Tank Def 2.0
Finally its here.
Its nothing special, like all these FPS games and RPGĀ“s plopping up nowdays.
Its just an simple Remake of the old broodwar TankDefense with some little improvements.
The map is NOT Balanced, thats why im releasing it - to collect informations about balance stuff, and trigger issues.
Map Informations:
- 2-4 Players - added some extra money for the Start, to ensure 2 Players are able to at least beat the first 10 Levels. 4 Players Recommended.
- Tutorial on Startup - Use Zergling to start the Next Level, use zealots - u gain 1 every 10 kills - to exchange for minerals.
- Build Tanks, use Siege Mode and upgrade them.
- 20 Levels included, Final version will have 30+

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
Because Blizzards popularity system kinda sucks, the newest version does not appear on top of the list on published maps in battle.net
If you play this map Online out of the Published maps, be sure to use the latest version, always found at the bottom of list.
LATEST ONLINE VERSION: Due to a Database Wipeout, the latest version number is 0.1 and the name changed to TankDef without the 2.0 at the end. TankDef - version 0.1

- Removed Intro and Difficulty options for better testing purpose
- levels 1-10 are kinda balanced (balanced with 2 players while getting 1 zealot every 20 kills, 4 players probably imbalanced)
- changed tank and scv hotkey so they wont override each other
- removed some doodads

- Changed some stats of the first 6 waves to make them harder.
- Added full map vision for Players 3,4,5
- removed starting zealots to ensure balance testing
- added choosable difficulties for 2 and 4 players (thanks to spinecrawler D! maker, i used your trigger for that :>)
(2 players = 1 zealot every 20 kills, 4 players = 1 zealot every 10 kills)

hey guys.
actually there is a team building up thats focusing on many old ums mak remakes and stuff like that.
i think as soon as this thing is running, im able to balance the map perfectly out with that team.
until then, you have to try your best - and tbh, i at last reached level 17 with some friends :P
always be sure to play the latest version. due to the database wipeout, the latest version is actually "TankDef" and the version number is 0.1
I made a party with some good players and we managed to beat many waves, although even with scv grinding breaks, we lost :p It's a hard map but I feel you're getting there with a balance :)
Would love to try this map some more, sadly wave 1 seems to be impossible so far.
Some balancing would be nice :)
Actually managed it once out of like 10 games now, the rest (up until wave 10) was so easy its a joke compared to wave 1 :p
please try to spread the word about the update, all people are playing v 2.2 at the moment.

i used the localizer from this forum, and it seems to have fucked the map anyhow.
i fixed it, latest version is 2.11 now!
there are also 2.8 and 2.2 in the list, DO NOT use these version please, theire out of date and hardly imbalanced!
and sorry again, bugs should be fixed now in 2.11!
the newest version doesn't work, units won't spawn and the "ready" table gets buggy. Using the zergling doesnt help either.
The 2.8 version is way too hard on the first levels, actually 5 of 6 games we didnt pass through level one. I completed all (20?) levels in the previous version(s) .
I'm not whining or anything, just can't expect to have 4 pro each time you host a game, even with everyone getting 6 tanks and 1 upgrade we lost some due to bad position of one tank etc. Kinda hardcore :)
MAp is great though, I know it's not an easy thing to do to balance stuff. Waiting for a rebalance and thanks a lot ! o/
I'm on a Mac, so Galaxy Editor isn't out for me yet and I can't help mirror the map on the US server. Region-locking UMS maps is dumb, and I hope Blizzard gives mapmakers a way to get around it.

Just so you're aware, there's a buggy "jacked" version of Tank Def that's making the rounds on the US beta server, and scrolling down the list I can't find any official version of your map. Is it possible for you to somehow publish your map onto US servers so we can play the latest build and test it too?
I've tried 5 games and every time we die on first wave. Not very easy entry level :P And 1 "life"? Thanks for creating the map, will be enjoying future versions!

sure, the first wave is hard, but it definitly is beatable..
i dont know why its that popular, but it seems they like the new stuff and the harder waves.
