First of all, huge thanks to Ultraling and Maverck for having done most of the work and making this campaign possible. Both of them were awesome about letting me use their stuff to put this thing together. These are originally Ultraling's maps, found here in sc2mapster. I picked them up a long time ago and slowly worked on them, editing terrain, adding all kinds of flavor here and there, including Maverck's Brood War mod, and this is the result.
Features
- all 10 original missions + the tutorial
- original SC1 units and structures with original stats, including custom models
- original SC1 Terran soundtrack
- all the dialogue, voice acting & other miscellaneous text from the original campaign
- classic unit decals, such as Alpha Squadron, Sons of Korhal etc.
"Artistic License"
(some notable differences from the original campaign)
- Medics - to balance out the units Brood War style, and to provide more options to the player
- extra "hero" abilities: Kerrigan has the snipe ability, Raynor can replenish Spider Mines
- Mission 4 "The Jacobs Installation" - third person mode (optional)
- two difficulty levels - with a somewhat more aggressive AI than in the original, in order to provide some challenge to the average player

How to play
- extract the mod file (SC1BWmod) to your "Mods" folder in your Starcraft 2 install directory (NOT the folder under "My Documents")
- extract the map pack to the "Maps" folder in your Starcraft 2 install directory (create the folder if it doesn't exist)
- extract the Campaign Launcher & setup to the same "Maps" folder (not the campaign folder)
Campaign Launcher installation:
- launch the Starcraft 2 editor
- open the setup map named SCMRsetup in your Maps folder and click the "test document" button on the top right (or press ctrl+F9)
- wait until the launcher loads and you're at the title screen, then save the game and exit the map (press esc or F10 to open the game menu)
- find the save file (named "Starcraft - Mass Recall" by default) in (your home/documents folder)/Starcraft II/Saves/VersusAI
- copy or move the save file to the saves folder under your account folder (your home/documents folder)/Starcraft II/Accounts/.../.../Saves/Multiplayer (for example; any of the save folders will do)
- Done! You can now log into the appropriate account and load the save from the load game-screen. You can use this save to play each episode.
more info:
- You can copy the save file to whatever accounts you want. For example, if you want to play offline, copy it to your guest account folder.
- If you're unsure of the right folders or can't find the Starcraft II documents folder, log into an account of your choice in SC2, go to the load game-screen, click on a save and click the "show in folder"-button. It will take you to the appropriate saves folder.

I have tryed literally everything, I have gone through all the steps meticulously and all i get when i try to start it is "unable to launch game" is there anything i can do to play this mod or am I out of luck because i really want some massive nostalgia.
i finally got it to work, its great except for some bugs, 1. stim doesnt work in bunkers, even when pressing the stim button 2. medics dont heal in bunkers which they should so stim is of use in bunkers 3. when you build a comasat station the command has 2 health bars (not one green one purple, 2 green 2 purple) 4. the FPS level is awesome!!
Hey guys, i'm new to this website. I have a question? Do i still have to download the mod file? I just downloaded the mod file for the Zerg campaign Do i still have to download the mod for the Terran campaign? or just the maps?
there's a bug whit the starport when you create a new control tower and lif off or you find one you put where is the wireframe but don't works the control tower
Half the time after the game loads it goes to the briefing screen but nothing happens. It just shows the background for the briefing screen and it doesn't start. What do? :(
i downloaded the mod into programf iles > Starcraft II> Mods> SC1mod
Version 1.03 out, fixed the U-238 Shells and possibly other broken upgrades, thanks to Maverck for letting me know how it's done. =P
Also some other minor tweaks/fixes, see the change log for details.
To people with the "unable to load map"-issue: I'm just as confused as you are. Shootemup posted this in the teamliquid thread:
"I tried to load this up, but I get a "unable to load game" error, anyone know how to fix this?
EDIT:
It appears when you download the mod file, you have to hit the "download" button instead of hitting the filename, hope this helps anyone else with the same issue"
Sounds completely random but if it helps, then great!
incanecow:
Either you didn't get the mod file or it's in the wrong location.
Centurian128:
Yeah, I saw. *head explodes
The Uxxx range upgrade isn't working and isn't disappearing after research so you can try again ... Lip sync in the intro's would be lovely, keep up the good job! /Y
To fix the error "cannot find map" the maps have to be in: StarCraft II\Maps\Rebel Yell\
No any more folders or anything. Same with chapter 2: overmind however it has to be in: StarCraft II\Maps\overmind\
I can load each map in GE and then test but whenever I click continue campaign I get the message "Unable to load map." Also the music and some images are missing so have I misplaced some of the files or what. Also I use a mac.
you can make a map loader like the starcraft original where appears the 3 campaigns and you can use that map to load all
No review as of yet, I've got to replay this Overmind is too much fun. I just wanted to let you guys know that HuskyStarcraft has 'Backwater Station', mission 2 I believe, featured in his Youtube channel from this very mod. d^_^b
Make sure the sc1mod.sc2mod file is not in an archive or anything (.zip, .rar etc). Also make sure it's not in another directory like %sc2path%/mods/sc1 or %sc2path@/mods/campaign or something like that. It has to be in the mods directory, oh and also check if you put it in the sc2 folder. If you had the beta you can get it in the wrong place by a mistake (i still have the beta for no good reason -.-)
Also quick suggestion: make a master map which is linked to all the campaigns and a brood war or the starcraft campaign just like the original game.
EDIT: Oh just remembered, add the same cheat codes as in sc1. The whole mod can probably uploaded to battle.net with the single master file i talked about and then the whole community will be able to check it out.
I have the same problem Lossendal, although I am using windows. I put the mod in my 'Mods' folder, and says could not load dependencies. When I looked in the dependencies, I could see my mod but in the description when I clicked on it, it said 'Core: Path is not an archive'. I have no idea what that means.
I tried launching it through test document and by dragging onto SC2 icon and every time it loads and says 'unable to launch game.'
it makes the game run without SC1 music or units ex. the barracks can make maurarders and reapers, but not medics or firebats.
whenever i start a map i get the error
Trigger error in Gt_Mapstart_Func Could not get 'Birth_Sound_Link' from Peramiter in Ul_Show_TextCrawl (Value:0)
any idea on how to fix this?
Oh when i try to load a map on GE, it says dependencies could not be loaded, continue anyway? lol. man how do i fix this. i wanna play this so bad.
thanks wolflisk. i like what you did with the jacobs installation mission even if i cant beat it XD
