[03-19-12] US Name- Templar RPG : GoH
Hey guys, I just released the first TEST version of this fantasy RPG and I was hoping I could get a few of you to test it out!
Its in a very early stage of development but I would love to get some opinions and discussion going to keep in mind as development continues. Please note the map is designed to be playable alone or with other players.
Here are a few screenshots that will hopefully make you want to check it out at least: http://sc2maps.webs.com/Screenshots/Screenshot2012-03-19%2020_53_58.jpg http://sc2maps.webs.com/Screenshots/Screenshot2012-03-19%2020_59_55.jpg http://sc2maps.webs.com/Screenshots/Screenshot2012-03-19%2020_55_21.jpg http://sc2maps.webs.com/Screenshots/Screenshot2012-03-19%2020_54_29.jpg http://sc2maps.webs.com/Screenshots/Screenshot2012-03-19%2020_52_50.jpg http://sc2maps.webs.com/Screenshots/Screenshot2012-03-18%2020_52_16.jpg http://sc2maps.webs.com/Screenshots/Screenshot2012-03-19%2020_37_37.jpg
So far the game has its skeleton systems in place (save/load, item roll, equipment system, scaling difficulty, skill tree system etc.), the first area "complete" and a few mini-bosses and events to check out. But it will get a lot better!
Thanks again for taking a look :)
men cool game but i cant open my inventory Xddd
I played this for a bit a few days ago and it has a lot of potential. Everything about it, so far, is great.
Hey guys, once again thanks for the comments. I will be keeping more regular updates over at the small blog/forum I've setup for the map. I'll be posting one update later today on what is (hopefully) coming this week.
@pnvq12: Yeah, on normal those creeps in the starting area will stop giving you experience at lvl 5; There is a cap so that you cant just come back at lvl 20 and afk patrol for hours just to level. As ExaltesG explained, higher difficulties increase the "cap" at which each monster give experience by a little bit.
@ExaltesG: An item list would be nice, maybe I'll setup a little wiki kind of thing or something later on so that people can share what they find and from what, that way I don't spoil the hunting.
As for updates check out the mini-site, I'll be keeping there little updates, change-logs, and even some previews now and then.
@TaintedDreams: I can confirm that Kingy drops shoulders in normal (chance of course), and I can tell you there are some blue and even purple quality items in the current version out there; but they drop from different mobs and not in Normal difficulty (at this moment).

Edit: Just posted the latest Development update. Check out what is planned for this upcoming week: Development Update [03-25-12] http://sc2maps.webs.com/apps/blog/
@ExaltesG: Go
Which is why I can't wait til 3 save slots is implemented. But yea, it's really punishing right now if your group isn't specced right. And the difficulty bar is stepped pretty high, so it's often quite hard with random people
@TaintedDreams: Go
Someone in my group doing something wrong may have been the problem but still you should be able to do boss runs ext with random groups being forced to be very specific builds with only 1 save slot is kinda pushing it if you don't already have friends that specifically like this game.
Someone in your group must have been doing their role poorly then, because I did a three man-run against the Kingy (Snapper) easily, the tank never dropped below 90% HP. And yea, the Crystal (Pylon) Event is actually really hard, seems to be hardest thing in the game right now, even harder than any of the bosses. So it seems like you should make the loot better from it, rare pieces such as shoulders (which I hear drop from Kingy) or maybe some blue-quality gear? Suggestion: Maybe be able to cast heal on people through their icon in the top left? Because it's kind of hard to heal people by manually clicking on their character, due to pretty much everything being melee, and you might heal the wrong guy by accident because he's standing too close.
Hey, I've been playing this the past few days and run into a few problems / suggestions.
A) pnvq12 you can get to lvl 6 by killing monsters on "Hard" but that is the cap that I have seen, I tried going on Insane but never got any extra xp only more loot.
B) I played a game with a lvl 6 healer, lvl 6 dps (myself) and lvl 5 tank and it is nearly impossible to kill the snapper boss. Edit: I was able to solo the snapper boss quite easily.
C) An item shop at the start may be an easy solution to this as I am sitting on 1k gold and nothing do to with it. Edit: now about 2k
D) I love the slow leveling system but not being able to get past level 6 is kind of annoying, even if enemies gave less xp that would be fine, as long as some was awarded so players could become more powerful.
E) As far as I have tried the pylon Quest is next to impossible solo as well, there need to be better items in the game to help deal with strong enemies such as turtles
F) Some form of item list would be awesome for this game, so that players can know if they have the best item for their level or not. I have grinded quite a bit in hope of a better weapon but not yet seen one.
Last, I understand this is early Beta/Alpha if you could keep us updated on what your future plans and thoughts on items said above that would be great. Thanks. BTW, you should come and hang out in your sc2 channel "Templar RPG" I'm sure others would have suggestions / feedback for you as well, would be nice instead of coming to this forum to talk XD.
Alright so im experiencing a technical issue. After I hit level 5 I stopped gaining experience. I killed at least ten wolves and still nothing. Then I tryed to remake and it remained the same.
SHEEP AND WOLVES ARE OP!!!! >:D
Thanks for the tip.
@pnvq12: Go
Eh sure, depending on your skill build this differs but in most cases I would level up a little bit before trying the mini-bosses and then try them in the following order: Wolf > Ram > Kingy... Leave the crystal for last or until you can beat the Ram (but again it depends on your build).
If all else fails or if you want to progress a little bit faster, I suggest you play with another player (or two) which have a different skill build than yours...
Alright so do you have any recommendations for soloing players?
This looks really really cool!
@TaintedDreams: Go
The game does scale with number of players as well TaintedDreams, so playing multiplayer will not be necessarily easier but the synergy between different build of multiple players does helps a lot (especially later on). You need to be careful the first couple of levels (depending on your skill build) and hope for a couple of drops, but it's totally doable solo (unless you try to solo with a healer/support type of build).
Thanks for the comments :)
Yea, I'd have to agree with pnvq12. Maybe try and scale enemy HP with number of players in game?
I love the game, but it really isnt solo player friendly. The drops for the potions are proportional with the groups 3 to 5 wolves right off the back. In the end I've been playing to gain as much exp. and then reloading once I die. All in all it has great potential
