First of all, huge thanks to Ultraling and Maverck for having done most of the work and making this campaign possible. Both of them were awesome about letting me use their stuff to put this thing together. These are originally Ultraling's maps, found here in sc2mapster. I picked them up a long time ago and slowly worked on them, editing terrain, adding all kinds of flavor here and there, including Maverck's Brood War mod, and this is the result.
Features
- all 10 original missions + the tutorial
- original SC1 units and structures with original stats, including custom models
- original SC1 Terran soundtrack
- all the dialogue, voice acting & other miscellaneous text from the original campaign
- classic unit decals, such as Alpha Squadron, Sons of Korhal etc.
"Artistic License"
(some notable differences from the original campaign)
- Medics - to balance out the units Brood War style, and to provide more options to the player
- extra "hero" abilities: Kerrigan has the snipe ability, Raynor can replenish Spider Mines
- Mission 4 "The Jacobs Installation" - third person mode (optional)
- two difficulty levels - with a somewhat more aggressive AI than in the original, in order to provide some challenge to the average player

How to play
- extract the mod file (SC1BWmod) to your "Mods" folder in your Starcraft 2 install directory (NOT the folder under "My Documents")
- extract the map pack to the "Maps" folder in your Starcraft 2 install directory (create the folder if it doesn't exist)
- extract the Campaign Launcher & setup to the same "Maps" folder (not the campaign folder)
Campaign Launcher installation:
- launch the Starcraft 2 editor
- open the setup map named SCMRsetup in your Maps folder and click the "test document" button on the top right (or press ctrl+F9)
- wait until the launcher loads and you're at the title screen, then save the game and exit the map (press esc or F10 to open the game menu)
- find the save file (named "Starcraft - Mass Recall" by default) in (your home/documents folder)/Starcraft II/Saves/VersusAI
- copy or move the save file to the saves folder under your account folder (your home/documents folder)/Starcraft II/Accounts/.../.../Saves/Multiplayer (for example; any of the save folders will do)
- Done! You can now log into the appropriate account and load the save from the load game-screen. You can use this save to play each episode.
more info:
- You can copy the save file to whatever accounts you want. For example, if you want to play offline, copy it to your guest account folder.
- If you're unsure of the right folders or can't find the Starcraft II documents folder, log into an account of your choice in SC2, go to the load game-screen, click on a save and click the "show in folder"-button. It will take you to the appropriate saves folder.

PLEASE NOTE that this is a completely unofficial, non-profit, fan-made remake and in no way affiliated with Activision Blizzard.
Please make those unused missions i mentiond earlier, if you are short on time i am willing to do the mapping for you guys ( just the mapping, don't know how to do triggers and stuff yet), I can also provide the sound bits ripped from the disk for the briefing and ect... (Don't forget you can still find the almost un-eddited missions included with my dificulty revamp at http:starcraft.org/maps/sc1/ums/831 ). Just let me know if I can help :)
Just an Idea I had for your artistic license: Since Terran 10 is suposed to be where Raynor steals the Hyperion (maybe slightly after) maybe you could show that in an ending cut scene; or bettter yet make it possible to steal it and other Battle Cruisers for use durring the mission. This would make it a bit more fun since you've made the mission almost imposible to beat without a mass Battle Cruiser strategy. I wanted to do this with the difficult revamp I made a while ago but I got tired of doing terran missions; I will finish the Zerg campaign eventualy... I guess it would be good for the people who can't run SC2.
I have my game installed in C:/Games/, so that might be the issue...
Do you have the most recent version of Starcraft 2?
I don't know what could be causing your problems...the mod runs beautifully for me... :(
It's really fun, too... :(
:(
@Iecerint: Go
Yes I do, I have done everything right and it's still not right!
Are you using the most recent Mod file? : /
I forgot to say that it affects both me and my brother on his laptop, we have a wireless internet so I'm on the comp and he on the laptop on the same IP adress, we have downloaded them multiple times and it doesn't help!
Is there supposed to be a cutscene before every mission? If so, a lot of them don't load...
The ones that do load are done very well, so it would be nice to be able to see them. :)
StuRedman:
Good good. Thanks for the info.
btn88:
Hey, thanks. =P
shadowsc2 (& kevin):
Ouch. Okay, not much else you can do right now besides trying to download the mod file again. I'll try fixing those issues for the next Zerg update. (and Terran, later)
JLogan:
Heh. Glad to hear. It's been a while, but I remember that it definitely helped.
should also mention mr. J.Logan and Tolkfan, "borrowed" some briefing screen related functions
My pleasure.
To me some maps appear to be 'broken' when I play them... the mission 7 terran is an example I don't get the briefing scene, I don't get the cutscene and the AI doesn't load... same thing happens to missions 2, (8, not sure), 9 and 10 zerg... the music doesn't play either... also some things do work on these and other maps like when you said that you can't accidentaly put the Psi Emitter in the CC. that's not 100% true, if you set the SCV to mine first then it'll leave the Psi Emitter in the CC. To get back to the point... The music doesnt play, missions 7 terran, 2, maybe 8, 9 and 10 zerg - the AI doesn't load, I don't get the briefing scene and the cutscenes... some units(guardian for e.g.) show up as black wholes, others( for e.g.) like dragoons show up as white balls... I remember when Husky was playing mission 2 zerg the ordinary hidras shot like in SC1 and the hunter-killer hidras shot like in SC2... although on my missions the AI doesn't load I can play them, and in this case it's the opposite, the ordinary hidras shot like in SC2 and the hunter-killer hidras shot like in SC1... oh and the maps don't link, when I pass a mission it says unable to load map... Do you know a way to fix these problems? I have downloaded and installed completely correctly, the maps and the mod are where they should be, map test difficulty is normal... Please help I want to play these missions just like I played in SC1
@ Jones 313 :
My maps are at the right location
Hiya. Wonderfull work Peeps. Just wanted to say that. keep up with the good remaking :)
@Jones313: Go Download of the update worked fine (I had problems downloading last time). Maybe the server downtime was good for something.
@Jones313: Go
portoss plz
Oh yeah, a new version is out (for a few days now)! Fixed a bunch of map-related issues. Mod fixes to come later. Also, expect a similar fix to the Zerg campaign sooner or later.
channjose, Anterro:
All that sounds quite mysterious to me, to be honest. It's possible there are in fact some compatibility issues with certain localizations, I don't know. We'll see if we can find out what's going on. If we're lucky, Blizzard might even fix this issue for us! And thanks for the tip Anterro, good to know.
kevin9009p:
Are your map files in the right location? Might explain the third issue.
Telenil:
Yep, that'd be the reason. I'm all for Brood War units as long as they don't conflict with the "lore" too much. =P
Thanks for 1.04 :) I support the deletion of the Valkyrie, it was purely UED tech that couldn't possibly have an equivalent in the Koprulu Sector.
channjose:
I had the same trouble. i saved the game, and then i reloaded it. Then the Music played again. An other thing which worked: I have an docing station under my laptop (with sound). When i reconnect with the usb of the port, the Music starts again from the start. dont know why, but i used that "bug" ;-)
Watch husky playing these missions!
I Love It But I Have Problems
1.once when i play there is no musicc or sound 2.some icons are missing 3.once when im victory, and comes out a dialog, when i click continue there is an error.
please im having some troubles, i read all posts (all 28 pages....) and the troubleshooting faq but still cant find the solution, the music does not play at all, also, some sound effects doesnt play propertly or doesnt play at all, and finally the background music at the briefing is not playing, all my problems are sound related, cuz everything else works fine, please someone has a solution for that?, i read in older posts, that some other people are having the same issue but no one aswer them, i have the latin america version of sc2, i dont know if there is some incompatibility with this mod, if it has, sorry, but i didnt find anything about it here, and as i said, everything else works fine, the character voices are perfectly played.
