how do i install the milky way editor so i can use it? i need some help. if you have my email address email me please or just reply to me on this
SUPEROUMAN: That's a good idea... Not just yet though.
Can this editor do 30, 33, 60 degree ramps?
Great job, I plan on learning to use this.
we will def be continuing this project, its just that we have been having so much fin with GE we've been busy, expect a new release sometime next week or so
Well, the GE is out. But DO continue this project, since you can put more stuff that blizz did to theirs.
Editor can't open maps on some computers. In some regional settings the decimal separator sign is not "." (dot) but ",". In XML files it is always ".". Problem occur when Milky Way Edit tries to convert string to float. The solution is to make strtofloat convertation independent from regional settings.
In Delphi it can be done by assigning a new value to variable DecimalSeparator:
There must something similar in Net Framework.
We are working on another release yes, currently we dont have planned the ability to sort out stff like that, but at least putting it in alphabetical order, or maybe some sort of filtering maybe
@litch100: set the settings in the editor using by clicking on the settings node, then filling in the property grid on the right
wave that anyone knows that is not open on the Milkway maps tells me the same thing but alos of System.IO.IOException: Unable to open "C: \ Users \ begebies \ Downloads \ Important \ SC2 Maps \ Custom \ test1.s2ma"! at SC2Map .. ctor (String FilePath, EditorForm f) at SC2MapEditor.EditorForm.Dialog_FileOk (Object sender, CancelEventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.FileDialog.OnFileOk (CancelEventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.FileDialog.HandleVistaFileOk (IFileDialog dialog)
I do support
Is there another update coming shortly? I'd like to see the Units and such categorized into their respective race and class, Terran Units, Protoss Buildings, etc
Ok, the editor isn't starting up for some reason. Everythign shoudl be working but my directory is c: not f:. I put the editor in the directory.
For those who are having problems, try changing the regional settings to US. For me the solution was to change Formats. Worth a try to fiddle around there and change everything you can to US step by step and try. :)
Im getting the same error as begebies... Whenever i try to do anything at all. open, save, i always get this error. can someone tell me what i am doing wrong so i can get started moding plz? Any help would be much appreciated

hmm.. why get an 'unsupported xml tag' error? plz help :(
and if open extr3m.s2ma with milky way editor.
get Throw an exception error
@sanktanglia: I didn't have the map open with any other editor, because I have no other editor installed. I was just trying to open the native Blistering Sands, if it's worth mentioning. I'll try it again later.
EDIT: I've noticed that the right game strings for the map load, but nothing else does and the error still occurs... Weird.
avgnerd: try turning off showmodels for now as it doesnt work too well, also i havent actually tested with a non-us client as i dont have one available, but im downloading one now, so i should hopefully be able to fix any issues you are having
begebies: im not sure what could be causing that, do you have the map open with any mpq editor/the game? im going to be adding more advanced error handling soon so ill be able to at least find the exact line you people are erroring on

Hi,
I can't seem to open any maps with the editor, although the mod assets seem to load fine (because I receive no error saying that the program can't find them). The following is the text I get under the error details:
Could someone at least give me a hint of what I'm doing wrong? Is there a special map I need to download? Thanks.
next release will support multi languages, got alot of new features, so dev has been a little slowed, will put out a new release sometime this week
