Wrath of Arius
GENERAL
Hi, Wrath Of Arius is my first campaign I started here on Sc2mapster. I took some time off because I worked on my second campaign Starcraft: Pandora. Now I plan to continue this campaign. So what is Wrath Of Arius. It is a actually a tribute to Warcraft 3, therefore the dialogues, mission objective and story are almost identical, I modify some to fit my own story and make it work better in the Starrcraft universe. So all cred to Blizzard.
So why do this? I have learned so much when trying to replicate the warcraft 3 missions. I have become much more adept in the trigger editor and also some terraining etc. I said at the start I was going to make three maybe four parts of this campaign. I don´t know how much of this I really can accomplish, it is tedious work to replicate terrain, missions, cinematic but it is also fun. I have completed the Terran part and have some maps in the next episode. After each episode I plan to take a break and see if it is still fun, if it is I continue and of course people have to want to play them, that is after all one of the best thing about this, that someone actually plays the maps.

Hey this looks cool! A nod to WC3 I assume from the description? I showcase custom campaigns on YouTube and was curious if you would be comfortable with me eventually uploading your maps? If there are known bugs and you'd rather I waited for a new version let me know as well!
Terran 8 map final cutscene always end with defeat, even if I do not use the mercenaries to kill the final ship,
Just played map 4. Found two bugs.
1. The tauren marine's friend can not be found as he seems to be placed in terrain that is inaccessible.
2. a string of 5 errors at the end of the mission (sorry I don't know what they mean). Then a black screen (which happens in other campaigns I've played so not so important). Other than that the campaign seems to go well.
If I may suggest: An enemy base at the 4 o'clock position what pressures the right hand side of the base would work well.

If you look just above where it says GENERAL in the description, there is a number of options, including Overview, Files, Images etc. What you do is head into "Files" and all of them should be shown, whereas the main page only shows Recent uploads,
where are maps 1,2,3 & 5 ?!

Yeah, I'll definitely try to play the remaining maps soon and post my feedback on them as I go.
To make Jon affected by upgrades, you need to head into the Upgrades tab in the Data Editor. Search for the "Terran Infantry Armor" and add the following 3 things:
It may be incredibly confusing the first time you enter the upgrades tab, and believe me, it was hard for me too. This is one of the more simpler changes to make though, but it's kind of annoying as you'll have to do that for every map if Jon isn't affected by default.

First, thank you for taking your time! Much appreciated! =) And after I did see your terrain in Annihalition, I´m glad that you liked mine.
I have read what you have found in my map and started correcting it. You are right about the data editor, I´m not so adept in its art =)
I have not been able to figure out why, Jon is not taking advantage of the upgrade... but still looking. The global cinematic mode, helped a lot!
I hope you will continue playing, the average difficulty isn´t that hard I believe, but I hope to correct this in the future, when my knowledge of this is greater. =)
I've played the first two missions. Just to get an idea of what this is all about.
Mission 1:
Loading Screen - Don’t know if it was intentional but the loading screen didn’t cover up the entire screen, leaving me with black edges. Not a huge deal, just wanted to mention it.
The Cinematics - Again, don’t know if it’s intentional but the dark areas during cinematics look kind of strange in some of the shots. If you’re not aware, you can reveal the entire map during cinematics using the “Global Cinematic Mode” setting.
Also, I noticed that you can’t skip cinematics. Perhaps that could be something to think about. Now, this map wasn’t particularly challenging but if people lose they might want to skip cinematics instead of having to go through them all the time.
Grammar errors - There are quite a few of these. It’s not hard to understand, though, so keep that in mind. The main ones are lack of capitalization, commas and words being spelled wrong. This was the case for both missions.
I have a few examples underneath.
First Cinematic: Zek Strife says “I need to move against the pirate base immediately. can you hadle the crossroads defense on your own? Misspelled “handle” and the c in “can” should be capitalized.
Jon Field Tip: “witch” should be spelled “which”.
The Black Hand tip: “spicies” should be species. Also, “and only work for them when there is an absolutly need to.” It’s worked strangely. I would probably change it to “when there’s an absolute need to.”
Other than that, the mission was actually quite fun. It’s always exciting to see a new campaign emerge and even though this mission wasn’t the most amazing, it’s the first so I can expect it be simple and have exposition.
One thing you did do right is force micro. I could tell that you would lose a lot of your marines if you didn’t micro weak one’s back and I felt the need to use Jon Field’s abilities. Very good.
The terrain is well done. Very detailed, very engaging. I also liked that there were some minor pathways you could go to to explore. On one occasion I was also rewarded for this, by getting a free heal. One thing I found weird though, is that it only healed the unit that entered it. I would have expected all my units to be affected.
Bugs:
Mission 2:
The story got a little more interesting in this one, and I like that. Interesting to see the Tal’darim make an appearance here.
Terrain for this mission was nice as well. Although, I must admit that some of the grass areas outside your base were a bit bland because it had the same texture planted over a wide area. Also, the Water Generator doodad on the northern Pirate base has no pathing, allowing units to go right through it. Some areas were also a bit empty compared to the first mission. Bugs:
In general, I noticed that a lot of these bugs and things I found are Data editor-related. I’m guessing the Data editor isn’t your forte? So, if some of these things I’m mentioning is out of your power to do and confusing, don’t worry about it too much. I just find it necessary to point out things that I notice, and me being a campaign-mapmaker as well, I find myself focusing a lot on things like these.
Overall, there are definitely things to work on. But I do think the campaign has potential.
Interesting. Cool to see yet another campaign in-making. I will take a look at these maps and provide some feedback ASAP.
i will download when also the first map will be available, if i play a campaign i want to begin from the start
Mission 4, 6 and 9
