I was wondering if it's just me, but since downloading the last patch (2.0.10), whenever I go to test a map in the editor the load times have seemingly increased by at least 5-fold. The biggest wait is between actually hitting "Test" and the screen going black then going to map loading screen. Once the loading bar appears it loads more or less as fast as before. It's an extremely annoying waste of time when you need to go back n forth frequently to test tweaks. This has really slowed down my map development. Anyone else encountered this?
Instead of closing sc2 down when editting, leave it open after the first time you click test. This removes the "black screen" load time. I thought my map was just getting bigger, but I also experience it. Might just be my mind.
Thanks for the thread! I was gonna post about it too but then decided to Log on from the editor and stay in Bnet main menu an not exit, so that I can load fast...\
Ever since the patch, as if 'streaming data...' was not annoying enough, now there is 'Calculating data...' wth and why was that, now when I want to drag a game without opening the editor, I have to wait for this and then black screen and then the loading screen starts - takes around 1.5 min and my lap is with Intel core i7, 2.44 GHz...
So log in to your account from the editor, Hit Test, Wait annoyed, then DO NOT CLOSE bnet - when you quit your map after testing you go to Bnet main menu, don't close it, I have the habit to close and that's cause it always loaded fast the next times I dragged the map.
This is not a solution though, they need to fix it. And it would be great if we had like Single Player on war3, to always browse the Maps\ folder ingame...
They wont do it because Blizzard grew very cocky in the past years. And very rich. So they are control freaks. Control control control. "No single player. Let the nerds pay." I cant describe blizzards policy in any other simpler way. Now I dont have internet connection AT ALL in my farmhouse. Not even wireless. Why the fuck cant I play starcraft with my friend via lan? Why the fuck cant I? I paid the freaking money.
"you cant, because control control control" answers Blizzard.
Its a bug and it will be fixed very soon. In the meantime, make sure not to close SC2 between testing since the bug just happens if sc2.exe is not running.
Actually to correct myself - if I wanna drag a map into SC2Switch.exe (you know, since we don't have Single Player browsing of Maps\) and the Editor is not opened , it loads like before the patch but if you have the editor opened and then drag the map or run test - this long wait happens, it's from the editor and launching a map with it.

Yeah, it seems to be some sort of resources conflict between the client and the editor.
Excellent, thanks to all for the information. Staying logged-in works great.
