So yeah, Nevjmac asked me to post it. And since I like absurd stuff, especially when it turns out to be funny, we're going with...
Weekly Data Exercise #17
When life gives you lemons...
No, you don't make lemonade, you open up the editor and create lemon nukes, or chain lemon lightning, or something else that makes absolutely no sense.
What to do this week? Make a unit that somehow involves the lemon model (It's called "ShapeLemon (unnamed)"), it can fire lemon missiles or call down a rain of lemons through an ability. Preferably, make at least 1 ability and 1 weapon for the unit that includes lemons. If it's too complicated to do both or you dont have ideas or something, just a weapon or ability will be fine. Make more if you can - the absurder and funnier the better :)
Also, I believe the lemon has no animations, so if you know how to, you can try attaching them to hidden banelings or dark warp prisms to make them spin, or improvise animations through another way. You can even make zealots with a lemon as a head for all I care.
Challenges:
The Lemon King - A unit consisting only of lemons (use another units model, attach lemons, hide the model) that has a lemon based attack and 3-4 abilities that somehow relate to lemons.
Animated Lemons - Attach lemons to other hidden models to make them look animated
The Almaity will not be held responsible for any cases of madness, insanity, mental illnesses, broken bones, vampirism, pregnancies, stray cats, kittens-killed-by-god, or broken fingernails caused by this WDE, and most definitely doesn't claim to be sane himself. He also doesn't claim to be insane, altough he is talking in third person about himself right now. Participate in this WDE at your own risk.
EDIT: This is gonna be either completely terrible and stupid, or absolutely hilarious. I hope its the second.
I was planning to make one of my bosses a pineapple for my map, and have different aspects for different fruits with different effect. However, I must now go create some delicious lemon meringue DIE.
Behold the first clunky movements of a new technology. With this you could attach anything together and get it to move how you want. Although creating decent skeletons will take a longer time that the duration of this exercise. Irony was this was not found in complex unknown actor events but in the beam ability of the colossus (and yes I could have kicked myself), still thanks to Keuken531 who inspired me with his box monsters.
It is a new way of animating the inanimate. Basicly it alows you to create a mobile skeleton onto which you could attach anything (in this case some deadman's port towers) and can be animated to perform specific movements using Create Persistent effects and validators. So basicly with this method creating a 4 legged lemon walker with rows of lemons for legs would not be hard.
This has inspired me to create a cheat for my turn based game in which any unit that shoots missiles now shoots a fruit. I'll havE a video later tonight or tomorrow. Meanwhile I'll make my own custom lemon ability and upload it.
Here are some of my quick ideas, but I won't even bother doing them.
Retexture the Acid Death texture to make it look yellow and not green, make it look like an actual lemon had a citrus explosion!
I like the lemon tree idea, especially since I had an idea like that one. Mine was that an actual lemon grows on the tree (via attachment) and after growing to X size, it falls to the ground and begins to roll in a random direction. It rolls until it hits enemies/buildings/cliffs, at which point it explodes.
the explosion leaves a puddle on the ground. Anyone can walk on it without harm, EXCEPT Bio Units IF they are LESS THAN 100% health... the lemon gets into the wounds, and inflicts more pain. Could slow down damaged bio units instead of damaging them some more. Or both.
EDIT: Forgot one thing
The tree is attached to an invisible "fatty" model. It plays the unburrow animation (spins while unburrowing) an attempt at making it look like it's... growing... i'm sure you've seen time-lapsed video of a plant emerging from the ground, think of that effect.

@TheAlmaity: Go
Well, it seems I have to interrupt my current project xD (I could use lemons in it as well, but it'll take some time until it's finished
^^"
)I smell Keuken531 winning this since the Scrap Cube also has no animations but that did not stop him winning the creature contest with it.

Except this is not a contest or competition, so noone can really win this ;)

Haha, did not expect this, thanks for posting almaity, I have been insanely busy. Looks like fun though can't wait to see some results!

@DrSuperEvil: Go
what does that have to do with lemons? or was that an attatchment entry for last weeks?
Damn, I have some nice ideas in mind for this, but actually I am a little stripped off time. Exams upcoming.
@DrSuperEvil: Go
The little bit we can see looks promising. As soon as you figured out the stuff you want, I would like to see a testmap ;)
Well...I tried it xD
I named them "Rolling Lemons", but it's more like "Jumping Lemons"
Feel free to improve them
Sorry, no video provided
Meh, wasn't that interested in this weeks data exercise, so not that much effort put into this...
Few abilities and a weapon, nothing special.

The challenge should have been making Cave Johnson.
Go play Antioch Chronicles Remastered!
Also, coming soon, Antioch Episode 3: Thoughts in Chaos!
Dont like mapster's ugly white? Try Mapster's Classic Skin!
Here are some of my quick ideas, but I won't even bother doing them.

... :O dooo it!
Here's Cave Johnson! (Since he mentioned it.) Look in the Barracks!
@Drakken255: Go
I like it :) It would be great with some fire effects!
