A few days ago I published a map set on "Private" and "Unlocked", and today I published it again set on "Public" and "Locked" and someone in the game said that he downloaded my map and used it. I need to know if he really was able to download it in "Private" mode, and if yes, does he can use my all customized data (not the map), like changed units, stractures, abilities etc and publish it like it was its own game?
Are you sure in this for 100%? It is very important for me and I'm very trust on your answer.
If your map is private, only you can see it. Now, if you started the map lobby and then invited him to a game, I believe he would have a copy saved locally. But if you never invited him to play, and it really was private, there's no way he should be able to access the map. Now, it used to be possible to break the security on a locked & public map, but I'm not sure if that's still possible.
Did you create any custom dependencies/mods? If you made a dependency, and then uploaded THAT publicly, he would be able to get it even if the map itself was private.

No. The only dependencies I used is - swarm and liberty mod and campaign (4 dependencies)
Nothing has changed as in if someone wants to steal your work or modify bank files all he needs is a copy of your map which he gets by entering maps lobby on b-net. Map being locked will only protect it from curious ppl who use editor to download them.
But the general consensus is that map-making is hard, and getting your map played is even harder, so nobody bothers with stealing stuff, at least from what I know.
there are tools that let you download any map using the blizzzard map cache and the fact that the map has to be on your computer atleast a little bit for you to play, but it is really complicated to set up and against the terms of use

Someone can only have downloaded your unlocked private map, if you invited him into a lobby of the map.

Yes, that's the only way, because he can't find your private map anywhere to download it.

Wow, thank you so much guys! I now have relief.

Nothing has changed.
Do you mean it's not possible now, right?
