Hey hey people! After a week of absence, the Bi-Weekly Testing Thread is back!
As per an initiative from JayBorino and me, we've set up the Bi-Weekly Testing Thread, or BWTT, with the purpose of testing specific maps made by community members. What does this mean? Simple: editors in need of feedback suggest their own maps (either via PM to me or JayBorino, or by posting it in the intro thread), and we'll pick one that will be used for the BWTT.
For this edition, we've picked another campaign map by mapper EDHRIANO, who we have seen before in the BWTT. This time, he's looking for people to help test mission 8 of his The Hammer of Dawn campaign, which focuses on a Terran mercenary group taking jobs from a mysterious client. Mission 8, Attack on Titans, can be found here.
For the next two weeks, see if you can check out the map and give your feedback in this thread.
This thread will stay up until tuesday, September 27, at which point I'll upload thread #12. Up until that point, all suggestions for maps that require testing are welcome - please put them in the general thread found here.
- Option to end timer. I will have to hit the editor to see if that even possible.
- Autosave. I think someone already point out on other topic (sorry I forget which one) that it is impossible to add autosave to custom campaign. Since the command trigger to do that will give error message.
Some UI. I'm not sure if you can fix this but by default every unit's HP bars are hidden. I had to go into my options menu to reactivate them. A slight inconvenience for me.

Player-side gameplay settings cannot be accessed/edited by a map or mapper. This is all on you. Otherwise you could have maps doing all sorts of malicious activity (changing display settings, master mute, etc).

You can force ui options like this through GUI triggers, I use it in my map. Force "status bars visible: true for player" or so.ethin like that.
Ok, playing it on casual after trying on normal and losing Hydra hero to a battlecruiser.
Annabelle receives double the upgrade level per upgrade, so after a while she was at +6/6. If that is supposed to be like that it isn't mentioned in her CC.
Kyra Han recieves double armor upgrades.
As it was my first time playing this campaign, it would help if heroes had hero glow attached to them. Would help distinguishing them from all the other units when I'm under attack and need to quickly micro heroes around. <-wasn't an issue on 2nd playtrough, or in fact after 1st wave cause all other units died :<
Behavior that is damaging your units in the void fog is called: "Unknown(ShadowCloudDamageE..)"
Kaisers void form behavior says that it's vulnerable to celestial energies of Xel'Naga?
Would be nice if Kaisers void form showed its remaining duration, there is a checkbox in behavior to do that.
As for gameplay, there is a bunch of not doing anything at all in the beginning (other than picking 2 resorce pickups). And during "night" you can't do much either, because if you do (build or make units) - then you won't have enough cash to max out upgrades, and game warns you to have 3/3 by the end of that segment, so I'm left with heroes where base is just a background with which you can't do anything. At least that's the feeling that I got. Now looking back upgrades are probably negligible, should have made a bunch of cannons instead for ez life. But instead I just turned game speed to slowest when attack waves came and microed 2 parties at 2 sides at the same time.
After boss battles facing 3 battle cruisers with 3 heroes on "easy" difficulty caught me off by surprise. But well, nothing that a timely use of ctrl-q didn't solve..
- It is explained in the intro that the enemy will attack during the night. So naturally during the day they don't attack. It allow the player to get the fell of the map and to better understand their base composition.
