Perfect Soldiers
PERFECT SOLDIERS
"Perfect Soldiers" is a 30-mission trilogy campaign consisting of 3 parts: Crimson Moon, Amber Sun and Aureolin Eclipse. The campaigns were not designed with sequels in mind, and yet sequels they acquired anyway, and now they're all gathered here together so that players can easily access them at the same place.
Though this is primarily a terran campaign, there are some missions in Aureolin Eclipse that let you play as protoss.
Story
"Perfect Soldiers" has a dark, twisty story that's full of memorable scenes and moments, populated by characters that you will both care for and hate. The campaign begins at the intersection of two plotlines: a group of miners that have travelled to the remote world of Roverville in search for fortune, and a Crimson Moon assassin on the hunt for a dangerous terrorist threatening to bring chaos to the sector. As the story progresses, more and more characters enter... until the final showdown in Aureolin Eclipse's last mission.
How to play
- Download the files to your computer, and unzip.
- The maps should be placed in folders named "Crimson Moon", "Amber Sun" and "Aureolin Eclipse" (depending on which campaign you download) in the "Maps" folder. If the placement is wrong, the maps won't connect (but they can still be played).
- No mod is required, except for Aureolin Eclipse. Place the file "AEmod" in the mod folder and you're good to go.
- When starting the campaign, use the mission launcher, which lets you choose which mission you want to play.

Shout-outs
Though the project is all mine, I'd like to extend my thanks to the following:
- Tyneara and the rest of the Custom Campaign Initiative for helping build a campaign community.
- The creators of the SC1 remake campaigns, from where I found the inspiration to using custom music and making atmospheric intros.
- OneTwoSC, for his Youtube video of how to make a snow tileset.
- Terhonator, for his mission launcher.
- The guys over at the Map Art Thread on the Team Liquid forums, for much visual inspiration.
- Jayborino, for his playthroughs on YouTube and endless support.
- All my testers, for their willingness to play the bugged, unfinished versions of the maps.
- Last, but certainly not least: everyone who plays the campaign, and everyone who gives constructive feedback!
sorry but something wrong with the download link
the guide said place map file in folder name Crimson Moon or Amber sun
but when unrar download link only have 10 map for Aureolin Eclipse?
When I tried to set a shortcut to launch the Aurelian Eclipse mission launcher, it says that the map or the mods associated are no longer available. Can someone help with this problem?
The planetary fortress hotkey and placement on the command card takes over the Rally setting on Amber Sun 07. You can see it in Jayborino's videos here: vs
This breaks my grid hotkey setup. Is there some simple change in the editor I can make to fix that temporarily?
On another note, on Amber Sun 05, the primal zerg forces didn't take out the the first transport like they did in Jayborino's playthrough. The quick fix was to psionic lash a tank or a banshee from the first group and run away!

You can fix the localization issues yourself as EivindL can't currently - in the editor you should be able to open up a localization menu and check your region which should fix it, but I don't know the details off hand. You may want to pose this question in the General forums. Alternatively, you could appeal to DudkiSC2 to make a quick update to fix this as he assisted in fixing nuke issues after the 3.0 patch broke a few things.
Hi, guys. I won't be able to fix bugs atm, as I don't have my main computer with me during the summer.

I'd like to second this comment. All Mission Statements and character dialogue are param/vale error or some such. I watched the first bit of the Jayborino screening to see that his worked, but don't really want to spoil the ending. Any fix coming, or ideas why it my be broken? All other missions have worked flawlessly. Thanks in Advance, really enjoying the gameplay overall!

So i just finished amber sun and the final mission every time a character talked it was just parum/vale/(insert line of numbers here) so i had no clue what was going on the entire mission
A small letter of thanks.
I've made review of your map, here :
Crimson Moon Review
Hi there.
This is an epic campaign. The story itself makes the whole thing worth playing and the various mission designs make it even better. I really had a fun time playing even though some of the levels are really difficult (Amber Sun "Desert Dogs" took me about 20 restarts). So i wanted to thank you for making this campaign as it was the best custom made I have been playing to this point. I really liked the stealth missions because you had some awesome ideas like the bossfights or CM "Perfect Soldiers" where you somehow had to support the Zerg. Furthermore i couldn't stop laughing when I realised that I just saved a bunch of prisoners using a cleaning unit.
Yet there are some problems that occured while playing and I want to share them here so you can eventually fix those issues.
! SPOILER ALERT !
Crimson Moon 4: At the time when picking up the bombs it appears that if you pick up the second bomb (the one that you have to go a longer way for) and stand at its location for a few seconds the task is completed without getting the first bomb. This eventually leads to the issue I faced in which case I couldnt plant the bombs on the beacon and at that time I wasn't able to leave the floor anymore,too.
Amber Sun 10 Part 1: When the mission starts I am already able to select Janus while it's obviously not intendet because I can't move or see him. But then after the first cutscene he suddenly belongs to my group. I put him aside because it would have been too easy and it's definitly strange when Henderson finally meets Janus while you already have him in your party making it 2 Januses on the screen.
Amber Sun 10 Part 2: I'm not sure if you wanted the Rose to damage itself again and again with the nukes. I didn't go for a single shot or ability because just jumping to non-targeted areas was pretty easy and I realized that it would kill itself fast enough. As the last battle in the campaign I think it would be more of a challenge if the Rose would only take Damage from the player.
Aurelion Eclipse 1: Not a bug but the "Boss Battle" at the end takes too long in my opinion especially because there is no addtional thrill in fighting the same enemy again and again even though the stealthed enemy idea is pretty cool. It would have been more interesting if you sent in a stronger version of the units after the first two are defeated.
Aurelion Eclipse 3: The "Nuclear Strike" Ability doesn't deal any damage in aproximately 50% of the time. So every try on that mission (which were many tries as I personally think this is the hardest mission in this compendium) I had to save the game before using the nuke so I could reload in case of a zero-damage-nuke.
Aurelion Eclipse 9: Nice concept but with one or two major problems. The exploding APCs are extremely useful because of their damage. But somehow they seem to ignore the fact that the nuclear silos are invincible. After I crushed the lower Expansion Base to get the ressources using my units only I wanted to smash the Tanks guarding the silo nearby with my APC. Unfortunately this destroyed the silo aswell making it impossible to get the maximum of 5 controlled silos. I don't know which maths system determines the number of nukes shot per Rose but smashing the silo definitly broke it because from that point on no matter how many silos I controlled, the enemy Rose would always launch 5 missiles on me doing full damage thus making it impossible to win. Addtionally it seems that the same bug from mission 3 appears here aswell. Even if I manage to shoot 4 nukes at the enemy rose he only loses 500 hp. Im not sure whether this was intended but I don't think so because 125 damage per nuke would lenghten the mission to some unnecesarry hours.
I hope this might help you in some way.
Tanks again for a great campaign.
Hello! I found bug in mission AE-7 The Mercenary and the Pragmatist. But may be it's not the bug. So, when you build cannons in the central area of the map, where DD gather its army, you may use your cannons against them and they still continue to be your allies, thou the timer is on. Thank you for your job!!!
Hm, I believe I found a bug.
The fight with Rosie was damn easy (amber sun map 06 I think). However, it might have been because Caine often nuked himself, while I was nowhere near. You can see on the minimap where I stood. I was standing, then he fired more missiles (2 maybe?) One of them at least always hit him instead of other areas.

Well, fine I guess. I defended crimson moon map 08 for 25 minutes on normal speed, then got crushed. Used godmode after that.
Perhaps my plan was wrong all along. Since the base was too big for me, I tried to do it with 1 base... [lifted the other command center & made it into a planetary]
Anyways. I finished Alzadhar yesterday and so far I haven't found any bugs. I mean, texture bugs, etc, which might have been caused by 3.0.
@valas991: Go
No, I don't plan to do difficulties, I'm afraid.
@JayborinoPlays: Go
Sure, you could do that.
Hey bud, I've got the itch to play again. Do you want me to try to record a bug list for patch 3.0?
@EivindL: Go
Thanks!
Btw, are you planning to add a lower difficulty? no need for all maps, just for the tougher ones, like crimson moon map 8...
@StDarkSc: Go
Started Crimson Moon today, Mission launcher didn't work for me either. (it took me to a emptty map, instant TIED) [do I need to open it via editor then test document btw?]
You have to open the 1st map, then play.
Hi. anyone can tell me why the campaing launcher of this campaing dont work with me? I start it and cant play anything, this campaing work with the new version lotv of sc2 ?
