The Talon Faction
Retired. Assets remain available but no longer will be supported..
Seems like retirement did not really work out?...

The Talon Faction Mod located on EU and NA servers.
Starcraft: Time Splitters campaign featuring the Talon Factions.
What's the rules on using the Talon designs for a modded campaign?
Is there anything special I have to do, or do I just have to give you credit for the Assets?
Furthermore, if I AM allowed to use the Assets, do I need to have them be depict as "Talon" units, or could I potentially use them as the "appearance" basis for "Nondescript Alternate Protoss Faction"?
Asking because I want to make a modded version of Wings of Liberty, and for the modded faction I plan to replace the default "Raynor's Raiders Terrans" with, I wanted to replace the Mercenaries calldowns with an "Allied Protoss Faction". I was kinda hoping to use Talon as the Aesthetic Basis for the "Allied Protoss Faction", but I'm asking for your permission first, given...well...it's only polite, AFAIK.
EDIT: Only problem I can foresee with making this campaign is my...frequent inability to finish projects...This means that...nothing may come of this, OR it could be a miracle and I actually manage to make something of this campaign. Still, would like to know if I'm allowed to use Talon's designs for this...
EDIT 2: Sorry if this is covered in your "Credentials" part, I just want to make sure I'm not misunderstanding anything...misunderstanding is a problem I tend to have...a lot...

Hey there mate.
There are no rules. I of course would appreciate the credits given for the models and stuff XD. Outside of that, You can use everything you can find amongst these assets and you can name them anything you want or assign them any role you want.
The lore bit was just some head canon from my side which I used years back, but you are in no way beholden to use that. So you're free and welcome to use them as the alternate protoss faction in your project (or anywhere else for that matter.)
On "edit1" Now that is something I can sadly enough relate to. But such is life, things happen, time passes....
Hope this helps! And good luck with your project.
the Cyber Hunter portrait have a problem.
for some reason the mask is textureless even if I imported the textures.
In reply to zarxiel93:
Lets go over some basics to identify the problem.
- Are the textures in the filepath: Assets/Textures?
- Did you save, close and reopen the editor after importing the textures and model file?
- Is the Cyber Hunter model the only Talon assets in your map? Reason I ask is because I dont recall if I used a 'you also need textures from other models to work properly'-thing.
Hopefully any of the above solves the problem. If not, I'll look into the issue deeper.
In reply to WingedArchon:
-Yes
- Yes
- No, I used others too, but that one is the only one with the problem, or at least from the ones I tested until now. I noticed the glass too is white, while in the static is purple, but that could be just because of the light used for the static, but I report this anyway to be sure. But for the Cyber Hunter, I'm 100% sure there is a problem.
In reply to zarxiel93:
Hi there mate, sorry it took a while longer, but I've been able to inspect the file that is uploaded to mapster here. Using the downloaded package from mapster, there are some other texture files which also should be present within your map:
-taldarim_zealot_portraitt_spec.dds
-THunter_Portrait_Background.dds (should be included in normal hunter package) <- This one I apparently forgot to include and also is not used in the below image check.
See below image for the result. The portrait for me looks quite functional. The texture above marked in red doesn't seen to affect the general look. So perhaps its the taldarim texture that might be missing? I can't think of anything else that would be wrong otherwise based on the info provided.
(image is edited to show the relevant files that were imported and the preview image from the import screen.)
In reply to WingedArchon:
ok, I redownloaded it, and put in a blank map with Legacy dependencies and now have the textures (no idea why before didn't worked, apparently I messed up something)... but...
This is what happen... I have no idea why the mask and the tubes textures are so weird...
In reply to zarxiel93:
Yeah that is odd. Let me look into it some more.
Hi hello there, when I import the crusader (the cool looking immortal) The front of the model suppose to be purple right? But appears white or team colored along with the things it has on its legs
In reply to azkarion15:
Hi there mate, I assume you are talking about the cockpit window in this case? I have to really think hard again about it since it was quite some time that I created the model. But I'm pretty sure it was always a teamcolor window (with some glow effect)
In the image you see it while having purple for teamcolor.
In reply to WingedArchon:
Aaaahh now it makes sense I thought I forgot to download a texture or something lol sorry for the problems
In reply to azkarion15:
Not to worry mate. Glad to have been of help.
Seems Nok'ryss is missing some textures.
EDIT: Just seems I had to go perusing. I'm not sure what he was missing, but adding in the Harbinger and Adept textures fixed it.
In reply to CerberusSC2:
Hi there mate, let me start off by saying happy newyear!
Well, good thing it is fixed for you, still bad on my part I hadn't included them? (must check)
In reply to WingedArchon:
The adept had a texture for his energy tendrils. "Energytrail_Cannon_Purple"
Upon review however, the Harbinger wasn't what also benefited him. (I uploaded several units at once, and it just fixed him) That was an in correct assumption on my part. "Plasmafield_Purple" wherever that one came from, was also a texture he was missing.
I went into the cutscene editor to look, to find you textures that I found were originally missing, so you wouldn't have to spend a lot of time searching yourself.
Think you i'll make good use of them
I would like to give the talon a huge role in my campaign is that okay (And was wondering if you would be okay with me using you campaign as background for the Talon)
In reply to lorddawnreaver:
Hello there,
Not a problem at all :)
Can I use this faction (lore and everything) in my campaign that I'm working on? I'm wondering because I need a protoss faction and this one seems really interesting and fits perfectly into the storyline I'm building.
In reply to dweebiee:
Yes, you can. I also now feel compelled to say that you intrigue me in regards to the campaign you're making ;)
