I'm trying to achive a sort of bullet trace effect. I use a beam (from ghost snipe ability) and I want the beam to be launched from my units weapon but it shouldn't stay attached to it (like when the void ray moves the beam moves with it, I don't want this).
Well, if I create a beam like this, it does not stay attached. However when I compare my actor to the void ray actor, every relevant thing seems to be the same (every site operation for the attack acktor is the same, for the beam everything is implicit or disabled).
I wanted to create a beam attached to the weapon, however I was not able to find the field responsible for that until now. The attaching to the target works fine usually, though.
Do you use action actor to attach the beam? I don't really understand. I want the beam to leave from the weapons attach point just dont want it to stay attached, using action actor preferably.
