So far my experience here hasn't been great, post here only if you with to contribute, being negative only makes the site look bad.
And this site is awesome, so here go.
How do you create a custom cliff? I assume they are M3 models, and there seems to be a randomization involved to keep the cliffs
from looking the same. How do you create your own?
I assume it involves importing some M3 and then modifying, it would be really useful for making truly customized maps. thanks.
Ya, so very possible. I just deformed the current ones up a bit to make them "spiky" but you can so totally grab a cliff mesh (they're tiny pieces that look like this):
You can modify them any way you wish. They're 4 different pieces per cliff (there's three sets of 4 pieces per cliff type) For example, those screenshots only have modified "down" "natural" cliffs There's also 4 other pieces for first level natural and for second levels too. Same should apply for man made cliffs.
Then you have to export the whatever model you made and import using the import manager in GE under the same original path of the cliff. And it should replace them.

something that helped me was using "Raise" and "Uniform" to create diffrent height cliffs.
You're pretty much right, you should be able to create custom cliffs using "cliffs" in the data editor along with your own models
You mean like this but better?
:D

So much potential for a Mt Rushmore competition!
Using that method mentioned xcorbo, will it turn a melee (vanilla) map into a custom map so to speak?
