Is there a way to connect two cliffs by a walkable platform that units can also pass under? If not, how do I simply create a bridge that units can path across? The included bridge doodads have no pathing, they're simply models in the air :P.
I did and it didnt work, it only draws a path over a terrain which means that units literally sink into the bridge and fall down onto the terrain below the bridge. I think the real bridges may be implemented in terrain objects tab or however is it called, it's totally empty now.
Very few RTS's have true bridges, due to limitations of pathing. Warcraft 3's bridges could only be walked over, not under. SC2 appears to have similar pathing, so I doubt two-level bridges will be possible.
so essentially even if you had a razed platform off the ground it is still level with the rest of the terrain it only 'acts' as if it is flying
Now in warcraft3 there was ways around that, such as running a script to turn a unit into a flying unit while within a certain region and then use other tricks to stop them from being able to run where ever as a flying unit, it got pretty tricky
HOWEVER i do remember reading in an interview or a panel or something about the editor that says it has support for MULTI levels of pathing (allowing a unit to walk over a bridge wile a unit walks under the bridge at the same time) whether its currently implemented or how to do it im not currently sure, but i would look at the invisible platform doodads, there might be one specifically for multi level pathing or there might be an option to turn it on. Hope this helps.
I couldn't find the Invisible Platforms that were in WC3 either, that usually did the trick for say a guy walking over power cables between two buildings. Now I actually raised the terrain and covered it up with a building, it looks as if the unit is walking on top of the building. Works pretty well, althought the opacity changes sometimes allowing you to look through the building.
After you complete that, simply add a footprint to the bridge of the shape thats the same as the model (I'll add a detailed explanation later, but there are already guides on footprints out there I think).
And yes, as far as anyone can tell 2-level terrain is impossible.

@Jozrael: Go
Have you tried using the pathing tool to draw over where you put the bridge?

Hm. Warcraft 3 had support for Bridges (Although I don't think you could walk under them), so starcraft 2 SHOULD.. hm
Thanks for all the responses! I had indeed gotten that far, thanks for the help. I'll wait for terrain objects to be implemented then.

Warcraft 3 only ran with one level of pathing,

It was possible without using flying units in Warcraft 3, I did it in an RPG I was making, you simply use Pathing Blockers and then kill/revive them.
I can't seem to figure out how to make it so units actually walk on the bridge though in Sc2 :(

Just read that before I saw your post :P
But unfortunately it doesn't seem to be working for me :( (The object doesn't show up in the editor)
