Hey, so first of all I need to know is this possible? That is, be able to play a song just for player 1 who is in a certain area, and then stop that song for just player 1 and start a different one when he goes to a different area? Second, how do you go about doing it, I want the music to be player specific mind you, or it kind of ruins the whole idea. I have about 17 unique areas mapped out in my map, think it'd be nice to add some style to it.
Im pretty new here too, so i dont know if my feedback is that helpful. The big question is: Have you done own Soundtracks, that are not included in the game, or do you want to use the stock Soundtracks in your Areas?
If you plan to make a own Soundtrack, here is a incomplete List of what you have to do due my knowledge in the Editor is not much, because im starting to map right now.
- Have Soundtracks as wav. mp3. files
- Import those in the Import-Editor
- Press the save Button
- Go to Data-Editor and create new sound and link it to your specified sound-file
- Now you can Trigger that Sound using a Region or a Point
You can play sounds for single players only, depending on any condition you can check. Long soundtracks have some problems afaik, you might need to split your soundtrack to multiple files, if this happens.

I don't think so. If you play the soundtracks instead of the default sc2 music, it should loop just fine. I see no reason why it shouldn't. It's not synced with anything.
Just create a sound in the data editor with the type "MUSIC" with the reference to your imported music file. Then create a soundtrack in the data editor which references the sound you created before. After that you can play it with:
