Has anyone got the album yet? Just bought it last night after hearing on of the new songs on it... I must say I like the cd... some of the songs are... very different... but I still like them. (A lot dont seem like linkin park at all)
Oh you totally can.
My friends' music influenced me a lot. A good friend of mine heard evil death metal music only (which totally wasn't my kind of music), but after a year of hearing it everytime I was at his place I noticed that I don't find it as bad as I did a year ago. In fact I started to like a few songs or bands.
Well, I haven't heard anything of that new album, but I did hear that it's pretty bad (in comparision to the old albums).
You say that this is learning? I would rather say that you changed your feelings about that, like everyone does. However :)
@ Obsatz, ya you would not think that this is linkin park.
Nah, there's definitely learning. There's a lot of songs you have to know more intemately before you'll be able to understand and like them. Streetlight Manifesto's my prime example there. I had to listen to their albums 10+ times before I understood what all instrumental parties were doing and what the lyrics were about.
also note I didnt say "learn to like it" I said learn to have an open mind, as in, not throwing something out because its not their normal music, got to give it a chance and take it for what it is... listened to the cd 3 times before I decided I like it anyway =D, [and now its on my iphone loops =D]
Heh, I personally think it's incredible. All the people that say "it's nothing like what they did before" just don't realize that they aren't trying to do that. They are striving to be completely different than anyone else and different than anything they've done before. I think they've achieved that wonderfully.
I've listened to all of the songs and lots of them are "intro" songs for the coming song. And most of the songs are a bit techno/"hardstyle"(my opinion) oriented. But some of the songs are incredibly well made. And also the mainstream song The Catalyst is really good!

What are your thoughts?
I'm quite disappointed to be honest. This ain't LP at all and nearl all songs are too techno or quiet at all. And I don't like it either :S
I also enjoyed that CD =D
But I still like this new cd, people just need to learn to have an open mind.
I used to have an open mind but my brains kept falling out.
-_-
I see what you did there sir.
@Molsterr: Go
you like =P
People need to learn? No. You either like it or not, you cannot learn to like a song.
So I guess it's not much like Meteora or Hybrid Theory, right?
Well I I'll check it out in any case..

I never buy music, if you know what I mean ;)
As in, I use spotify! Not pirating. -.-

That said, they're awesome. ;)
