While I really like the idea and the concept, you'd have to think realistically about this. Music, being the main theme of this game, is extremely personal and the sole purpose that games like Audiosurf and the likes have gained popularity is because you can play any music you want. That simply isn't possible in a game like SC2. Either people would have to turn the sound of (that would suck, as it's the game's main theme), or you would have to do a song for each of the popular musical tastes, and after that specific group has played that specific song, then what? I'd be damned if there isn't some way of getting this concept to work though.
If you have the time on your hands, it'd only take about 1 gazillion lifetimes to coordinate all the songs ;)
...have you been looking at them but never felt like joining in?
Been stalking this thread the last few months. One night I think it saw me looking in through the window, but I'm not quite sure. Anyhow, even though it might be a rush, and it doesn't know me, I'd like to start a serious relationship with it.
The reason for my earlier post was to point out this thread has no point. Warcraft and Starcraft are based on ridiculously common concepts in western society that aren't AT ALL hard to think off. It's similar to Sc2Mapster's Mapcraft vs TeamLiquid's Mapcraft. The reason I was never fussed by their show's name is because let's face it: "Mapcraft" is a name anyone who plays StarCraft could come up with. I don't think TL 'stole' our name, they just came to the same name when thinking things through.
It's the same story here. Warcraft's Orcs are based on mythological Orcs from writings from 18th century romanticists, who in turn based their Orcs on writings of 7-12th century monks who had copied old Roman stories who in turn 'stole' their Orcs from the ancient Greek society. And I doubt they 'originally' came up with it either. The reason these "X stole Y from Z" debates are pointless when it comes to simple mythological creatures is because all of these things are literally centuries old, and it's all a ripoff anyway.
You are truly the wisest man on this side of the earth. Nothing else to do about this post than to agree with it.
-I'm assuming you are located on either side of our planet, right?
Every man is entitled to his own opionion. I just got to playing the beta in the last betakey-wave, and I think it's perfectly fine atm. But I didn't experience the beta in it's early stages though.
In melee maps there are random tips on the loading screen. So far the only thing i've achieved is to get a single tip, but how do I randomize them from a selection of tips?
EDIT: Also, tips seem to be either Protoss, Zerg or Terran. So there must be a lot of customization available?
I'm not going to take the job, but I just wanted to add that it might be hard for you to edit the text, if it's made in a professional program without you having bought or buying the software yourself. I think the smartest thing would be to ask the artist to make the changes, fyi :)
That's the wonderful thing about karma; you thumbs up whatever you feel deserve a thumbs up. Whether that's a funny remark, something you agree with or a classy reference you caught is up to you. Karma is supposed to represent the 'general reputation' or 'how well someone is liked in general' for a person, keeping in mind the fact that this doesn't mean low-karma people are automatically not liked. Since bad karma doesn't exist in our perfect little world here, you can generally do as you please with the system.
Then I would love to transfer your reputation to me, thank you :D
I mean that none of us has played through the whole game, and that we don't know everything about how the game is possibly going to change in the later difficulties. Of course they can have made wrong decisions, but I'm sure that they've seen this game from all possible angles and that they've considered a lot of possible choices and THEN they've made the decisions. And I was talking specifically about Blizz, not other developers.I have faith in them :)
The new reputation thingy got me confused. Are we supposed to 'like' posts that are helpful or posts that are funny? Or both? Is reputation to be seen as a professional map-maker or as a funny guy? Or is it a mix-up?
On a serious note, Blizzard is the ones with the knowledge here, you guys don't know jackshit compared to them. All this talk about 'casualizing' the game. They know exactly what we want at Blizzard. They've got the game covered, and everything they've done, they've done for a reason.

Thinking about doing my first entry here :) Terran required?

Models like 'Terran_tarmac_01' works perfectly as splat-models, and that's not a splat model

Ask yourself this: Would you rather give your beta key to a bearded child than to a manatee? The answer is simple.
