BattleCraft
Push spawned attackers toward the enemy side to destroy their life crystal while protecting your own. Pick the right units over your enemy to push through your enemy's attackers.

I'm remaking a classic from SC1 for SC2.
Recommended players: 2 [1v1] or 4 [2v2]
Some details:
- Buy attacker armies at the top left corner of the map. Each individual unit purchase creates an army of that unit. These units will automatically attack toward the enemy's life crystal.
- Buy defensive structures and heroes at your Life Crystal. In addition to minerals, these special units require vespene gas.
- Mineral count increases automatically. To fasten the pace of game as time goes by, income and vespene gas increases as you kill more units.
- For more convenient purchasing, hotkeys are initiated at the start for each player. [1-4] are for buying attacker armies while [w] is the life crystal.
- You can still play with/computers by adding AI for a player slot. The AI just makes random units so don't expect it to be any good.

It's not a stat reset. It's just stats are temporarily disabled (no loading nor saving).
If you play the regular version "BattleCraft", your stats will be there.
We've been playing BETA and noticed the stats reset. Seems that the game loads up nice and quickly. I'll report back on what we find.
After a couple games are created for regular "BattleCraft", it should show up on the <Tug of War> filter list.
"BattleCraft BETA" will remain in the <Custom> filter list.
The freezing problem seems to happen more often as time goes by since the last stat reset. As more games go by, there are more chances for a specific "bad" pattern to be set on a bank to cause freezes. That might also explain why it happens almost always for some individuals but not others. Not 100% sure on this because it could be just people's slower computers taking too long to process intensive triggers like init trigger, life crystal destroy trigger, etc.
Actually being able to play the game has more priority than seeing some stats. I'm gonna disable stats (no loading & saving so nothing is being touched) on BETA while retain stats on the regular version. See if it still freezes at the start in BETA.
Tordecy isn't going to anything about the freezing problem.
Also, some suggestions:
Since the game is freezing at the start a lot, you should include debug information in the "Waiting for Players" message. Change the message before each action, and then people can tell you they saw "Waiting for Player STEP 5" and narrow down the problem. If the bug doesn't happen, they won't even be aware the info was there.
I stopped trying to play after 10 freezes in a row over a couple days.
Game balance wise, I'm not trying to be a smart-ass over here, just my personal opinion. 1.Why does it has to be aggro to be rated? It's always been that way, and I could never get it. 2.Scourge is a bit OP. At least make it 175, if not 200. 150 for an air unit is just too cheap. 3.Range of Spine is outrageous. It can reach ghosts, but should not reach colossus. On the other hand, cannon cannot even reach ghosts, just because it can attack both air and ground? 4.Hero units. Never really used them, never really liked them. Do they really worth the price? Because 3 gas is worth more then 600 imo. An instant 600 minerals could set the game, but those hero units didn't seem to need more than 600 minerals to counter even if it's mixed well with the army. (or maybe I just still didn't find a way yet.) But anyway, I'd still suggest to change some hero units to 1-3 gas. Some hero that can be bought with 1 gas should add a lot of fun for early game. 4.In a match up, Red, teal vs Purp, blue. Both red, teal and purp are pro players, but only blue is a newbie. Purp is having a really close match up with teal and red is just too good for blue. While red made a huge push, blue leave the game. Purp has a too big advantage at this point. and teal is just at an unfair situation. "YOU had a noob ally and I am in risk of losing big points" that doesn't seem right. That's all I can think of for now.
I've been a huge fan of this map, since the beta of sc2, but now I'm really disappointed in it now. Biggest reason, the freezing problem. Just some random pieces of information about the game freeze. -When does it happen? 1.When the game just loaded, and it says "waiting for other players to load". (This happens the most often) 2.When a player dies, the moment his crystal is destroyed. 3.When a player leave the game early (This doesn't happen very often)
-How does it look like? (on a windows 7) 1.The picture will stop moving but you can still hear the background music going on. Just the music. 2a. If you click on the screen, screen will go half white, and will ask you to either 2aa. Wait for the program to respond. Then the game will resume within 30-60 seconds. Then display all other players has been dropped. You will lose your rating, and gain a DQ. 2ab. Close the program. SC2 will end without hesitate. So my guess is there isn't a "fail loop" on my computer going on. 2b. Don't do anything, just watch the frozen screen. The game will "resume" after 30-60 seconds, only this time, it displays: Waiting for server [Surrender].
-What can I do about it? 1.QQ over here 2.Get pissed because my rating is stuck at C, whenever I get to C+ there gotta be 1 got damn game freeze. 3.Nothing.
-After you come back from a recover and win the game 1.Score screen shows as you win. 2.Replay can be watched. It just shows player(s) leave the game as normal.
A replay would be great :)
When you experience rating loss even after you win a round, do you happen to get an increase in number of Disconnects (DQ)?
Hahahah what?!... I just had the craziest game ever. One of my opponents had an invincible aggro marine. I saved the replay if you'd like tordecy.. it's quite hilarious actually. I was VERY confused, had to Armageddon to rid of it.
I LOVE your map, I just wish I could help with the bugs...
I don't even know how to figure out this bug, but something is really messed up with lag and ratings. I have observed a few times when the entire game freezes, then 1-2 people drop, it resumes, I win, and I lose rating.
Ive had it happen several times where units will make it all the way to my pylon and wrap around to almost the back side and when i spawn new units they spawn out front of pylon where its not possible to attack the units wrapped around causing me to continue to be attacked when i could easily fend it off but my units just take off and leave the enemies there and i die because of it.
Was wondering the same thing about the 12 instead of 13 income.
Was there a change to the 2vs1 bonus? I've seen people starting with 12 income instead of 13 but I didn't see anything in the change log.
@Zeban
Archons just got a 10 dmg nerf, though in my tests, archon/zealot + lings still beats marauder/ghost + lings (though interestingly, two groups of marauder/ghost will beat two groups of archon/zealot/marine). Tank/ghost always does well vs archons + lings. If they're mixing up their combos and adding lings you've got to do the same. Lurkers are also a fantastic counter for all armored units provided they have backup. I think archons are now ok as is.
I've never seen that message. The game would load, but the screen would be black for about another 30 seconds while it said "waiting for other players to load the map". Eventually the screen showing all the other players drop countdown appears with like 15 seconds left for each player. Usually one will drop. I can't recall much more details though.
However, it was working again just fine for me last night...
@ Docehedron
If your ally had reduced income then what would happen to him if your lane opponent killed you? It would then be like 12 v 6 income and he would get smashed.
Hard to make the game substitute for an intelligent ally. My Solution: Talk to them if you want teamwork :)
@Tordecybombo 1: I agree that the startup lag for this particular map is fairly heavy. 2: I feel archons are slightly overpowered. They are armored units so siege tanks or immortals should mow them down, but when you pair archons with a backup or zealots or zerglings, they do an excellent job of soaking up hits meant for the archons, and also putting in the fast hits that are so deadly to these units. Add to that the fact that archons deal splash damage (which is very effective against clumping air units) and they're just a super good unit in 90% of situations. A higher summoning cost or lower life total would probably balance them more (in my opinion).
Yes I've frequently seen that message. I can't recall if I did with this last occasion with the rating drop though.
it just crashes every single time after I load up the map and the pylon appears. Just says waiting for player for 30sec - 1 min and then I get drop. Sometimes i see other people get dropped before I do
