List of enemies in Ikari Warriors
Level 1
Level 1 gathers military units of all sorts, including buildings.
Soldiers
Quote from Soldiers:
Soldiers are pretty much everywhere, and you'll fight them by dozens. They're not much of a threat individually, but are pretty annoying in large groups and can be really hard to dodge when surrounding you. They also chase you with an electric weapon if you come too close to them. Strengths: In groups, throws grenades, good melee skills
Weaknesses: Grenades, vehicles crush and weaponry, homing shot, archon form
Grenadiers
Quote from Grenadiers:
Grenadiers are stronger versions of the soldiers, but instead of shooting at you from long range they will simply throw grenades at you. They are not a threat to mobile targets but watch out for their grenades if you ever fight them while other soldiers cover their back. Engaging them in melee can be deadly. Strengths: Deadly in melee, throws grenades
Weaknesses: Slow rate of fire, grenades, vehicles crush and weaponry, homing shot, archon form
Army Trucks
Quote from Army Trucks:
The army truck, on its own, is not a threat... but it will drop soldiers and grenadiers at strategic points to stop your progression. It is strong and pretty much unstoppable with conventional weaponry, so use your grenades properly before it unloads its troops and you can stay away from a lot of trouble! Strengths: Moving target, high health, can drop soldiers and grenadiers
Weaknesses: Grenades, archon form
Garages
Quote from Garages:
You will find multiple garages all over the place, mostly in the first level. These buildings spawn soldiers or grenadiers on a regular basis, so you might want to get rid of them before being overwhelmed. They are also a valuable source of items like weapons and vehicles, so don't forget to target them. Strengths: High health
Weaknesses: Defenseless, grenades, triple shot, homing shot, archon form, vehicles weaponry
Army Tanks
Quote from Army Tanks:
The army tank is one of the most common vehicle you'll have to fight... or dodge! These vehicles are so heavy that you risk getting crushed if you stay in their way while they move. They are quite fast, but their weapon is not. They attack very slowly even though the bullet they shoot is a much larger projectile. Strengths: Vehicle crush, large projectiles, good health,
Weaknesses: Slow rate of fire, grenades, homing shot, archon form, vehicles weaponry
Army Bunkers
Quote from Army Bunkers:
An army bunker is capable of shooting 3 fast projectiles towards you from a very long distance. They are a threat to even the most mobile target, highly resistant to damage, and most of the time standing on strategic points. They have a narrow field-of-view though, attacking them from behind is advised. Strengths: Long range, fast bullets, high health
Weaknesses: Narrow field-of-view, immobile, grenades, homing shot, archon form, vehicles weaponry
Helicopters
Quote from Helicopters:
Helicopters combine patrolling and watching over places. They don't negotiate: they just shoot in 8 directions at a time! Focus your attacks on them as soon as you can, or you will have a hard time finding a safe spot to stand on while in the heat of battle. They are a quite mobile high-priority target. Strengths: Weapon covering large area, good health
Weaknesses: Homing shot, archon form
Slaves
Quote from Slaves:
Slaves are like you: quick and deadly. Not much of a threat if you have enough room to dodge their fast shoots, but very deadly if they charge you or start gathering to stop you. They have the same weapons as you, so expect a tough fight that will require all your attention. In hard mode and above, you will fight some of them during the level 1 boss fight Strengths: Can use various weapon, deadly in melee
Weaknesses: Grenades, vehicles crush and weaponry, homing shot, archon form
Level 2
Level 2 gathers all types of enemies from the first level, plus the following aliens.
Zerglings
Quote from Zerglings:
Zerglings which are very common in the second level. Fortunately, they're also very weak. You have not much to fear from them unless they catch you off guard and surround you... They attack in waves, always watch your back and expect some random sneaky groups rushing at you. Strengths: In groups, can be summoned by drop pods and creep tumors, fast movement
Weaknesses: Low health, use melee weapons only, grenades, any weapon, vehicles crush and weaponry
Undeads
Quote from Undeads:
Undeads are very slow, very stupid, but you should take them seriously nonetheless. They also come in groups but are more resistant than the zerglings, making them a real threat if you ever get cornered. In a few cases you can use them as a bait, keeping you away from random shoots in large battlefields. Strengths: In groups, can be summoned by drop pods and creep tumors
Weaknesses: Low health, use melee weapons only, grenades, any weapon, vehicles crush and weaponry
Drop Pods
Quote from Drop Pods:
Every now and then, you risk being targeted by drop pods falling from the sky. If you're too close to the landing spot, you may be overwhelmed very quickly by the zerglings and undeads they carry. They can also spawn creep tumors that will make you move much slower. Strengths: Can't be targeted
Weaknesses: None
Creep Tumors
Quote from Creep Tumors:
It may not look like it, but creep tumors are your worst enemies here. They spread creep that will slow you down, and will eventually explode to give birth to zerglings and undeads tracking any enemy around... If you let them go wild, expect mayhem: any tumor still on the ground can be a landing zone for more drop pods! Strengths: Can summon zerglings and undeads, spreads creep, is a landing spot for drop pods
Weaknesses: Any weapon except vehicles crush abilities
