World of Starcraft - Publicly Released Engine
This was originally just going to be a proof of concept for a third person system (and was successfully the one of the first of it's kind to hit the public due to the fact that I had tunnel vision and no desire to sleep the night of the Galaxy Release), it then evolved into testing the new interface options and data storage made available. It is now available in it's current form as a Precursor to an engine to help newer mapmakers get a clean start in fleshing out their ideas. Thank you very much essbee, I will certainly be looking for beta testers in the future and will make sure to contact you, as for many maps, I am still thinking about it, it WOULD make sense but my biggest qualm so far is eventually everyone will be high level, and maybe the levelling map dies out, maybe some bgs wont be liked so those maps die out, I want to keep my map strong without any weak points so people keep playing, so for now my logical step is to do my best to include all of these aspects intelligently on one giant map.
Wow, this is totally amazing, I was wondering if someone would try to do a "WoW style" camera/movement system. This is greatly done, I hope that you will continue it till the end. Personally, if I was you, I would create many maps, one with the arena aspect, one with some raid dungeons, some more with warsong gulch, arathi basin and eye of the storm. Well, if you can implement a lot of these in ONE map, I would like to see how it goes.

I like your idea Xiono but I am not aiming to make this game a dungeons and dragons type deal where a player gets supreme control over other players. As for the example map I put up, you are free to use it for whatever you wish, all I ask is you simply credit me for the movement system.
I'm loving the concept you have working here. I'm wondering if I can take the test map you put up as a preview and modify it a bit just to see what potential something like this has? Obviously, I'm not a great map maker with the new creator so I wouldn't be trying anything special. Also, I'm wondering if you have any plans on releasing a GM style game play in the map when you release it. Such as you have teams and one player is a GM that can oversee the map from maybe not a first person view and can throw random units out there and can help affect the game play?
I am always looking for ideas, so anyone can feel free to contribute, and as for testers, I will be running a short beta with this whenever it comes out(definitely not in the near future) so help with testers would also be appreciated but not required for now.

I have implemented full functionality for right click and left click mouse rotation as seen in World of Warcraft.
I am doing a full conversion here so I am actually going to program everything that happens in the game, including attacks, spells, and such, the only thing that will be used in the data editor is actors, this is a passion project I am doing to test the limits of the new editor. However, you made a really cool map :D

Yo I thought id tell you this for ranged weapons in WOS LoL. For ranged weapons you should make it so you reload with R(sniper round ability on the ghost). Then you have to click on a enemy to shoot it(or cast the spell). And i see you already turned the auto-attack off. The sniper round ability on the ghost allows you to do a ranged attack without auto-attack on, because you and me both know auto-attack screws up movement.
Just copy that ability over rename it, give the ranged guys 20 PSI Regen(maybe give them 15 or 10 so they cant shoot too fast or they will overheat). Boom only problem is you have to hit R between ever click haah but you can shoot fast with it. Maybe if you made it so you can cast it 5 times when you hit R so its actually like reload for a sniper rifle or something. Then you get to click 5 times before you have to reload again. But i couldn't figure out how to do that in the editor so ill let you talented people do it =D. But thought id give you the tip.
Production is going along smoothly, I just added functionality for up to 8 players to control a character!
Yeah, right clicking is not intended, in my latest version I removed things like move and move-to-attack from the unit. The latest file available for download doesn't reflect it because it is meant to serve as an example for movement for people and not to be fully loaded.
I think I found bug in the movement. If you click in map so the DT will move and in the same time you keep W button down, he moves twice as fast.
I have finished my 3d movement engine to a point where I feel it can stand on its own two feet so that anyone can use it. Now I will focus on cleaning it up for my own use and now announced project, World of Starcraft. The files will remain available for download for anyone searching for a movement example, and tune in for more information for my project!

I added moving backwards with S, and I also redid the movement system to be a lot more fluid and interweave between animations.
I added jumping functionality in the latest file with use of the spacebar, it is just for looks, it doesn't actually jump over an obstacle should it exist, however it will aid in the scaling of terrain.
If this ever becomes choppy for you, edit the properties of the camera object and set the far clip distance much lower. For my purposes, I got away with it as low as 40. If you tilt the camera down to allow a more frontal view this becomes necessary imo.
This is awesome! Makes me feel like I'm playing World of Starcraft!!
