BattleCraft
Push spawned attackers toward the enemy side to destroy their life crystal while protecting your own. Pick the right units over your enemy to push through your enemy's attackers.

Search for "BattleCraft" on battlenet:

I'm remaking a classic from SC1 for SC2.
Recommended players: 2 [1v1] or 4 [2v2]
Some details:
- Buy attacker armies at the top left corner of the map. Each individual unit purchase creates an army of that unit. These units will automatically attack toward the enemy's life crystal.
- Buy defensive structures and heroes at your Life Crystal. In addition to minerals, these special units require vespene gas.
- Mineral count increases automatically. To fasten the pace of game as time goes by, income and vespene gas increases as you kill more units.
- For more convenient purchasing, hotkeys are initiated at the start for each player. [1-4] are for buying attacker armies while [w] is the life crystal.
- You can still play with/computers by adding AI for a player slot. The AI just makes random units so don't expect it to be any good.

Ooo a mini update! I noticed the changelog says that the income bonus is +2 instead of +1. Very cool! I also noticed that for every level I gain for just killing units, I also get income in increments of 2. This is making the game very speedy and it moves to higher tier units rather quickly. I had 36 income in a relatively short game and it was absolutely ridiculous (and fun!). So thumbs up on the update.
You know, I don't care about the new units so much as fixing the problems with 2v1. So annoying. It is not fair that the 2 team can force aggro mode.
I'm pretty sure you do lose rating for leaving before your pylon is destroyed. It's been awhile, but I checked when I first noticed people doing it and they did indeed lose rating and I gained rating and my rating persisted to the next game.
They should still lose rating and you should still gain rating. Haven't tested it w/ myself and another person 100% yet so i'm not sure.
I'm not sure if this has been fixed in newer versions, but I've been seeing an increasing number of people leave games before their pylon dies to save themselves from losing rating. Is there any way to fix this?
will do, thanks!
tordecy uploaded a test version. Search for Battlecraft in the create games section ... it's called Battlecraft BETA I think
Is there any way to get the new version (or at least a version with some of the new units) on NA server? I'm a huge battlecraft fan, and I'd love to play with the new system!
They were always like that since I introduced the vindicator >_>
Very cool! Queens and Archons both seem to be reduced to about 1/4 - 1/3 health if they attack and kill a Vindicator, even with the Vindicator not attacking them! Is this modified from how they were before? It seems they should stomp psionic units. I'll have to try it out again vs. archon zealot.
Thanks for the reply. If I recall, if someone drops at the start the solo person's income goes up to 12 from 10. However, if the game loads 1v2, everyone starts with 10.
Thanks again for the response, and also for all the hard work on the game in general.
Not necessarily leaver protection but when your ally's life crystal is destroyed, you get a small fraction of his income and vespene.
In the case where the game starts at a 2v1, I think the single member team starts w/ additional income. If not I'll have to adjust that so it does in order to make early 2v1 games less difficult for the single player.
I don't think I can prevent a game from starting at the lobby. What I can do is if after the game is alread loaded, i can detect a 2v1 at the start of a game and adjust some things.
I'll probably update BattleCraft 2.3.3 on EU after I'm satisfied with 2.4 so I can update it on both NA and EU.
@Transmogrifier - Since I can't implement return damage the way I want efficiently, only the first hit from an attacker will reflect some damage, moreso if the attacker is psionic. In addition, the attacker will be afflicted with "psionic poison" and lose health periodically for 5 seconds after the attacker's last attack on a vindicator. Psionic poison is applied on any type of attacker unit, only that it's much more effective on psionic units. You can test it in test mode if you want. Type -test while in single player before the vote ends. Create some vindicators, some non-psionic and psionic units. Command your non-vindicator units to attack your own vindicators and observe how the health drops for the attacker.

I'll tell you guys some damage values that are hidden from the interface:
Warp Prism - while an enemy unit is in the rip-field, it will take 10 damage every 0.6 second. 5 damage if the unit is massive.
Vindicator - vindicator takes 10% less damage from all non-psionic unit attacks, 30% less damage from all psionic unit attacks. The initial attacker hit reflects 10 damage a non-psionic, 30 damage to a psionic. Psionic poison deals 2 damage per second to a non-psionic, (8 + (5% of max health)) damage per second to psionic so psionic units with higher health (like archons) will take more damage from psionic poison. Psionic heroes are not effected by the max health damage modifier.
Exemplary Sniper - snipe deals 1000 damage to anything (including buildings), automatically casted every 10 seconds, has 26 range
Damage level upgrade applies to all of these.
I'd like some leaver protection, maybe getting the income of the leaver so you on your own will still stand a chance?
also, the euro version is called Battlecraft 2.3.3, does this mean it never gets updated, because that would suck.
Can anything be done within Battlecraft to discourage punks from starting games 2v1? I play late at night and now that BC has fallen off the first page you can get stuck with the same opponents many games in a row. LukeD and bearfish and the latest idiots to start games 2v1, but they certainly aren't the only ones.
It gets really old. I'm trying to play a lot to do my part to get it back to the first page, but after 2-3 games of going 1v2 I give up.
As an example of a fix: If the game is "open to public" it can't be started unless the teams are even. If it's something only Blizzard can deal with, I guess I'm done playing games at non-peak hours cause their response time is measured in months and years... if ever.
Thanks for your time.
Do vindicators return damage to their attackers a la Diablo II Iron Maiden or just do bonus psionic damage? If they return damage taken, is that only damage taken from psionic units?
oh yea ill prob do that
Well what im really asking is on the starcraft two client it claims to be Battlecraft 0.26.
this is a HUGE update. Im wondering if its extremely necessary to only give it a 0.27 title.
I personally think itd attract more attention as a .5 ~ 1.0 update to its title
EDIT: I think the beta thing is a good idea, however.
Although I'll prob just move the current BETA to BattleCraft after I finish round extension and a few other small glitches.
Afterwards I'd finish the new heroes and put those in BETA first. Repeat testing, then put into stable etc.
And THEN afterwards I might test Stakes mode. Hopefully I can ever finish implementing it since it's a bit complicated.
It would be published as the same name. Guess you could say "BattleCraft" would be the stable version while "BattleCraft BETA" would be the unstable test version.
Battle.net version numbers are just the numbers of times I published excluding Beta publishes so it's different from my versioning.
If I deem BattleCraft BETA to be working well, I'd just move it to "BattleCraft". Start-up "BattleCraft BETA" again when I want some new tests :)
Probably sounds confusing, it is :x
Just thought i'd like to bring it up again that im crazy anxious for the beta map to be released in full? Are you going to name it Battlecraft v1.0? =o or just V0.9
