I have an ability that attaches a neural parasite tentacle to each unit within range. I had it working briefly, and then changed some things, which suddenly caused the following issue. The problem is that I can't remember WHAT change brought it on.
Now, instead of creating a tentacle to each enemy, it creates one tentacle, which shoots more or less straight up in the air instead of moving towards a target and then, without that first tentacle attaching itself to an enemy or disappearing, another tentacle is created out of nowhere, which attaches itself to a single enemy. That's it. So how do I go about a) changing the tentacle to create 1 tentacle per enemy and b) make the initial extended tentacle attack actually move towards the enemies in question.
Right now my ability works like this: Search Area > Launch Missile > Persistent (with damage periodic). The effect itself works fine though. The damage and life leech work without a problem.
For actors, I have a Site, a Model, and an Action. Duplicate your own Neural Parasite model and you'll see five actors (two of which I decided I didn't need...I think they did sounds or something) and the three I'm using. The only real changes I made to these actors was to ensure that their Events referenced my Launch Missile and Periodic.

Thanks to anybody who has an answer!
Could really use some help on this...the ability needs to be working for the game to be released.
I managed to fix the missile problem, but there is still only one tentacle. I need it to create one tentacle PER TARGET instead of just 1 every time.
Wish I could help. I bet it looks neat though.
Super easy. I just did it, and I didn't make new actors, copy anything, whatever.
I just tested it out VS 9 units, a mix of Marine, Firebat, Marauder, Ghost. All got mind controlled, each has a tentacle, and it works just fine.
Plus it's super badass neural parasiting a huge group, lol. If only it was like that online!
Really? I tried that to no avail. Grrrr...guess I should just copy it again.
@wingednosering: Go
Just have your actors you want linked properly, then just fix/add the proper search area.
