Hey, I am really excited about all the map stuff going on here. Might be able to work out some mockups with my dev team before the editor is released.
Anyway, I was trying to get your td game to run, and most of it worked fine except that I had no money so I couldn't build towers. I could also build infinite probes/nexus's, but I am not sure if that was intentional.
I also noticed that the mpq replacement seems to have no affect at all, so maybe that is the problem I am having?
Can anyone confirm this or is it just me? Btw I really dont care about the td game, I would really like to figure out how to give a player money in the current galaxy, as it isn't in any of the function lists anywhere.
Yeah, there's no way to give a player resources currently, i'm assuming that'll be added in the form of a trigger in the near future. As far as our TD stuff goes, vjeux will be back soon, i'll have him head over here.
You have to use the custom patch.SC2Archive file. Due to a bug in the way SC2 loads XML files in the map, it is not possible to change what a unit is able to produce directly. The only way is to edit the patch file.
Make sure you have replaced the real patch.SC2Archive by the one in the map folder.
I dunno if I should post this as an aside or as a new topic, but when I replace the patch.SC2Archive with the provided one, all the ground units in the Mapster TD that enter the "build radius" of the pylon disappear. Same thing with the pylon itself. I can build towers just fine outside the build areas, just not in the radius.
Any ideas, suggestions, insults (kidding... maybe)? Is the patch.blah the only thing I have to import into the Version folder? Does folder placement matter for the map?
Update: And this might help. Version 1.0 works fine, Version 1.1 is the one acting up
Update2: Messed with the video settings, increasing one of the video settings (or maybe all) to high removes this problem. I'll let you know which specific setting it is as soon as I find it.
Update3: Found the issue. Somehow, setting shaders to 'medium' causes issues, at least on my computer. Both 'low' and 'high' work fine. Other settings do not cause problems as long as shaders isn't set to medium. I'm thinking this is more a Starcraft II problem and not a problem with the map, specifically.

Where did those screenshots come from of the towers?
I was under the impression something was uniquely wrong with the build I downloaded. If this is the case, so be it I suppose.

I did that, and units can produce the correct units, but all of the towers cost money and I get no money.
Without doing that though, I still get the same results with towers being in the probe's build ability but costing money which i dont have.
This is really strange. Maybe you are having some modified script in your sc2 folder like custom AI or something.
I didn't have this problem, but i admit once you start playing you have no idea what you're supposed to do :P.
Mmmm, perhaps we need some instructions. We should be able to add a "help" command or something.
an introduction, perhaps some lighting maybe what you need to protect. Just give users a general "Sup"

Thanks for the report, I will look into this.
