fun campaign! played it together with a few other protoss campaigns so i can't remember what exactly i liked, but i know for certain it was good!
So I don't know what is my problem as to why the custom campaign won't load in. I have downloaded the files for Vortex of the Void to play. I downloaded the main campaign and the final mission with the updated, I think, mission launcher. I place them in my maps folder. Within the maps folder I have a folder named Void. I placed all the missions within and placed the updated launcher within overriding the old launcher. Is there something I missed? I wish to play this campaign.
In reply to thesaiyan12:
I get it's been a year since this message, but since I've seen at least 1 other person with the same issue for campaigns the require the word "campaign" at the end for the folder name, will answer in case it helps any future people.
The folder within the Starcraft II's "Maps" folder has to be named as "Void Campaign" (not just Void).
Played all 6 missions. And well, must admit that it's a good job.
Overall rating:
1. Terrain 8/10 - it's on a good lvl. You have a similar way to planning and projecting the map as I do. 2. Gameplay 7/10 - all missions feel little the same and have the same goals. In the "Shadow of the Brood" campaign it was frustrating as hell, here it's quite better (especially mission 2 and 5 have other idea). I was very impressed about voice acting, which is accompaning the whole gameplay, not only cutscenes. 3. Fabula / story 2/10 - this is absolutely the weakest point of any campaign . A lot of hard, programistic work you're puting in a poor history. The subject of ressurecting the death god is totally exploited. There wasn't propably any twist and the characters are
What to improve:
1. 2. Allies in the mission 3 and 6 are totally useless. In the mission 6 they're doing simply nothing. 3. Voice-acting in the mission 6? 4. When in the mission 6 came to the boss fight it's quite idiotic. My base has been destroyed but I've stopped Mal'zar at the cannons near portal. But is doesn't seem like a true boss fight. Better let's give a chance to player to destroy Mal'zar bases and fight with him in one of them (and propably with his illusions?) - like in the Insurgency missions (with Aldaris in SC : Brood War) 5. Cut-scenes should be skipable. And it's right that sometimes we could hear that the map propably started already. 6. The "victory" panel should come straight after the end-cutscenes. Not after back to the game for a while. 7. Mission 3 has - in my opinion - a little too big map.
What impressed me 1. Mission 5. A bunch of good map-projecting. There's a problem with eliminating all turrets. Because if you want to localize all turrets - you have to got an air-fleet. And the "bridge thing" is designed for a ground-army. So the player which develop air-fleet (as I did) is not expirencing the beauty of breaking throught the bridges. 2. Voice-acting in the whole campaign. Very climatic. 3. The concept of Kelysa in the last 6th mission. Great idea to mix the plots for your campaigns! 4. The altar and the energy field in the mission 2. Very climatic mission.
Once again - good job. One of the best custom campaigns. ;)
Hi Narudek I really enjoyed this mod, although I ran into a couple of bugs and was disappointed there was no voiceover in mission 6.
Bugs: Tedis' command bar didn't work, so I was unable to use any of her abilities throughout the campaign. The first time I played mission 4 the objectives glitched. I had to kill six archons instead of only three which made it impossible to complete the mission and had to collect nine vespene fissures to complete the bonus objectives.
Otherwise I thought this was a great campaign overall. Well designed, well thought out and a solid story.
By the way, where is the Protoss Ravager unit from? I haven't been able to find on this site, and would love to use it.
Just played through the 6 Missions of the main campaign.
Solid work i guess. Good ideas when it comes to mission design. Played it on hard and I think it's a bit too easy at this stage. I'll try it on brutal later. I like how you tried to bring in some different units in comparsion to the usual protoss tech tree but a bit more diversity would have been great. The dragoon is useless as you have stalkers for damage and zealots with their active ae for tanking. The second unit you bring up (The ground attacking one.I don't even know how it's called because I never used it) is also a lot weaker than the stalker thus making it useless. The combination of improved zealots, improved stalkers and heroes is enough fighting power in every stage of the campaign. I havent built a single colossus or immortal as you just don't need them. I think stronger enemy pressure could change it.
So in the end: Nice mission design, good story idea but way too easy on hard mode.
PS: In mission 3 you brought in an earthquake animation and earthquake sound which make it extremely difficult to follow your well voiced dialogues at that point.
Okay maybe make intros skippable because they show up every time you restart the game. Also it seems like sometimes if you wait long enough on the briefing screen the game just starts by itself.
Particular in mission 3 what does Zeratul do because sometimes he just parks a bunch of units by one of my expansions and doesn't attack full strength.
Mission 5 the have to destroy every turret is really irritating please change this
I love campaign that have beautiful visuals and voices!! Downloading and playing ^
Mission 1 Cannot have custom hotkey for Zealot and Stalker - - Very challenging mission at the beginning, it is just small harasses All other hotkeys work I got curious and checked the hotkeys for the prologue missions they work well I opened the editor and read the script, it seems that the hotkeys problems are due to the campaign warping in the modified Stalker and Zealots I tried changing the hotkeys but ended up bugging the pylon - - So I'll just play with the default keys
Mission 2 Cannot have custom hotkey for Zealot and Stalker as well. Beautiful and good gameplays
Mission 3 Dragoon isn't so useful same range as Stalker, just a bit tankier but no AS
Mission 4 Too little gas !! Gas fissure is hell hard to find as well. Nice to see miniboss
Mission 5 favorite mission, love the game play surrounding Zeratul Stealth and Blink. the last 3 wraiths didn't get revealed, made me tooktheredpill to find out that i need to destroy them and 1 turret. They should be revealed imo
Mission 6 bug
Counter said 7 more whisperer
Artanis said 2 more waited for 10 min no fk came - -
why do Tal'Darim still have Blue Sentries instead of their Red ones ?
Just finished the whole campaign. "Echoes of the Ice" I found this mission easy (on hard). The whisperers didnt had many hp and armor so it wasnt hard to take them down. Also your ally base was never in danger to lose.
"Rules of Darkness" has a bug where in the Northwest and NorthEast expansion i coundt build my base because the creep wouldnt retract (even thought i killed the tumors). Also this mission on hard is a bit easy maybe making less minerals and gas so you force the player to expand earlier. And the waves weren't such a big deal.
Liked the prologue and the units where so so cool i just wish there was more :D. Cant wait for your future campaigns!
I thought there will be a patch for this campaign so i waited but now i started playing the first 2 missions. First of all i think you are an alien species since one person cant alone make such a visually pleasing map like you. Second the custom units are so cool i wasn't geeked about something since the blizz campaigns. But there are some issues like 1. Tedis bar is bugged. Sometimes she has full hp and sometime it shows half even thought its full. Also the energy bar shows full even thought its empty 2. Like in your zerg campaign the enemy attacks are kinda predictable. In every mission you would have a very tough start but once u reach max (or even sooner) u steamroll through the mission with ease. Unlike in other campaigns where you could lose your whole army when u underestimate the enemy's defense. So making the enemy waves a little bit unpredictable and balancing the endgame so it isnt easy. 3. And the story feels that it misses a glue to tie it all together. Maybe fuse together this and your zerg campaign for and epic story? Just some suggestions... I hope you dont realize your talent and that blizzard snatches you away from us :D
@serzh19800: Go
You need patch 3.0. It has voidprologue.mod
Hi! Prologue mission requires mod file. Where can I get it? Brood's wrath is very interesting, so I want to play this campaign from the very begining. Need your help.
Great campaign so far, I am excited for what happenes next.
However I have encountered a problem with mission 5 The Sky if Falling. I destroyed the dominion bases out of order, started with 2, then 3, then the first, and its not ending the mission.
Edit: Spelling.
Brood's Wrath was awesome! This campaign is awesome too! Terrain, voice acting, difficulty and other things are just great! And you are working so fast :D. One thing that I didn´t like was that you must destroy everything in 5th mission. Maybe everything except missile turrets? Keep up the good work!
Just played the first mission. Like everyone I liked the terrain, the voices, the briefing and especially the new models and abilities. Really gave it a nice Legacy of the Void vibe. I also liked the sneak attacks by the enemy when they teleport into your base.
What I didn't like as much was the large map. There is too much empty space with nothing playable, especially when you go out to attack but then have to get back to your base. The map could easily be just 1/3 as big and still have enough space for everything. An alternative idea would be to spread the Xel'Naga crystals out to multiple smaller bases. This way the player get an earlier sense of achievement when destroying one of the bases.
I have to decrease the campaign from 7 to 6 missions.
Because of story and voice acting.
Looks nice and very promising.
Perhaps I can play it after 10th November ^_^.
@MakOSc: Go
oh, no its just credits :D
Because i used some of custom models which arent created by me.
@Narudek
It's because of people you put in credits, I assumed that they help you polish it out, so I mentioned "the team".
@MakOSc: Go
Thanks for a little "review" but why everyone is talking about the team? :DD
I'm working alone on my all campaigns.
