Hmmm... no i'm trying to basically "delete" terrain so that you can see the space background with all of the planets and stuff. I don't know how to do this, nor do i know how to get the space background to show up in-game rather than just in the editor.
Yes, I realized that. But the method I provided you with should do that if you've got a space platform tileset?
Actually, I'm right, in fact. I just tried it out. Make a new map with the Avernus, Braxis Alpha, Castanar or Ulnar tilesets, follow the steps in my earlier post, and lower some ground.
i just tried exactly this and it didn't do anything. my original base height was 8.0, if that makes any difference.
::edit::
Just realized i should be more specific (never know): i created a map at 8.0 base height, made some man made cliffs (upward), then followed your steps, but no dice
I don't know how to do everything that you want but I do know that part of your solution is in the
Map> Map Textures... > Modify > Background Model (Fixed) and Background Model (Not Fixed)
If you open a map that has space debris or a planet in the background than going to that sextion will help with getting things like space debris and planets or a sun to show up in the background.
Hey. Digging up really old thread but I cant find any recent posts.
I am trying to make basic space map using Braxis Alpha (Space Platform) tileset.
So in editor I can see the background + asteroids but in game only asteroids appear. I have looked skybox data things in editor but these seem to be ok. Any idea what I am doing wrong?
I found solution, it was really simple. I just had to delete and recreate camera again! I changed some old tileset to Braxis and I did not update the camera.

Is the only way to make space platforms by lowering the terrain super far?
@ResolveHK: Go
bump halp
Data > Modify Height Field > Unmark "Retain Existing Heights" > Set "Base Height" to -2.00 > Press "OK" > Lower terrain.
If you're talking about a way to circumvent that and get more than three layers of cliff in one map... That can't be done by conventional means - yet.
