Not Create Actor Scope". Even on a new map with nothing on it, it gives the error.
The real kicker is that, after it gives this error, I can set the newly created actor scope to a variable, run a Kill Actor Scope action, and it works perfectly.
Can anyone else confirm that this extremely annoying error is impossible to get rid of?
Hello! before the last patch my map was 100% working, but now, im trying to upload it and its stuck at 0%... i just edited theloading screen and some behaviours names..
i already did this:
-Deleted Triggers
-Deleted Descriptions
-Players ( set to Red and blue as Users )
-Variants ( set to default 1v1 )
-Changed map name
-Deleted units/doodads
-Changed map bounds to Small
Its just a small square without ANYTHING, and its still getting errors, i know that this doesnt matters, its just a variants problem but i changed them but its still not working

Yeah, what taze said, ;).
K this map shows a potential bug in the get and set functions for camera rotations.
Thanks.

That was the original problem. The way it was, it completely ignored the search filters. I've already fixed it, but thanks anyway.
