Dialog Item Templates
You can now change the UI using SC2Layout files
Use the "Create Dialog Item From Listed Template" Action to create a dialog item without having to look up the correct syntax for the Dialog Item Template.
Update
Now also contains the "Create Dialog Item From Listed Template with Details" action.
This does the same as the first one but will position and size the template using the details given.
Supported templates are amongst others:
- Command Card
- Minimap
- Resource
Known Issues:
- Minimap will ONLY display the complete minimap as far as you've seen it.
- pings will not be shown on the minimap
- Hide game UI will disable the hotkeys, even though you've created a Command Card using the Dialog Item.
- Command Card tooltips appear at the old location. their position is not updated.
- there might be some problems with the other templates as well.
Tried this and its very useful. I'm definitely going to use this!
Yea i tried it and it didn't show... I could indeed be doing it wrong. I'll try again later.
I think that the "Tip Alert" template is for displaying the tips you also see at the side of the screen in the sc2 campaign. which gives you some information about units/actions/stuff.
I don't think the tip alert works... or It's not the tool tip like I thought it was. If there isn't a tool tip template included I would very much like it! :)
Still crossing my fingers for hotkeys and the command card tips to be fixed some how ^.^
To be honest I don't know what they are all used for.
I just created this template bit to make a list of all the known templates (even though it is not known what they are all used for yet). and allow easy use of them.
Using this to display the Leaderboard. Crossing my fingers for a hotkey fix (like most others I imagine), but did have another issue. I am having trouble getting the tabs (Army, Income, Resources) to show the Gas and Mineral columns. Is there something extra that needs to be done to display these values.
I also think this page might benefit from a quick description of each of the included Templates. For example, I was guessing the Reveal template might be the list of players that shows up in the bottom right of your screen during spectating or replays but haven't had success in getting it to show. It would be useful to know what it should show.
SaucySC: sadly not yet, as soon as a fix is found it will be added to the asset. and I do not mean a workaround.
sc2 libraries get read as .xml files, that's why you get a wall of texts instead of downloading it. Simply right click and save target as to your desktop and change it back to a .sc2lib file and import it as library.
hmmmm
I would suppose that the problem lies with the website. or your local settings for downloading. I don't know how this is handled at a mac, I myself got Windows.
when i try to download it all i get is some text and no download. I use a mac if that helps.
I have included this Library in my map called "THE Card Game" and credited you from it. :)

Any chance there is one for a timer? not haven the timer window is also a pain
Hey, i have also messed around with this for quite a while and i have a few templates that you did not include.
There is a few ones that causes bugs, like the portrait for example, it makes StarCraft II when you end the current game. I think i found another path for it earlier today but i lost it.
Anyway, here is a few:
Portrait - "PortraitPanel/PortraitPanelTemplate"
Wireframe - "UnitWireframe/UnitWireframeTemplate"
Behavior Bar - "BehaviorBar/BehaviorBarTemplate"
Info Panel (Hero) - "InfoPaneHero/InfoPaneHeroTemplate"
Info Panel (Unit) - "InfoPaneUnit/InfoPaneUnitTemplate"
Leaderboard - "TriggerWindowPanel/BoardTemplate"
i have tried to add text, etc., into the leaderboard with no success, i will look into it later.
The Info Panel (Hero/Unit) forces the game to use the choosen layout.
So a unit without attributes can still use the same layout as a unit that have one. (personally i prefer the hero layout)
I am sure that i had a few more but i cant seem to find them. I will tell you if i find more.
Ohh, and a suggestion for your Library, add a Parameter for your Action Definition that allows the user to anchor the dialog item insted of always having top left. Just to make it simple.
I can't seem to get anything to load for me. When I try to open map it tells me how to import the triggers but when I try nothing shows up.
"Hide game UI will disable the hotkeys, even though you've created a Command Card using the Dialog Item." If you do not hide the game UI but just move it outside the screen (there was a tut on that) maybe the H-keys will work
Great finds, still stuck with some limitation though
This is excellent. Guess it spells the death of minimap images and other such work-arounds.
Helral, Thank you for posting this
I was wondering how to do this but I was too scared to ask a question and get a reply, "Learn how to trigger noob" T.T
Thank for this great tool! I WANT it now!!! :D
