In the past few days we've been working on some default loading screens that users can use to insert into their maps rather than using the ones that came with the game. This gallery of loading screens will increase over time as we try to provide you with a plethora of gorgeous looking loading screens, one for almost any theme or direction.
These loading screens are a native size of 1440x900 for optimal picture clarity across all monitors. Simply right click and chose "Save Image" in your browser. If requested, we can provide higher resolution screens.
The .dds files required for the loading screens are attached to this thread.
I present to you the first 3 loading screens brought to you by Garden Of Aiur and SC2Mapster. :)
So did you do this from scratch or did you use some images already found, or a bit of both? I see the zerg one had some mirrored units so that's when I made an assumption.
I think you did an amazing job with what you have, regardless. I'd like to see the protoss, a little more like protoss. A nice immortal in there would be awesome.
Well, SC1 doesn't have loading screens, but would you be willing to make up a "loading screen" that I could use as my default screenshot for my SC1 campaign: The Rising of the New Agent?
Garden, i have a request. The image of mass nydus worms really strikes the core image of zerg for me. Mass units, swarming swarming, and what better than the nydus worm to add the element of surprise and breaching to enhance it?
i'll try to describe a lil scene, but feel free to modify it as you like:
- it would be awesome if u could do a lil thing with a big nydus worm reeling it's head high out of the ground in the foreground (but with its head/mouth still visible - it's not looking straight up into the sky)
- the position of the viewer/camera is about the same as the infestor picture - near ground level slightly angled above horizontal.
- there are many more nydus worms in the background, some already spewing units, some just unburrowing like the foreground worm. You will see a mass wave-hoard of zerg coming from the nydus worms in the background.
- the terrain is hilly (not flat), with the background at lower altitude. This will allow more depth, and fit more zerg units so it feels like an innumerable hoard.
- so the hoard will feel like it really is a wave (of zerg, instead of water) b/c that hoard will be advancing in a sort of line with zerglings and banelings at the forefront. the foreground is just on the highest point of the hill.
i hope i was clear enough to at least convey the image.
I dont know if its possible or easy, but having a custom doodad like an in game road sign or an advertizing blimp with a custom logo or title (ex:mapster) would be something else that could be neet.

Images
Im my point of view all are incredible but, i like more the third one, zerg are numerous and the marine and zlot are screw anyway, bit more realistic

Really sweet! Nice work.
Woa man. Good job with the screens, especially the blending in the Terran picture. Also, what program did you use for this?
ya man nice job :)
thanks guys!
I used Photoshop CS4, and gathered a lot of image and textures to piece these together.
Any requests?

Amazing work!
Here's some suggestions.
You could make a Terran version of the first screen, showing off some Terran art like how you did with the Zerg. Or with Protoss.
<- I'm a big Terran fan :P (although I play Zerg in melee/ladder in both SC1/SC2)
Lol the 3rd screen seems done exactly for my map! I will use it ;)
