So I duplicated a hydralisk. I copied it's actor, attack actor, model, and weapons. I also duplicated the effects such as the launch and damage for the weapon. I added them all up together, linked them right on the actor, changed the model to a hydralisk (because it messes it up when you duplicate a model) and then I also modified the damage a bit.
The problem is that when I use my custom hydralisk to attack, it shoots it but it doesn't show itself launching the attack. You know how the hydralisks raise their wing things so it looks like they're shooting something? Mine doesn't do that. Instead all it does is just sit there in a standing animation and shooting some spikes. I want it to show the range attack animation of the hydralisk. Can anyone help me please?
Thank You!!
PROBLEM FIXED: Just needed to change the hydralisk actor itself instead of the hydralisk attack actor.
NEW PROBLEM: "Damnit. Now I have a new problem. It's more severe now too. My problem is that when I kill anyone with the hydralisk, the game crashes. Why is that?"
@chanchiem:
You must look under the actor tab in the Events.
When you're there, replace any field using the original hydralisk weapon with your new weapon. As you do that, be sure to fill the field just as they were (when changing weapon the field just next to the weapon field will be reset).
That's a tutorial on how to create units from scratch. It works. Duplicating is way more complicated than this, trust me. There's no need to make sure you've copied all the essentials, renamed everything, etc etc
It's 3 short steps in the Data Editor, really. Under Units, Add Object, (follow guideline in tutorial), under Actors, Add Object (follow guideline). Now, under the Actor you just created, you have to link the two (and add all the sounds.) Done.

Thank you so much! This worked!! I should've thought about the hydralisk actor itself instead of the attack actor haha. Thanks!!

Follow the tutorial. :)
Thank you very much also! I'll learn from that :). Now I know to not duplicate as it is a pain in the @$$ lol :D. Thank you both!! If only I can give you guys like points or a cookie or something :D. Really helpful people :)
You really don't need to dupe the model if you are leaving it the same, you only need to dupe items you are going to be changing.
Most commonly the Unit, Effects, Actors, Weapons
I would suggest starting again and making doing each change one by one, duplicate all the things you want to change and adjust them one by one and test after each one.

Out of curiosity, how'd you do the burrowed version to work?
@AegisRunestone: Go
I didn't. I didn't add burrow to my unit.
