Hello,
i tried to use the upload insctructions, but it still doesn't work. I opened the map in the editor, chose a new Mapname and Author than given, published it with the locked option and uploaded it. But I still don't see this map in my SC2 game...
How can i make it work?
Is it forbidden to choose an other mapname and author, because the map is not from me? I read something about copyrights and that I could get problems. Did I hurt the copyrights of the creator of the map, by uploading it with an other Author and Mapname?
Edit: I found your map on the battle.net and so deleted my publishing of your map!
BR Bench86
thank you for the upload instructions. have fun!
I finally got localization to work; it was my error.
In the sc2Editor menu, under Map > Map Info... :
I clicked on the "copy to all locales" button before publishing, and it worked!
And yeah, localized menu item names are still not working for me; I still see Param/Value/E5032B142 or the like for each menu item. =( Thanks for trying to fix it though!
It's not a huge deal since it works fine when I test the document, so I can just memorize what each menu item name is.
This is what I do (in the US) to upload the map onto battle.net so I can test with it there:
1. Load up Hard Counter v5.8 in the editor.
2. Go to Map menu > Map Info
3. Add a name and author
4. Go to File menu > Publish
5. Choose either locked or unlocked
6. Click "Use for All Locales"
And now it should be ready to publish.
I like the map layout changes for 5.8. Automove is fine as is IMO.
Still can't upload. Thanks for trying the localization, but didn't make a difference for me. I tried several different versions, all with no luck and the same error. Tried opening, saving, etc without luck
Anyone out there in the US that can upload?
i want to keep this map slim, not more buttons than needed. if you want to deselect your units, click on the destructible rocks. but thats a bit annoying, i see. i for myself always control one side. i will think about it...
Thanks for fixing the colorproblem.
Wouldn't it be better to make two "automove on" buttons? Since it doesen't seem to be possible to fully deselect all units, I always have to start an attack, stop attack, and start it again to get both teams moving.
The color problem just occurs when you choose blue, because player 2 standard is also blue. I fixed this now.
The possibility to control units in fight during automove is intended as JJK73 pointed out.
The upload error on US: I have no clue. Maybe you can open the map with the editor, save it, open it again and publish it then? Or try older versions of HC? It works fine on EU, so maybe there is a problem with localization. I will run the SC2Localizer and upload HC v5.8 localized. Please try this version. Would be nice if you can publish HC in the states.
I don't have any of the color problems playing solo. Also, I like that you can take control of one side and not have them auto-attack when you select a given side - that's what lets you practice some different micro techniques. If you want the 2 sides to just bash into each other, then don't select either side. I don't consider this a bug, I think it's intended.
I still can't upload this for us on US servers - same error "Document does not have a name set".
I keep hoping that one of these days it will get worked out. Thanks for your continued support of this map Dingoo.
Its good to know.
Here is another bug if found: If you are playing solo, and have a unit of one team selected, the units of this team will not attack when autoattack is selected. If you haven't selected anything, both teams will attack correctly.
Your feedback is what motivates me to work on, thanks. Version 5.7 is on the way...
Nice map! Its my favourite unit test map. :)
It is very nice, that you can play 1vs1 against a Human now, but if you want to test alone something, both sides have the same color, which sucks alot.
Could you change this back, that the right side has red color again, when playing alone? That would be great. :)
Thanks for checking in Dingoo71, still can't upload. Same error message every time I try to upload it to enUS - "Document does not have a name set". Anyone able to publish to US servers?
Some other feedback - upgrade for Void Ray speed does not seem to work and I miss not being able to create additional units once the sandbox battle has begun - says I cannot spend another players resources.
Thanks for the time you've spent on this map dingoo.
If you are in EU, you can play 1v1 in the battle.net. If not, you have to publish it afaik. But I dont know about this error, sorry. Maybe you solved it already?
Love this map, been using it locally for testing for quite some time. Tried other unit testers and micro trainers and this one beats any other i've tried.
I'm trying to get this to work with 1v1 - was excited when I saw you added this functionality. I can't figure out how to get this to work so I can play with a buddy online. I've tried to publish it privately, but it gives me the error "document does not have a name set". What am I doing wrong? Or, is there some other way to play 1v1 that I'm not aware of?
Thanks for help.
So, localization hopefully done again in v5.3. Please report bugs, because 1v1 mode is not well tested yet.
I think the param errors are still a localization problem. I thought, this is solved by blizzard. But obviously not. I use enGB and it works in EU as far as I know. I can add enUS in the next patch by hand using mpqedit. (This is annoying, because every time I work on my map, the localization is lost again.)
And yes, the training game AI has some serious weaknesses, you named it. But right now I am frustrated with modding, spending so much time for... nothing. This map was popular in EU a few weeks ago and now suddenly it disappeared and I dont have a clue why. But anyway, maybe I get my motivation back through comments like yours. Thanks and enjoy it.
The mode where you play against waves of randomly generated computer controlled armies is really fun!
A couple of ideas and suggestions:
1. Certain units should spawn only with other units; for example, medivacs shouldn't be part of a randomly generated army that does not include infantry (marines, marauders, ghosts, etc). 2. Computer controlled vikings could land if there are no enemy air units. 3. Units with energy can have some random value of energy between 75 and 200; this simulates a real fight better. 4. Some text saying how much gas and minerals you earned after a round would be cool =) 5. Perhaps a button to set the timer to zero if you've picked all the units you need and still have 20 seconds left? 6. Randomly generated armies of all 3 races would be cool for people who play 2v2s, 3v3s, and 4v4s =D
Anyway, these are just ideas. Thanks for a great mod!
Thanks for implementing the 1v1 mode =)
When I try to publish it privately so I can start testing with friends, all the buttons show up as Param/Value/*. This isn't really a huge issue because I know what they are supposed to be, but do you know what I'm doing wrong? When use the sc2editor's "test" function, all the buttons show up fine.
