I was traveling to record a new Debates video in a rollercoaster, but when I arrived I realized that Debates is not on the list. I can't find the map in any page. I was surprised because Debates had gotten about 60% of all the suggestions of maps to be featured (which is more than 20 suggestions), so I thought people were playing the map.
Well, since I cannot find the map, I'm cancelling the video project, and I deleted the map from Battle.net. I apologize to all Debates fans. I deleted, so that I can send the map to the Blizzard contest.
Edit:
I deleted the map to have a chance to join the map contest, since the map cannot be published and no one was playing it anyway. However, I keep receiving messages of people asking me to re-upload. So, I re-uploaded it, but the map stills out of the list. I might delete again 1 week before the contest deadline to be able to submit it, if this won't annoy the Debates players.
I seriously don't think that could work. If your map has been published, chance are they will be disqualified for the contest (unless you submit a totally different version with new additions.. etc.) Blizzard is only accepting submission by email (so they want to disqualify released map to avoid stealing).
I don't think Debates was welcome on Battle.net. Sorry.
Should the map win the contest ?
Anyway, dont get frustrated about your map not getting played. It doesnt destroy your talent as a mapmaker. If you think this project is failed (which I think is not) you can still move on to something else. There will be popularity reset, map featured each week or even a complete overhaul of the map hostting system
It's unclear to us whether you're saying Debates was removed from battle.net from Blizzard's interference or was simply put down in popularity for whatever reason.
This is why popularity is bad. I have nothing against nexus wars, BUT it is a fairly passive game. You don't do a lot. Debates was one of very very few DECENT and UNIQUE maps. Popularity killed it. And what sucks is that if blizz just added a search box for joining games, this would not have happened. Im sorry, debates was a great map. We will forever remember you, debates....
edit- how did you get debates up to page 3 anyway? You could always try to do that again.

You are seriously the worst poster here. Literally everything I've ever heard you say has been a temper tantrum about your map not being popular or played. And now out of spite you've deleted the map entirely. Congratulations I guess, now please go away. You've never posted anything remotely constructive. This is a forum for mapmaking, not self-pity.

I deleted the map not for tantrum, but to have an oportunity to join the contest. And still, I had to warn the Debates players because they were asking me all the time "where is Debates?"
You have the right to think that my thread isn't good, but ask yourself, is your post constructive?
@RodrigoAlves: Go
Also your map can not be in the contest as it was at one point hosted on battle.ne, rules state as such =(

My Corpses map disappeared on the US list but that doesn't mean that evil Blizzard employees are conspiring against me :|
Consider that now the Debates name is no more usable to publish your map... Was that a good idea?
Yeah... It was on Battle.net... Blizzard knows it was on Battle.net from their logs... People posted about it on these forums... People posted about it on the Battle.net forums... We've put it in the news several times... Yeah.. =|.
Yeah... if Blizzcon contest judges actually have any clue about what's happening on Battle.Net (or read their own blog thread) your map won't be eligible I'm afraid.
Also, everyone not creating singleplayer maps, TDs or something with DotA in its name is struggling hard with popularity right now. This comes from a mapmaker seeing his map fall from 7400 games/day (10-minutes B.Net glitch showing real popularity for Featured maps) to page 9 within two days just because it required more and dedicated players than some regular dumb "Whatever" Wars.
Just keep updating your map like we are all doing, some better system will come soon :)
I'm from EU so that doesn't really bother me, but removing it is pointless imho.
I've never played your map so I'm going off of assumption, but did you literally just debate via in-game chat? Or did you get units that could attack, etc? If the former... then I could kind of see why it would fall off the popularity charts. People want to play an actual game.

Maybe you are right, but Blizz is doing so much mistakes these days that I can actually believe they have other people to choose the maps. Debates is popular os sc2mapster, but no one knows about it on Battle.net. If you can publish a map (even private), the best maps in the tournament will be that maps you would hate to play for more than 30 seconds. So, I bet Blizzard would rather choose a polished published not-very-much-popular map than a map with 9999 bugs.
If I just wanted my map to be popular, I would just boost Platform Defense and make it on the first page again. However, Debates brought me a feeling that no map with booms and bangs could give to me.
I'm gonna have to agree with RileyStarcraft.
Sorry, man. That's how you come off. I even helped you out at the start by waiting with you in a game to help you spread it. I message you a week later to ask to play and you give me a cold response even though you'd been friendly in the beginning when you were asking to help spread it. There wasn't a need to be friendly anymore since it was popular I take it.
I thought you were a bit whiny before but wasn't sure. But frankly you still sound a bit whiny now, just taking the map down cause it wasn't as popular as you'd liked. May sound harsh but you should be let known, so I'm in agreement with Riley, go away or do something about your attitude.
To be fair, I have to agree with Riley as well. Literally every post I've seen by you is you talking about your Debates map. Now I know there's regional difference, but I've never actually seen or heard anything about the map, and yet you're treating it like it's a celebrity among custom games. To be frank, that just annoys the hell out of me. All due respect, it's probably a good map, but your constant messaging about it makes me not even want to try it.
Since I don't mean to trashtalk you, here's what my post adds - the point that I A) don't really understand what exactly you're complaining about and B) couldn't care less because of what I've seen of your attitude. It's up to you to (not) react to my feelings about the whole thing.
Debates is very unique. It is one of the VERY FEW maps on sc2 that is not super duper generic. All they have its TDs, a few RPGs, and nexus wars. I don't see why him advertising a sc2 map on a site called "SC2 MAPster" would make you not want the game? It was fun I enjoyed it. But the goal of complaints is for blizz to fix popularity. IF there was just a search button for poularity, it would improve TONS because people would play maps they wanted, not whatever was in the top 3 list.

You really thought you could fool Blizzard? I have to agree with Riley somewhat. You seem to be whining.
I wonder if privately uploaded maps are disqualified from the blizz contest. That would be really dumb...

No, people wants to play something stupid.
