BattleCraft
Push spawned attackers toward the enemy side to destroy their life crystal while protecting your own. Pick the right units over your enemy to push through your enemy's attackers.

I'm remaking a classic from SC1 for SC2.
Recommended players: 2 [1v1] or 4 [2v2]
Some details:
- Buy attacker armies at the top left corner of the map. Each individual unit purchase creates an army of that unit. These units will automatically attack toward the enemy's life crystal.
- Buy defensive structures and heroes at your Life Crystal. In addition to minerals, these special units require vespene gas.
- Mineral count increases automatically. To fasten the pace of game as time goes by, income and vespene gas increases as you kill more units.
- For more convenient purchasing, hotkeys are initiated at the start for each player. [1-4] are for buying attacker armies while [w] is the life crystal.
- You can still play with/computers by adding AI for a player slot. The AI just makes random units so don't expect it to be any good.

Yeah Bpayne, I used to do that too. Now I just quit instead of waiting around to find that half the people have left. It seems that before task manager wouldn't say that SC2 wasn't responding and was in fact "running." I may be remembering incorrectly though.
I had the same crash happened a few more times today. Seems like its limited to certain people again. Just had a guy say he hasn't had BC work for a few days in the lobby, and sure enough it hung when we launched :\.
Transmogrifier, whenever BC opens and the timer seems stuck at 10 seconds, I open the task manager immediately, and without closing any programs, click on the SC2 bar on my task bar (taking me back to the game). Granted, it still takes about 15-20 seconds to open the game up, but all the players that were lagging were either dropped or are about to be dropped in the lag box.
Tordeceybombo, the rating loss after winning has been happening to me also. Same deal with Player A's crystal being destroyed and Player B quitting the match right before units reach his crystal. Message 'Game cannot continue without opposing players' is displayed and you take about a 30 point hit to your ratings. I love playing Battlecraft but this is very discouraging. If you need any help with testing or anything to get BC back where it was then I'm your man. Look forward to the debugging and the new elites! Bpayne
Had the game crash/hang at load today. It sat at Waiting for players to load... I let it be for a minute or so and pulled up task manager. SC2 was "not responding." Only happened once so far though.
I had a rating loss again today. It was the same circumstance of the last opponent leaving before his crystal was destroyed.
WRT heroes, I had some fun with a decrepit adjutant today. Was it worth all the vespene? Who knows. It seems that if I've managed to save that much vespene I've already won the game anyway.
I also made a sanguineous predator to finish someone off today which I think made the difference. Was it better than spending vespene on minerals? I don't know. The one huge advantage the heroes have is immunity to armageddon. They also allow you to effectively unload a ton of cash in excess of 2000 minerals very rapidly.
I use heroes so rarely though it's difficult to know if they're worth it or not.
I have found that the non-elite and elite heroes are too expensive for their worth (rather have income or instant cash)
although they are "fun" when you get them out.I was hoping to generate some discussion if anyone has found a particular combination of them either offensively or defensively to be particularly effective in certain situations.
Check if the rating loss is still happening (in BETA)
Well options are at least saving now so that's a convenience. Camera options are also saved too.
Might reduce the vespene cost of later non-elite heroes so they're more accessible.
Elite heroes won't because they're ridiculously powerful (w/ appropriate backup). You deserve them if you manage to survive saving up so much vespene. If you didn't know, anti-air weapons consider ground/air-plane units (like collosi) to be air units, so Decrepit Adjutant can be used to really punish collosi combos.
It's good to see stats are back! I haven't seen any of the long lag the beginning, though we did just have a hiccup mid game, but it might have just been connection lag.
There's is still an issue with losing rating when opponents have left the game.
IS is just me or is the version of this map that is being played on EU battlenet different from the latest version here?
Bug report:
BattleCraft Beta. 2on2, standard mode, aggro off, fog on. I'm purple and I defeat teal, blue leaves for some reason before we kill red. I kill red and round 2 begins. I start with 12 income and 4 (!) vespene. Red's units go straight down to where blue would be, but his pylon is gone. I kill teal and red. Red never gets units outside his own lane after teal dies so I don't know if the pathing changed.

Just create a game and add some AI. Type -test before the vote countdown ends and you'll be able to control the AI's buildings too.
hey is there a way for us guys to enable tester mode for ourselves? I'd like to test various compositions, and mess around with the super heroes
No crashing, just the lag. That amount of lag definitely wasn't present pre-beta. Usually lasts 10 seconds or so at most. Doesn't happen all the time.
but it doesn't crash at least right? Lag thing is likely due to some person's slower computer initializing stuff. There's quite a lot to do, I'll try to figure out a way to optimize it or distribute the loading.
still getting the usual 'one person lags for about ten seconds' thing at the start of the game on beta
So any noticeably long freezes or crashes? I'm gonna try a reduced stat load system on BETA.
That could work if the popularity was more balanced. Even then it'll cause both maps to have lower numbers because popularity will be split. Since many people seem to be too lazy to go beyond the first page, total popularity will dwindle. It's a problem w/ the custom game system because you can't choose specific modes from a single map. I'm all for it if Blizzard would allow mode selection from an individual map.
What if there were to be two versions of the map: one always aggro and rated, the other always non-aggro? Fog and extravagant could be selectable options for each. That way players would always get to play whichever mode they're in the mood for and it might increase the competitiveness of aggro too.
Votes are saved as stats too so I don't know if it will or won't mess up things :]
Well I have no news to report (which is good news right?). No crashes or super long lags with the stats disabled version. Would it be possible to enable just the function that remembers votes? We're playing a lot of Standard, no aggro, no fog games since no one remembers to vote.
