    What I really noticed is, Rodrigro found a way to achieve page 1 status. Page 1 of general forum is filled with a lot of threads started by you know who.

    posted a message on Dustin Browder talks about HotS POP SYSTEM

    Anyone remember the cyclic list they had for 2 days? That was brilliant, all they need to do is tweak that. The list is constantly changing. Lots new maps were popping up, and popular maps would often reappear while not burying other maps. That was a great system especially now that people can bookmark.

    Whatever system blizzard come up, they should have a list that is constantly changing.

    @RodrigoAlves: Go

    I like this idea too, its almost like a player-supported way of doing feature maps. If it works, it could be expanded so the top 5 or 10 maps are filled this way too. And maybe we can add map of the day too, for more daily variety.

    No I see it, I called chiq a fanboi in response to his troll comment. :) He started it! And I daresay, I ended it quite well with a faceplam to him when he outright trolled on his last post. :p

    @Chiquihuite: Go

    What's with this 'trolling' label when people disagree with your fanboi attitude? Trolling would be baseless hostility. Rod's point was that blizzard was attempting a new way to make their maps more popular. And the stars do that. The first thing people notice on any given page, is the star next to the map. People will click and check that out first. That's what I was talking about.

    When blizzard removed feature maps and peg their maps on front page instead, that earned the player hostility. The star system seems like another attempt at attracting players to certain maps. Are you seriously arguing, the star system won't attract players to those maps? (you haven't argued that point yet, so perhaps you know i'm right)

    See how I'm not making baseless accusation. When you make baseless accusation of others trolling because you can't argue, now that's real trolling. Its blizzard history of screwing over the players, that makes people distrust what they are doing.

    Furthermore, I like to say, I won't given them the benefit of doubt and think they were just trying to promote the starter edition. They have to earn my respect first. Instead, blizzard has been instilling hostility on the player base nonstop. And that's the difference between blind fanboism and a normal blizzard supporter.

    @Chiquihuite: Go

    You replied to the wrong person, that's obviously meant for Grenegg. He obviously isn't reading the forums and missed all the hositility toward blizzard's custom mapping system. Blizzard EARNED that hostility, and thus when they do stuffs like this, people questions. And he didn't read Rod's post.

    "Is Blizzard still trying to find ways to tweak the system to make their maps more popular instead of fixing the whole thing?"

    @maverck: Go

    Maybe Rod is right! Why put a star on our regular edition? Why not just have it for the starter edition only, that star is meaningless on our regular edition starcraft. So perhaps the ulterior motive is, they want their maps to 'pop' out! Lots people going to see a star next to the map and click on it. And some of the people who click might actually play it too.

    I'm NOT giving blizzard the benefit of doubt, they have to earn the benefit first.

    @h34dl4g: Go

    Yeah, I really wish people would pick an example where a map is unknown and has no fan base lined up before release. Mineralz is the perfect example, except a lot of people seems to think that map sucks. And its popularity is very misleading, that game has people afk in it for 7+ hours to get the unlock, so its really not all that popular as the hours suggest.

    Actually, what most people are saying the map sucks at getting people to play past page 2 maps. Page 1 only contains so many maps, and not every popular map can exist in page 1 at the same time. In reality, there's probably 100+ 'page 1' maps out there, but obviously you can only play about 10 of them. The old system lets you play ALL 100+ 'page 1' maps any time you want.

    posted a message on 1 Year of Starcraft. What Blizz brought to us...

    I can't believe people are using Elemental TD as example of a working system because it jumped to page 1 after release. Its by far the worst example! It was already popular before release - because its a remake of war 3. Ironically, if War 3 had b.net 2.0, elemental TD probably would never be popular in the first place. Case in point, where is the popularity of Elemental TD now? Its dropped by a lot and will be nowhere in a month.

    And look at Hero Attack. That author had been spamming Hero Attack for like half a year or more? And its just NOW getting to page 1. Obviously people love that map. How many popular map like Hero Attack were buried by the system? Special Forces is #2 right now, and that map is old. The first time I played that kind of map was when the system had a cyclic list and a special forces map popped up. Again, another popular map that got buried by the system.

    What's with the advertising your map so it'll get played (useless advice) going on? Civlization Sapphire, Zombie World War, Clash of Kings, are all recent maps that jumped to page 1/2 with no advertising whatsoever. They are fun maps that just came out of nowhere. Even Special Forces (#2 map with higher popularity than Desert Strike!) had no ads going on. Whereas people who make videos and spam like crazy never got their maps played. Look at Bounty, Meph, and Rodrigo, they did everything the blizzard fanboys tell them to do, and their maps are nowhere.

    The only new map that got to page 2 with a video is probably Starcruisers. :) That video got so much attention in this site and blizzard's forum, the players actually went out to play that map. They wanted to play so much, the map got to page 2 briefly. After being able to play it a few times, they stopped. Other than Starcruisers, there's really no original map that's on page 1/2 that got there due to advertising.

    [lastly, Hero Attack might overtake Sotis! Go go hero attack!]

    posted a message on Can someone help me with why this trigger is throwing an error?

    @GrimmySnarf: Go

    You are getting errors because the Pick Player isn't returning the value you think it does. Its fine if you use it once within your scope, but you used it TWICE!

    You need to avoid the second Action: Player Group - Pick each player in Team 1... that way you only use the Pick Player function once within your scope.

    Yeah, but squad TD didn't even come close to Mineralz tho. When mineralz came out, it rose to 48k hours! Too bad it didn't break 50k. And too bad we can't see how many games played anymore, I'm thinking both Squad TD and Mineralz have very low number of games being played. Even Desert Strike might have lower number of games being played than other maps.

    @Keyeszx: Go

    Not all the time. Sometimes when I open up SC2, the login name is empty and i have to manually type in the account name again. And pressign esc is a very easy to way to see if you are being fooled. But honestly, when is the last time you press esc while at the login screen?

    posted a message on Is it possible for passwords to be stolen through a map?

    @iE4TM4PS: Go

    Now that you mentioned it, it is very possible to do this. The map can pretend you got disconnected from b.net after you load up the map. And you have to retype in username+password. While you doing that, the other players could see what you are typing in. No doubt a lot of fake maps like this would arise if they ever fix b.net so any map can be played. Something to beware of..
