Blizzard deleted a thread teaching how to boost maps. Now everyone is posting the thread again on the Blizzard forums. I couldn't believe when I saw that! O.o
Along with eveyrone else doing it, id remove it if you duplicated as well, blizzard does not joke with the ban hammer, remaking a thread that was deleted is the easiet way for a perma ban
tho on a side note im cracking up.... and its a strong message to blizz, id love them to come back to work and the page be nothing but that tutorial... But you will be banned, be warned before following =P
the tutorial itself is not bad, its information EVERYONE should know. there was no reason for blizzard to remove it. I mean yes, it did abuse the system... so yeah... but rewording it would make it A.OK
People keep posting and opening new threads. I kind agree with that. Blizzard can't ban everyone.
Do you think is fair that just some map makers know how to make their maps to the top? THIS PROBLEM ALREADY EXIST WITHOUT THAT TUTORIAL. So, deleting the tutorial would just help the map makers that already know how (less competition).
Without that tutorial, the new map makers won't know how to make their maps playable. That thread is the hope of the map makers. They are only making maps because they know there's a chance to make them popular. If Blizzard deletes all those threads, you will see the same maps on the top forever, and always from the same map creators.
blizzard CAN, and WILL ban every single person duplicating that thread if they so wish. this is not unlike blizzard in anyway shape or form.
I agree, this is important information, and I dont think blizzard should remove it, its their own falt the system is so bad. HOWEVER, the tutorial is telling people to expolit the system by playing their own games, instead of just giving out the information, thats where blizzard comes in.
Point being: If you agree or not, duplicating a post you KNOW blizzard has deleted, will get you banned. dont get me wrong, im cracking up over this, I think its funny,
the constant feedback they get. they already know its not working.., We all know its changing, break the ToS is not the way to go, and pushing other peoples posts off the page is not the way to go =P
I did something like this during beta, where I just started my map, and then quit once I got in. I got it onto the 2nd page that way, but now you can't do that anymore as it doesn't work. I bet the day they reset is the same day as the new featured maps. I would do this, but not anymore for 2 reasons. 1. Everyone is going to be doing this, its going to be chaotic and nearly impossible with everyone trying to get to page 1. 2. I would rather not stay up all night.
Same, the system is crap. Everyone just plays the popular maps. When you have a map that could be really popular, it never happens, because no one plays it, and no one plays it because it isn't popular. Its a terrible and cruel system. The old system was better. The only thing they should upgrade about the old system, is that all the maps under the same name go under that name, so we don't have 12 dotas, instead just the 1.
I agree. Sometimes the system has to be broken rapidly and quickly to fix it.
I find it amusing that Blizzard has a broken custom map system (aka the popularly system) and has only done 1 thing to fix it, and that thing didn't really help much. I lolled when I read the thread on b.net tho. Let the chaos begin.
yes, but also creating a post that was deleted, has been grounds for perma bans [happens all the time, you can see the QQ posts all over the place =P]
also thats one warning towards the final perma ban, as I said, I feel like it should be very noted that doing so IS breaking the rules. Shouls someone be afraid to post something that stands to show blizzard is wrong: NO! Should someone be afraid to post something that stanfs to show blizzard is wrong |In way that breaks the rules|: Yes,
huh? if your referring to the posts above, the information would be posted here. not anything here posted there, or am I reading that wrong?
Blizz dosnt want it on its fourms because its a "trick" to getting past the way something "should" -cough- work, however there is nothing "illegal" in it. thus theres nothing bad about posting it here
i just hope that their next patch actually fixes the popularity system. Cause if it doesn't things will just get worse until its fixed. In most cases when a system is abused by a lot of ppl its fixed asap, but idk if its the same case here. Blizz already knows that every1 one hates the current system, and i remember reading a post on their forums by a blue a while back that they are working on it and exploring (something along the lines of) better ways of having custom maps set up. So if everyone goes and follows that tut all it will do is make things worse for every1 else, and get a point across to blizz that they already know of and are working on.

Just go to the Blizzard forums and count how many threads teaching how to boost you see. http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/forum/13437/
I have nothing to do with it.
Edit: I believe blizzard deleted some of the threads because there were more.
@RodrigoAlves:
Saw that, guys gana get banned.

No offense Molsterr but that's kind of fear mongering. I bumped about 20 Nexus Wars threads and I'm still around.

No, its informing people so they know what they are getting themselves into.
If you read the CoC, you'll see the maximum punishment for duplicate threads is a temporary ban. Hardly anything to lose sleep over.

I wonder if we should post the information here. Hint. Hint.
@Cotcan:
To be honest I thought about it =P , I dont think theres anything wrong with someone posting that here at all, in fact its a good idea hehe
I'm pretty glad the mods here don't seem so draconian. <3 you guys.
As much as I enjoy seeing some public discontent on the popularity system, copy/pasting a SC2 Mapster thread VERBATUM is going to make us look bad.
