Little curious why when things make it big around here there's rarely a front page announcement.

Total Biscuit commenting the Smashcraft mod.

Now this SC1 mod making it huge and there's no front page action. What gives?

Anyway stoked to try this out, should be fun and grats to Jones313 for making some waves!

Didn't Mephs tell mapster to fuck off or something like that? I doubt Smashcraft is going to be getting any attention :P

Anything I say about that remake is going to sound like "my remakes are better", so I'll just shut up :X

Oh, and front page stuff requires a video.

Most internet users dont like text. Imagine that?

You know, this website isn't exactly poppin' these days, a lot could be done to bring more people into the fold. A "hello reddit" for either one of these "big" (relatively speaking of course) news stories would do a lot to build community.

Feels like the pointless fanboy clashings in here are having an adverse affect on the website and map making community overall if you wont run with a good story when it pops up, they're not exactly common these days.

its not that hard to get a youtube video..... thats how we usally find "amazing" looking things, either 1, we see the video in the project, or someone PMs us asking for a front page, and we tell them to make a super quick video it helps the map maker more than anything, if you have a video that looks awesome, your going to have more people click that link in the news to take a look at it.

(its important to note I think it would make for great news on the front page, but we need that video)

on a side note: onetwo makes some of the best videos ive seen for peoples maps, send him a msg. and see if he'll make you a sexy video that just makes people go wow...

Hey, guys, it's alright, my comment was basically meant as a joke... I'm not exactly trying to "get my name out there" since I can take less than half the credit for the campaign, but people seem to enjoy it, and of course I wouldn't mind it on the front page. That said, I have close to zero experience in making videos and I'm not about to make some rushed youtube video that looks like crap just for the sake of making a video. =P If someone offers to make that video, then I'm all for it.

Generally speaking, though, (again, not trying to lobby my maps for the front page) I think your video requirement is a bit silly, and "most internet users don't like text" is not much of a reason.

Okay, I looked through the link, and I'm wondering how he did that. I've tried to convert my SC1 campaign to SC2 and failed. How did he do it?

Not to be a leech, but is possible that you can release that mod? I would really love to revive a SC1 campaign I made a few months ago. I didn't finish it because I assumed that most people wouldn't play it. :S
