I am new to map making I have been watching and reading a lot of tutorials and using the forum a lot but I still run in problems that I cannot solve or figure out with those resources. I am looking for someone I can send my map to and ask a few questions to someone that knows a bit more than I do and can look at my map so they know what i'm talking about. I have only started working with SC2 since my join date but I have been picking it up pretty fast. I will add anyone that helps me to the map creation credits.
Tester List. Hopefully they'll all get attached to the first post and people will keep putting there info there so we have a good size testing community. ;)
Well, the point is that just some people are better with certain aspects than others. For example I couldn't teach someone the Data Editor because I myself only know the simple stuff.
Most of the questions we get here will either be answered by one of the hundreds of people watching the Development forum or they already have been answered before and can be found via search function.
This is where I am stuck for the moment. I can't even get the wave timers to work right.
The original idea of the map was to have 4 waves of mobs spawn, then a boss spawn, then a player must complete a event or the they will suffer a penalty or be rewarded.
The units at the top are purchased by moving a civilian over the beacon when you have enough minerals. As the waves get higher you can purchase more units at a time. You can upgrade your basic infantry when they hit level 5 by bringing them through the teleporter and on the beacon of the unit you would like to upgrade to.
Right now the map just does not work and I am thinking about abandoning this project or if it might be worth finishing. Anyway if you get a chance to look it over let me know what you think. What fixes you can suggest, advice you can give, or anything else you can think of.
I would greatly appreciate a mentor system. If you can find a way to implement one I'm sure a lot of people would be grateful and it would benefit the entire community.

I agree. Would be really useful, and you'll never run out of teachers/mentors either.
At some point an apprentice will be good enough to take the position as Mentor/teacher and then learn new people up.

You can send it to me if you like and I can take a look at it... I'm still getting used to the SC2 editor but I used the SC1 and war3 editors a ton.
You can send it to: [email protected]
If you need any feedback, help or tips with regards to your terrain, feel free to PM me.
Been there done that, i got quite a long and informative PM back with tips and hints to improvement...
