Another cinematic after a long while. I thought I would wait for Hots editor before making more cinematics, but here is a little something. Probly not my best battle cinematic, but tried a couple of new things...
I would like to say its on hold. As some videos show it was playable but it has some flaws that are hard to overcome. Main issue being combos can become easilly too repeative.
I got so many projects that I could work with, but I think I will return to this someday. The pvp was fun for me but it seems majority of people were interested in. And the PvE part is a bit harder to do. Its fun, but gets repeative relatively fast.
Im glad I posted here. Thank for some of the awesome stories.
I got 1 year left of my school, so I will have to wrap that up and after that go to worklife for a while. Allthough I do feel like I should pursue other things than my current education.
Last summer didnt brighten my future as "electrical engineer" either. I spent 4 months on a shit job that let me down even further. The pay was bad, the job was bad, the people I worked with were bad...and it doesnt come much better when I think about future jobs, I could have a job of designing electricity for houses. That would require sitting in office 90% of the time and looking trought catalogues...I cant imagine that being fun for long...I would prefer programming over this...
Its still probly not all about programming for me, I do think puzzle solving would be more fitting to that. Like in one course I took in school. We programmed machines to move in a certain way (with "blocks") I had a blast doing it. It was rather simple but its fun to actually do stuff like that. Sadly this was only like one course and its only the bare basics of automation...I guess I might try to discuss with school if I could take some other courses and spend like a year mastering stuff so I could actually work with the cool stuff.
In the end so many factors affect wheter you get perfect job or not, but god I just cant see a bright future yet -_-....
To stay on sc2 or to switch to skyrim? that is the question...I suppose I should atleast check out the tools and perhaps even try to do something. World of skyrim is just so awesome I could easilly think stuff I would want to make.
Indeed these are pretty simple ones so its probly harder to explain these than to make this map and post here as attachment.
1. Set integer variable = number of units in unit group (owned by player1 in region x), then check if variable > 0 and depeneding on that issue order to attack.
2. unit dies, condition: triggering player = 1, modify variable (integer) +1, if variable = 20, create unit....
I get these moments every once in a while...I think I would be better programmer than Electrical engineer, which is my current occupation. It also seems programmers have lots of work (electrical engineers doesnt, where I live).
I would also be happier if I knew how to Java or C+. better, but without someone to teach me in a class and force me to learn it learing Java or C+ seems impossible. Its so freaking boring to look tutorials or read books...This just came in mind since I saw Angry birds creators look for workers, and today Remedy looking for workers...It would be pretty sweet to make it into a big comppany. And if I wanted to work in automation (which is kinda interesting too) you would probly need to know C+ too, I can only program PLCs with freakin "blocks" :(.
Well Im still in school so who knows how much fun my career will be -_-...somehow im just so doubtfull, its just not same kind of passion than passion on creating games. Atleast I want to get out of school for a while I suppose....
ps. I know if you would work for comppanies you couldnt decide what you create, but I think it still could be a blast to create a great game with a great team.
Im making new battle cinematic...what a waste to make it without hots cinematic editor, but Ill do it anyway....already 30 seconds of content but it needs
a bit more polishing...
I cant remember myself playing anything other than sc2, skyrim and witcher 2...kinda weird though since I have seen many cool games I would like to try (I should try mass effect series at somepoint and bastion too).
Oh yea I tried magicka demo and I liked it...but never got around to buy it :/. I feel like game really has to stand out for me to want to get it (like skyrim did and it really delivered)
Ah finally this thread on the first page so I can post my feedback.
It was a fun game. Nothing seemed really wrong with it. Allthough I think it most likely is highly imbalanced, its pretty hard to say that when playing with random people and there are so many upgrades but you definetly should try to make it as balanced as possible. I dont really have anything negative to say about this, however I have some suggestions that might help you.
Towers seem like last resort thing, could you make them more useful somehow (noobs build them...ofc I build units over towers...)
Building size is kinda big. You can build like 3 structures and then its already as wide as the ramp. Dunno should it be smaller
I wonder if timed spawns would be better than the syncro button (you pretty much always want to syncro anyways). But I suppose I wouldnt change this yet atleast
Some descriptions were highly lacking. Like spell runes...no idea how long they last and how much they up my attack and such...so its even harder to evaluate the balance and usefulness of things.
Is it possible to have like 5 new custom resources (rock, tree etc...) and have them only be delivered to specific buildings? so you can only take trees to lumber mills etc....
humm? why wouldnt there be a building element. I was planning to make the building element for sure (dont you see how those 2 suply depots beautifully block the path). Also shoulod be possible to make 1-x supply depot wide paths.
It also should be possible to "reverse" the digging. So perhaps you would instead build walls rather than digging or both of them.
I just think this would be like awesome defence map, but Im still a bit afraid It would be too much like mineralz. Whatever I play I tend to take out the good ideas of other maps (wheter they work on my map or not)
But I keep on thinking of ideas before rushing further.

or just pick every unit and change unit property (movement speed)

Aint that desync more buff than a bug. Its better if you get your units clumbed up. Big balls of death rule!
