Battle of Noranda Glacier is a story-driven map with excellent gameplay mechanics based off micro, positioning and strategy. I added a scoring system to an otherwise “play-once” map that makes it competitive and challenging. There is also a bonus round to see how long you can survive when waves of enemies come at you relentlessly.
All in all, BNG is an intense, story-driven experience with complexity, competition and challenge to support gameplay. I hope you give it a try! I could use some feedback, even.
___
Background to “Battle of Noranda Glacier”
Battle of Noranda Glacier is my interpretation of the first battle fought between the Kel-Morians and the Confederacy during the Guild Wars. The Guild Wars takes place before the first Starcraft game, and is mostly acknowledged through lore in the comics and books.
Becoming inspired to re-create some of the epicness (with a little artistic license, too), I have created a map featuring the first battle which launches the two factions into a brutal economic and militaristic conflict.
The first battle features heroes such as:
Captain Arcturus Mengsk
Captain Edmund Duke
Sergeant Mire (Original Character)
___
Gameplay
While the mission is story-focussed and casual-friendly, it can also be competitive in nature. There is a scoring system in the game which rewards thoroughness and professional level-micro. Achieving a perfect score of 15,000 points will let you in on the secret cheat codes I have in the game, and the sky is the limit to your score in the Bonus Round!
From looting supply caches around the colony, to fending off ambushes, to reinforcing your own army.

That would be awesome! It's sad that nobody has played my map in weeks. The first few days after it was published I got all twelve reviews, and they were all very positive, but I just haven't gotten any more attention. I want to start working on the next mission in the custom campaign, but I'm afraid it won't be worth it.
Thanks so much! I really appreciate any attention I can get. Something about pouring yourself into a project and watching others experience it is very satisfying, and I hope it to inspires me to work on the next mission in the series.
You should try to bump the thread occasionally. The site is used a bunch, but the way the forums work it makes it bad for folks trying to break into the scene.
You should upload to Mapster and create your own page. People like to download maps from here. We are a global site, EU, Asia, Korea and a lot of folks have trouble with getting access to maps if you only load it up on one region, e.g. NA, so you got more potential for reviews and interest if you have your maps here as well.
As far as pouring your heart into your work...we all know that at Sc2Mapster!! If you like what you are doing, then by all means keep going. Take your time, there is no rush when you are working on your Magnum Opus!! Sc2Mapster has a good crew of campaign enthusiasts who will play and give you lots of support. Also, the campaign scene will continue to pick up with Lotv and I have some plans to make us a bigger presence on the Arcade in the coming months!!
Also, play everybody's maps on the CCI page!! LEave feedback. Most of the maps are not available on the Arcade!! There are some serious gems...check out Eivindl's Perfect Soldiers campaign. It is...amazing...and its like 30 hours of gameplay.
Honestly I think you should map more for you own enjoyment. I spend a lot more time in the editor than actually playing SC2 :D. The reassurance of people liking your stuff can be pretty cool, but it shouldn't be the main reason to make maps. Plus you'll always find yourself comparing your stuff to other peoples, and you may find that you never feel your map got enough exposure. Like I find it amazing that one of my maps has gotten over 500+ (it's a little over 2 yrs old now) ratings on a single server. But at the same time I look at some other similar maps that have thousands of reviews and wonder how the heck they got so many. But I'm sure compared to your 12 you'd look at mine and be like woah. So it's all about perspective, and in the end I think you should just map for your enjoyment. The only other reason to map would be if you could make a living off it, but that's not gonna be happening any time soon for any SC2 mapper.
Hey Leon, I'd like to showcase this on my YT channel eventually - most likely in a few weeks after I've uploaded other campaigns I've already committed to. Let me know if you'd rather I waited. I'm hopeful that will help you with getting more exposure, but I also agree with others in that your maps should a hobby of yours and you enjoy making them. Positive feedback is of course always nice, but make sure you primarily are doing it because you're having fun :)

Thank you, and GL HF
I might put this up on the Custom Campaign Initiative page. If that is cool??

I gave it a 2-minute spin (didn't have time for more). Looks pretty good. I'll check it out in more detail later.
