edit: just noticed that the sounds aren't working either. Are there any generic steps that one must take once they've duplicated a unit to get the sounds working?
It has something to do with the way actors work, I don't know why, but if you select to copy all the actor portions of the unit when you duplicate it, it will work, Im sure someone else knows more and will be able to tell you exactly what actor objects need to be duplicated and why.
I've set it exactly like the original supply depot.
For the "build model" field I set it to "supply depot build" to test and what happened was it created a weird animation. Usually you have about 4 parts for the animation as the building becomes more and more complete. When using "supply depot build" it was stuck on one of them so there was an abrupt start and then an abrupt finish which didn't look natural. I'll try DarkShapes idea and recreate it.
Also when i set "build model" to "supply depot" like it's done on the original supply depot it's blank.
I believe only the first one is essential to copy, but i have done very very little with copying / creating new units, but the model aspect has always worked fine.
hmm, im not sure what could be going wrong then, ive never had a model fail to work after copying it. ill have to defer to someone who has more experience in this aspect of the editor.
I just created a "super supply depot" which is a duplicate of the supply depot but larger, more expensive and gives a lot more supply.
When building the super supply depot it's invisible. Here is my current set up. Any idea why? http://img440.imageshack.us/img440/3566/18634258.png
Thanks.

I'm afraid I've already done that :(
But it works fine whenever it's finished building?
It seems like you don't have the required "Supply Depot Build" model linked to that new unit.
Go to the actor for that unit. That build model should be one of the models listed.

Very odd then. Ive only had a blank building when i forgot to copy all the actors in the duplication dialog.
I'de try recreating it? maybe you hit some kind of bug.
It really sounds like not all the actors copied correctly.

This editor is infuriating.

Seem to work ok for me, just remember, after you do the duplicate dialog, your actor entry on the new depot will look like:

If you check the screenshot in the first post that's how they look.

On creating yet another supply depot clone same problem occurs.
