    Whaaaaaat so much potential here mate. As long as you are creator the posibilities are endless.

    Well I would probly want a scv defence map. One of the problem would be less entries to middle would be the optimal build so creeps would have minimum ways of attacking you. I could make the enemies make their own paths too.

    Another idea would be somekinf of empire builder. Attack other players, build your own base. First to gather x amount of something wins (kinda vague idea).

    Also im thinking about how to gather resources for building. Digging paths would give you stone...some buildings would dig paths themselves to gain coal or something?

    Since you cannot really change the textures I could put resources (mineral patches) around the map. So you might want to take specific direction. Like in mineralz....

    Well I hope it doesnt turn out to mineralz v3. I want to create something new. And again Im just brainstorming myself here....

    since I said I do a video today, here it is.

    I most likely wont be revealing anymore videos here (perhaps with ducky only).

    Had to do this myself even though I tried looking for help lol. Still a few bugs that Ill have to look into.

    edit* and yea I could use this digging function with the random terrain function if I so desire. Will have to see what I come up with.

    It took like 30mins to rewrite the code :D. The thinking process took quite a while, I feel a bit dumb now, but making this took so long cause I didnt undestand how this shit works :/

    how is it possible that when I try to save computer crashes and map broke....

    I had already way improved the mining and it was coming pretty good...lost probly like 4-8h of work :(

    Uhh....people just post whatever they like, nothin you can really do about it. Even if I try to "force" people to give feedback, usually they dont do it the proper way so better thread would be to teach how to give proper feedback.

    btw is it common in other coutnries too to be "forced" to read books in school? I suppose I did read 1 or 2 good books but still not really my thing (you needed to read a book and then make somekinf of presentation or essay from it).

    and yea reading books would be good for your grammar :/

    I couldnt get it working so whatever......

    I should try to improve the code or remake with other style if I want this to be actually usable.

    Kinda anoyed from the fact that it doesnt work and dont have any simple way of fixing it :(

    • edit* After testing it also appears that terrain deformers dont always create samekind of deformation when you apply it to a point...so thats why its really not possible to make it look perfect....

    As for fixes...I suppose I could try to create double wall of blockers to prevent bugs or even better would most likely be somekind of checker for holes that runs everytime you have mined something (this might be a bif unefficient method)

    Oh well, I will continue on trying more stuff...

    I didnt think it was relavent. Since I want to get working mechanics. I suppose Ill try to get a video out today to show what I mean by mining. I think it has lot of potential use (more than my random terrain :/).

    I wonder how could this be implemented. I already have a small demo of it using terrain deformers and pathing blockers but its so buggy since pathing is currently extremely hard to handle with a sane way....

    First

    Best way to do a mining map would be just to put the whole map full of 1x1 pathing blockers and remove them when you "mine". It seems highly unefficient, but even minerals has like tons of rocks and it seems to work just fine so I wonder if this is viable.

    Second

    Im currently just generating pathing blockers when the worker "digs". There are quite a lot of problems here...you cannot detect height of point (it doesnt change if you use terrain deformer), you cannot change pathing without using pathing blockers. So its extremely hard to make it bug free, smooth and efficient.

    Third

    Third option would be (this havent been tested) to set points height with triggers. Im not sure how the set point heigh works but you can set and detect it with triggers (does set point height mean 1x1 or what? you cannot set region height). The downside with this would be that sort of hard to make and might not be as smooth as other sollutions.

    What you guys think? I will probly play around a bit more with my current system and try to get it working. I might even throw a video out. Probly wont have time to work too much with the editor, but I would like to hear if anyone else got sollutions or suggestions how to do this.

    I want it, but its fairly hard to do in sc2. Settlers 2 was awesome but not really multiplayer game and black and white is also not really multiplayer game. So I want something as awesome as those two but with multiplayer elements.

    So far Iv been thinking something along:

    • You start with randomized map, random rocks trees etc...
    • You have a god charecter that creates stuff (starting base for example)
    • The AI will do the work depending what structures you build (hunters cabin, quarry, farm etc...)
    • Better your town does the more powerful the god will get, then you can summon more workers, better spells, rocks, trees etc...
    • At day you are left alone, at night enemies come to attack you

    The game cannot be like black and white or settlers 2 since it would cause lagg and wouldnt fit multiplayer, so Im thinkin of creating something between them.

    Im not really looking feedback, but more of a brainstorm wheter I can make interesting mechanics and fun gameplay. Ideas of structures build, and perhaps spells.

    First you would probly start with setting up main base. You need wood and stones to build more structures (house, hunters cabin, basic defensive structure, basic wall). Defensive structures would probly consume somekind of element, like in settlers you needed sword and shields for soldiers.

    Naturally this could be just fine having a builder without any spells. Like the builder could also build trees or something like that....so I suppose making something like settlers 2 would be already awesome

    begin brainstorming!
