I am new to making maps, but there's a map idea from warcraft 3 that I want to remake in starcraft 2. the map is called Vampire
if you don't know the map, i will try to explain:
there is 2 sides, the human (5-10 players) and the vampire (only one or two).
the humans have to build a base, and try to destroy the vampire with towers.
the vampire have to "bite" all the humans to win, when the humans have been bitten they become vampires.
the last side standing wins
here is my ideas for the game
The vamprie side;
Vampire unit is an ultralisk
the vamprie can buy units to scout, attack, and other things.
they will have the same abilities as the warcraft 3 map such as farsight, stun, invisibility, and snipe.
the human side
Human unit is a marine
The walls start out as pylons and can be upgraded into bunkers, then command centers, and last planetary fortresses where it gains the ability to attack. (it will only have a visible use)
the humans also has the ability to make missile turrets(attack ground), flame turrets, and psi disruptors. and other tower
Humans make SCV from a command center(not the wall) they can mine Minerals but not gas
the marine is the only one there can get gas, the gas is used to make higher tier buildings.
there is only one gas refinery on the map, it is in the middle, were the vamp has it base.
the Humans will have a building there auto produce gas in the high tire buildings

I am a big fun of vampirism and played a lot in various versions vampirism in warcraft 3, such as fire, zero. I would be happy to create a map yourself, buy i don't have to time to two projects, becouse i working hard on my main project. But i can help you if you really want to create good vampirism map. I think i can help you in some way, if you need help, questions or something about Starcraft 2 Editor. May be i create something for your map, but i don't know, will i have time. In any case, i can test your map.
I think you should change terrain on grass. Relief hell is depressed and classic vampirism, this grass at humans and only black relief from vampires in the center of the map. And this water looks terrible too.
Perhaps add some extra height, because you can make your height level 1 more higher than it is now (shame you can't have as much height difference as in wc3 but ah well). Another thing could be, using a different actor (model) instead of minerals to harvest? Or do you intend to make the map look starcraft-ish instead of the old warcraft 'chop wood' style? I loved alot of vampirism maps, though the damage numbers etc often became massive, do you intend to make tower upgrades/vampire items etc scale up to very high dmg or just keep things a bit smaller? If you get what I mean at least.

This sounds (and looks) like cat and mouse from SC1. Can anybody who's played both say this is a valid comparison? I've never played WC3.
well i only played SC1 campain and haven't had internet that time, so i can't say ether.

hmm, could you make minerals block sight too?
So you can build more mazes into and have more mining capacity for humans.
I don't think you need alot of scripts. Triggers for when who wins, transforming human into vampire.
Almost all other things can be done in the data editor I think.
Also, I think the hybrid reaver makes would be a nice model for the "vampire". (enable campaign dependency)

vitkar: will that many minerals not make the map lag a lot, and the reaver might be more fitting as vamp
Mogranlocky: i was thinking of a starcraft look, as for the dmg was thinking of something in the middle, depending how much hp the towers get
